We’re waiting on the ENT to come in the room. Then I’ll be working from home since daycare is still closed.

I'm at work, trying to stay awake. It seems like no matter what time I go to bed, I wake up tired. It's cloudy and threatening to rain, so my allergies are shit today. YAY!

Morning. I met a friend today for the first time in months, she had a baby in February, so it was nice to see each other’s babies.
We met a playground that is usually very quiet in the morning, but apparently a group of moms decided to be done with the Corona restrictions and thought is was okay to meet with 10+ people (2 outside is allowed) and their kids without social distance. We left and sat in my back yard. I’m so beyond annoyed with these kind of people 😖.
The weather is amazing today and I would love to go to the beach or the dunes, but it is probably way to crowded, so we’re staying home 😕.

nam2013, she's going to call the specialist today to set up an appointment. Apparently her doctor gave her choices so she was weighing her options.

Morning ladies. Nothing exciting here. I worked late yesterday but I'm hoping to offset that with getting done early today.
Yesterday I had Cass' conference and today is Maddie's. I'm annoyed with her teacher though so I'm not looking forward to talking to him. He was being a petty jackass and marked her as absent from school last week on a day when she was late (virtual) due to no fault of her own but did attend and turn in the HW. This is the second time he has done something similar recently. Meanwhile we've been accommodating for him when things have come up in his personal life and he's had to cancel class.

I'm here. I'm tired. We walked forever yesterday at the zoo. And I came home and did loads of paperwork. And I'm on my period so just feeling tired. We leave tomorrow for gaitlinburg for spring break. Just 3 nights but we plan to do anything and everything the kids want and just have a blast.

Morning.
I slept better last night. Got the kids to school and picked up around the house. I may have to go back to work in a few to complete the training. I will be there all day tomorrow, so I’m kind of hoping I can just finish it then. Today was supposed to be my one day off this week. I have a few things to catch up on on the computer, so I’m about to start that.
It’s wet outside and the Easter cold snap is making it’s way in.

What we needed to finish the training didn’t come - I’m thinking because of the bad weather- but now I don’t have to go in today. Yesssss.

Morning. I've given MH tasks today, so everyone is out of my house. They're at Costco now so the bank account will take a bit of a hit but silence at home is WORTH IT.

The ENT said he does not have a cleft, but he probably has Velopharyngeal Insufficiency (VPI). Basically his soft palate is weak. During speech, your soft palate moves up and down and touches the back of your throat. H's may not touch, which is why air is escaping and sometimes he has liquid come out his nose. (I swear everytime he eats chocolate, this happens).
He said he could refer him to the palate team at Texas Childrens Hospital, but since he doesn't have a cleft, they'd probably request therapy first before anything surgical.
I emailed the therapist that did the assessment to see what I should do next.

It seems like a very thorough appointment and it seems like there is a plan in place, how do you feel about the information tgrimes?

tgrimes, damn, I had no idea there were so many things that could go wrong in one's mouth. I'm sorry you're still dealing with this. Hopefully the therapist has some ideas for treatment.

We are getting a new patio today because we put the hot tub in our old one so we need a place for the table and fire pit. My dog who usually has issues with a back leg is now not using one of her front ones so I have an appointment at the vet tomorrow for her. I spent the morning climbing around the attic to see what my summer clothes situation is for the kids. Super exciting spring break stuff.

We went and got M new cleats. My kids have been awful all morning but we just got back and ate lunch. They're on the trampoline now. Hoping mj gets wore out and will nap.

TV talk:
The movie Run on Hulu is mostly entertaining, but slow at times.
Ginny & Georgia--I had a lot of feels about this one. Overall it became too drama-llama-ish for me as it went on. I also didn't like any of the characters. I'd probably hate watch a second season but with the direction the last few episodes went I think a second season would be a hot mess and have a lot of plot holes.
Doctor Dolittle--the new version with RDJ is on HBO. We watched most of it last night and the girls loved it. It was an ok watch as an adult.
Ms. Peregrine's School for Peculiar Children (or something like that)--Disney+ It was surprisingly good and just as weird as you' imagine it would be. It was a bit scary for Cass at some points but she still loved it. I really enjoyed it because it was really different and a well-told story. Typical Tim Burton weirdness.
The Impossible--Netflix. Movie about the Thailand tsunami that came out a few years ago. Really well done. Sad but not like some hopeless, depressingly sad trope that just leaves you reaching for the Wellbutrin. I've seen it before and wanted to rewatch it. MH told me he had no interest in it so I started it when he was going to bed and he started and was hooked. They definitely whitewashed this story though. It's about a brown family and played by white actors.

The hospital I work at has a nice pond and 2 resident swans. They are on something like version 3.0 of them since I started working here in 2008. I looked it up and swans have an average lifespan of 12 years in the wild and 30 in captivity. Today they are having a funeral for one of them that was killed by a river otter. I don't even know how a river otter would get in there. Makes me wonder if they're dying from misery of being at the hospital or something because those things aren't even making it 1/10 of what they should in captivity. Or are we getting more than "gently used" swans in the first place.

inthekitty, I read ALL of the books in the Peculiar Children series. I love them. I hate watched the movie though because they changed some of the characters' attributes and abilities. Something really interesting about the books is that the author uses old time photos he collected to create the characters. And I don't even care that I sound like a complete nerd.

Hi. I feel like I am winning at today! Vaccinations opened to the public today and I scored a spot tomorrow and got my mom and sister signed up! And Dh got in too! Registration opened at 9 and I got on right away and then it was full within 5 minutes, but I kept checking back and a few spots opened up after sessions timed out, so I got them in too.
But now I worried I messed up answering the questions. It was basically a list of questions to answer “no” to but there was on that asked if you are eligible by age to get the vaccine and I might have said no.... but I also put in my birthdate at the beginning so hopefully I don’t get kicked out. That would be my luck. Lol.
Just finished up lunch and I have a zoom meeting in a bit to start training for work.
