Hope the doc gets in touch soon. That report would have me spiraling. Hope it’s nothing serious. lfig Sorry for this on top of everything. I’ve learned not to spiral too much. I did that when I was pregnant and we got Sierra’s diagnosis of hydrocephalus. I’ve learned over the years that, although I like to google and arm myself with all the knowledge I can, it’s best to wait to hear what’s really happening from the dr. You are much wiser than I am.

Potential UO
Not that I don't support when men have similar trials to women, but sometimes I think they should STFU and let issues that have a stronger impact on women be addressed for women first and sit in line and wait their turn.
For example, now that you hear people call a lot more for protected paid maternity leave for women in the US, there are always people demanding men get paid paternity leave as well. Don't get me wrong, I think they should and having them home also benefits women who recently gave birth, but when talking of the more common situation (not to exclude adoptive parents) the women have also just recovered from a major physical event and possibly adjusting to another major change of breastfeeding. There are much more pressing needs for women to have that leave as their bodies are recovering.
Another example I came across recently was that call for weight standards to change for women in the army with the proposal being in the meantime until something more definitive gets worked out, have them judged by men's standards. The example showed that with equal measurements, a man is considered passing at 15% BMI and the woman was failing at 37%. While their standards might also be unfair, men's standards are much easier than women's so clearly far fewer men are impacted by this. But I saw tons of men saying "it hurts us too!!"
I feel like in a society where women always come behind men that sometimes men just need to put on their big boy pants, support the issue getting corrected for women first, then they can fight their battle.

inthekitty - It's like they say, if you only bring up men to detract from conversations centered around women (sexual assault, for example - "men get assaulted too"), you don't actually care about the issue, you're just trying to sabotage the conversation.

inthekitty MH and I got in a fight the other day because when we heard DD may be quarantined, I told him I was calling C’s sitter to ask if he was still allowed to go there. He claims to be a great advocate for his female employees but immediately said to me “well if she says no, you are going to need to call out for the week because I’m busy at work and I can’t watch him.” I was so pissed. Also, the expectant mothers/mothers with newborn parking at the grocery store was changed to parents with newborns after a man complained. Like seriously, it’s not about the newborn, it’s about the person who just pushed/had a newborn cut from their uterus so if that was you man, by all means, park there.

kim22 grr that would annoy me too. Major eye roll to men having the nerve to complain about expectant mother parking. It's very "all lives matter."

peachsmama I’m so sorry. You need a night alone in a hotel when it passes. Croup is exhausting.
