Hey ya'll
So I've had enough of being over my ideal weight and out of shape. It is also mentally hurting me because I'm taking no time for me. So starting now I'm on the ass kicking, better eating, taking care of self train.
Who else is taking care of themselves in some way?

This week I'm hoping to go swim laps and ride that bike in the basement. I just got a salad from wendy's (what!?) and I'm gonna limit my meat intake (summer is equaling too many hot dogs, burgers, and not healthy meats).

I've been watching what I eat closer than usual. Not dieting per se, but trying to choose fruits and veggies over sweets. I've also committed to doing sit-ups, push-ups, and getting in at least 8K steps a day (12k on days I run). I've been doing it for 10 days or so and I've lost 2 pounds. Probably mostly water weight but I'm celebrating anyway.

I'm officially doing better with eating - lower carb, higher fat, higher protein. Occasional treats. I don't believe in diets, but I am also apparently not a person who can have, like, two slices of toast at breakfast. So. Whatever.
I'm working 2 days a week which always leaves me physically exhausted. I'm working out 2-3 days a week in my basement after bedtime or at naptime - only 20-30m, while watching a show on netflix. I try to do this weird arms strength training thing once a week. Or so.

I've been trying to eat less and walk more within reason. I feel so big, but I know it's not smart to start exercise or diet while pregnant, but I'm pretty grossed out by my body. I feel pretty trapped knowing what I would normally do to fix it, but not allowed to.

I started Couch to 5k over again since I did absolutely nothing all winter. I'm also making a point to get practice time in- the kids are big enough to sit and color while I play a little bit. It's not enough time to really get back in shape but it's a start.

We have a lot of space in the (unfinished) basement, luckily. It works great - I set up my laptop on a certain tower of milk crates and I zone out. Lol.

I've been trying to get 8k steps a day, though I strive for 10k. I'm not getting any me time to actually workout, so I need to do better.

I need to join.
I'm feeling so bad about myself lately. So my hip injury is now formally diagnosed as piriformis syndrome and strained hamstring. I can't do anything with impact or anything involving bending at the waist. I can't even do the treadmill or the elliptical (too much stress on the hammy.) So I'm basically doing physical therapy, stationary bike, and yoga. But yoga is basically a joke Bc I can't do half the poses.
My biggest struggle right now is food. I do great all week. Then over the weekend, I easily consume more calories than I cut during the week. Since my working out is limited, I ought to be doubling up my eating efforts. And yet, here I sit, drinking my blues away. Ugh!!!!
I almost want to do another whole30 just to force myself to do better. But I know the idea of zero alcohol for basically the rest of the summer is not really feasible. I just don't know moderation. I'm all or nothing.

So its Monday - how's everyone doing. I forced myself to drink water instead of a second cup of coffee. And I had an egg with cheese on homemade bread for lunch. I already can't remember breakfast. Sorry your hip sucks tj - is there a timeline for recovery or taking it day by day? I've been hating myself too latey and using the bf/no sleep excuse not to do something about it. Starting this week I don't care. She goes to sleep fine for BM if I'm not there and I have zero weaning concerns, so tonight I go swim laps instead of bedtime. Hopefully I can swim more than one without stopping- doubtful though. Can you swim tj?

That's a good idea stringy. I'm not sure if it'll work, seeing as how I'm terrified of water, and don't want to get my hair wet haha. But I will see if I can get it in once a week.

I swam for 30 mins with fewer breaks than I thought. I need new goggles. Now prepping some healthy food for the rest of the week.
Anyone else?

Great job stringy! I did my physical therapy stretches and strengthening exercises, then 15 minutes on the bike. An hour of yoga, then 15 more on the bike. After nap today, I took the girls for a walk around the block (1/2 mile total.) But of course, I ended up carrying both E's bike and P's scooter while they walked ahead of me and yelled at me for being such a mean mom. Seems appropriate. Yogurt and hard boiled egg for breakfast, salad with cottage cheese for lunch, 1/2 apple with natural pb for snack, and salad with chicken salad for dinner. Will need another snack before bed. Hopefully I don't have a snaccident.

Omg tj why do they always do that. I routinely have bikes and scooters on the handle bars and two kids in the (single) stroller. Wtf? Made a chickpea salad that I'm super excited about.

I took a walk to deliver some invitations for E's bday party to one side of the neighborhood. I'll walk to the other side of the neighborhood on Wednesday.
My snack was cottage cheese, half a peach, and a drizzle of honey. Sooooo good.
