Oh no. mwhip Sorry it’s bothering her. Is she still doing PT? This may sound weird, but do you think flare ups are worse with allergy seasons? I know we aren’t in spring yet, but the weather flip flops are doing a number on sinus/allergies and just wondering if that has any affect on her. I know I’ve heard the old people say the weather/temps seem to affect their arthritis. I don't know about allergies, but definitely with the weather/pressure changes. Although it hasn't been this bad, even with the super cold snap we had. She's been under a heating pad since we got home, they rheumatology department approved her taking naproxen so I crushed one and put it in her applesauce. So she can bend it now when sitting, I'm going to get her up in a little bit to walk and see how it is.

I shouldn't even put this in the universe, but when I left my last job, I worked 3 days of my last two weeks... I hit a deer on the way to work one morning. My grandma passed away. My H had a heart attack.
That was all pretty much exactly 5 years ago.

mwhip I hope the naproxin continues to help and she feels better, poor girl. Also, I hope this 2 weeks is far less eventful than 5 years ago!! We have a pandemic, you don't need any other chaos!!

Um, so our new office is in a shared building, which means a shared restroom. It's a normal public restroom, three stalls, sink, etc. Well, our accountant just went to use the restroom and Smokey is in there peeing with the damn stall door open. WTF? Who even does that???
I've also had to send out an email to everyone saying we are in a shared building now and they need to be wearing their masks as soon as they walk outside the office. You wouldn't believe the push back I got on that shit. Why is it so hard for these idiots to wear a damn mask????

OMG klong11! That sounds so embarrassing! I worked in a building like that before and I hated it...especially when you needed to go #2 because you couldn't help it. I like my privacy!

And an update, she seems totally fine now. I'm still taking her to PT at 4 today. I reached out to her teacher and the nurse to make sure there was nothing else going on that she would try to get out of school for and both agree that there was something wrong at the time.
I did tell Evie yesterday that I would be starting a new job in a few weeks and would not longer be taking her to, and picking her up from, school. That her grandmas would be taking that back over. She said NO sadly. Part of me wonders if that is part of it, but I hate to accuse her of lying.

mwhip, I prefer the public restroom so I don't have to go in after these dudes I work with. We finally have a WOMEN's restroom. These guys have the worst aim, and most of them are hunters!

mwhip will you have any flexibility once you get settled in the new job? So that maybe once in a while you can drop off or pick up? How far is the new job from your house and her school?

My office had a handful of single restrooms throughout the building and then 1 large woman's room and 1 large men's room. I went into the office last week after not being in since November and they changed all of the single restrooms (which were either just men's or just women's) to gender neutral bathrooms and I don't like it.

We have one restroom at our office so all of us share it. One of our attorneys doesn't know how to use spray or flush approriately if he leaves poo in the toilet. It is not delightful.

At the office we have several single toilet bathrooms that are for everyone. Good Christ it's amazing that grown adults don't know proper bathroom etiquette.

On of my ancient coworkers posted on MS Teams "Am I on line?" Woof does he ever need to be forced into retirement. I can only imagine all the mistakes he makes with digital medical records. Apparently he has no interests and dislikes his wife because he's an MD with multiple sources of retirement but doesn't show signs of stopping in his mid-70s. This will be him someday:

Dh and I are going to be buying bikes soon. Do you guys have any advice? This will be for riding with the kids mostly. I’m 5’2 and am wondering if I should just get a kids bike because I’m so short.

The bathrooms closest to my desk at work are separate men’s/women’s with stalls. But if I am able to I prefer to go into the family restrooms for more privacy.

I am currently on the phone with my Mom helping her get her tax slips for 2020, the conversation started with 'Vino I signed up for this paperless shit and I just wish they'd send stuff to me in the mail' Oh Mom....

I would look at womens mountain bikes, a couple gears, handlebar breaks. Not a children's bike as they wouldnt have the support for a grown womens weight. I know that cruisers are popular but they really are one dimensional and expensive for what the bike actually does. Popular right now is hybrid bikes, but for what you're looking to do a mountain bike would suit all purposes for many years. There are all sorts of charts as to what inseam your bike should be for your height, they're pretty accurate. I couldnt find my bike brand in the US but this is similar to mine.

I'm thinking once I get established it will be an option to WFH a day or 2 a week. New job is 11 miles from home, but a busy commute (for Kansas City, lots of interstate). They sound like they're flexible and family oriented.

My boss finally contacted me this afternoon. What I expected vs what happened were totally different. I have to come up with the strategy for how I am going to train the idiot I work with, who has never taken any initiative in the 5 years I've worked there. He has 8 suppliers, I have 100. I laughed out loud, much longer than I should have, when he told me he was going to have Jackie do my work.
So I guess I'll be going into the office to train him. Its going to be an absolute shit show, the communication barrier will make it difficult and I think he would learn better with step my step instructions, but whatever.
I voiced my opinion about our data being loaded incorrectly and i spend a majority of my time correcting mistakes...his response was 'that happens in all integrations.' When I said something about the extra hours SAP had caused, working late evening and on weekends, he said 'yeah, well, its what we do.'
No fucker, it doesn't have to be. An apology for how this all went down would have gone a long way in how the next 2 weeks play out.

If there’s a bike shop around you can go in and get fitted. They will tell you what size frame is best for you. I loved my cruiser to tool around the neighborhood but it was so heavy to do more than that. I got a city bike in the fall and love it. I would prefer a hybrid but this was a better price and it gives me an excuse to not go in the woods much. I would suggest buying soon since everyone will be looking like last year.
