Now that it is out that the police were informed ahead of time that she was coming and they waited to act against the vigil until she had left.... I don't see how even their big fans can keep pretending this was a sincere, spontaneous gesture.

I take everything Lady Colin Campbell says with a pillar of salt, but she is saying that Anne was the royal who made the skin tone comments, but that the Sussexes misrepresented them because Meghan wants to spin things to be a victim. That Anne was concerned about the "culture."

This is just another clear example of the BRF trying to create a positive spin for Kate and looking to defend any negative press she might be receiving. Why are they so bad at PR? This whole thing was a mess to begin with. Now, they have all but admitted that it wasn't a surprise and was instead a planned visit to and likely they all tipped off the press (since we knew details immediately like where the flowers came from). It leaves me with a bad taste since this is a situation that was horrific and I don't like is being used in this way. Either make a stand or don't, but don't use it for your own gain. This is where I am. What a stupid mess.

Because they are so stupid I can see them releasing this to “help” because they don’t know how horrible it sounds.

It having been Anne doesn’t make the situation any better! It still happened and in fact by trying to spin it, they have confirmed that Meghan and Harry are telling the truth. I think that the reason they specifically said it wasn’t Elizabeth or Phillip is because the racist comments likely happened as part of several conversations and weren’t met with the rest of the room yelling at them. Instead they were all showing their racist asses to some degree. Treating the baby being mixed like some kind of scandal to handle. I just can’t.

I'm sure it's very much the "culture" of *you better never bring home a black boy* that I was raised in. They would all claim they're not racist and they like BIPOC, but they don't want one in the family. It makes me sick.

I love the collection of colorful glassware in the window 😍 I was looking at that too! My mom used to put colorful glassware on some of her window sills so this made me all nostalgic

This was the first tweet i read this morning. But no one else on my feed is really talking about it. And I googled and didn’t find much except for prince William is having a hard time not sharing his side of the story. Eye roll.

I go back and forth about whether or not this is their spin or Lady Colin Campbell just needing attention and making something up. Or her really having some information and deciding to put it out there. I think when the royal family wants to get their side out, they tend to use someone else (Richard Palmer, Katie Nichols, etc). I just don’t know. I could certainly see Anne saying it, but I can really see any of them saying it.

The traditional Royal Maundy service was due to happen today. The Queen wrote to 190 recipients who would’ve been there to receive a gift from her. She writes: “I’m sure you will be sad, as I am, that the present circumstances make it impossible for that Service to take place”

Like, let's say Anne did say it. If Charles and/or Will didn't step up and say "that's ridiculous, we don't care what color the babies skin is" then they are just as complicit.

My mom told me it would just be "easier" if I didn't date Black guys. I was 11. She now doesn't remember ever saying such a thing. 😒
