Because I had the extra kids yesterday, MJ didn't nap until they left. So she fell asleep at 5:30.. girl couldn't even hold her eyes open. I woke her at 7 for dinner and she screamed until I laid her back down. She woke up a few times motn, but mostly slept until 6:30 this morning. If her diaper hadn't leaked she may not have woke. But I got her in dry clothes and now we're playing.
What's everyone up to today?

Morning.
I woke up to help Mh get the boys ready so he could take them. I planned to go back to sleep, but I can’t, so I’m up. Laundry and pantry clean out on my agenda today. That’s all I got.

Morning! I'm not feeling it today...my attitude toward work is shit, but I'm trying to keep a somewhat positive attitude. I feel like I'm not going to get the job offer I really want and the other one will offer me a job at a significantly lower salary than I can take, so I'll have to start over. I have a call scheduled at 1030 with a recruiter, although recruiters have never helped me in the past, so I don't have any expectations for that call.
Just work today and Evie has swim lesson again at 430 this afternoon. She was in a class by herself yesterday, which was great since it was her first time. I hope she's alone until she gets more comfortable. Girl loves to swim, but is very dependent upon a life jacket. We discussed that it is scary to get your face under water and it's okay to be nervous. She practiced more in the bathtub last night, so I think she'll do better today, but there were lots of tears yesterday and I was worried she was going to refuse to go back. I told her each lesson will get a little better and she will be jumping off the diving board at my dads pool later this summer!

About time. ours still hasn't, but it's so ridiculous. There is no checking so everyone is just booking appointments if they want them and checking off they have a preexisting condition. so teachers that are being honest are not getting the vaccine, while regular people that are not being honest are getting it. I have a friend who lied to get hers (she is a teacher and has a number of other conditions that I believe make her a candidate but she didn't fit in the official rules) who asked me why I haven't gotten mine yet and said I was one of the only people she knew who wasn't lying to get it. In other news, MH is getting his on Thursday (actual preexisting conditions) and I'm a little nervous about the side effects for him.

I've come to terms with the fact that I will be one of the last people allowed to get it, no health issues, low risk. As adults, it seems like you would want the people in the highest risk categories to get theirs first.

I don’t think I would lie to get it if I’m not eligible. Is your teacher friend in class? If she is expected to teach in person and put herself at risk everyday, I wouldn’t begrudge her.

I know several people here that have gotten the vaccine that aren't supposed to be eligible yet. They aren't lying to get it though. When people don't book appts and they'll have to toss the vaccines, they open it up to anyone who wants it. You usually have to drive a couple hours, but I'd rather someone get vaccinated that wants to, than them have to toss it.

I'm at home with M again. She actually has to do some school work today but it's just asynchronous so nothing to stressful. Her teacher is out this week (she had a miscarriage) and so another teacher will be combining her class and ours for virtual learning. Should be a shit show.

I checked today to see if the qualifications in my parent’s state changed yet. One of the qualifications include their age but they have to be qualified obese according to a BMI of over 30. I did the math on what I think their weight is and they both fall just short of the BMI requirement.
This weekend I learned that my second hospital is taking waitlist names for anybody as long as an employee puts them on it. If they have any extra doses they don’t want to go to waste, you can get called for it. I wish my family was local so I could put them on it and they can get theirs sooner than later. I’m going to check with my neighbor who lives with her elderly mom and see if they want to get on the list. I feel like I should do something for someone who would otherwise have to wait a few months.

RI is going pretty slow. We are at 65+ right now and the next group is pre existing conditions and 60-65. They also took off many pre existing conditions off the priority list like obesity and high blood pressure. Teachers are not prioritized at all, which is bullshit. I think going slow is a good way to not crash the system and cause long waits. My mom got in the same day it opened to her group. It does feel like we are moving slow though.

Vaccine rate is terribly slow here. they’re slowly increasing the pace but apparently we just don’t have enough of the stuff... teacher will not get the vaccine earlier but are already teaching full classes kinder- trough 6th grade and middle/high are expected to start teaching half classes in person next Monday...

OMG, I got the job offer from the company I didn't think would be able to come up with the money to get to where I am. BUT THEY DID! Salary is only 3k less annually, but they're paying me that in a sign on bonus. I'm waiting for the benefit package, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to accept it!

Teacher friend is in class, single mom with a son in day care, had some serious health issues a few years ago (brain tumor) and has a ton of other shit. I don't begrudge her at all, and supported her doing it. She was trying to convince me to do it too though, and I have no other conditions and am largely working from home (in the office maybe 1 x per month)

I'm told my industry is in the next wave anyway so hopefully in the next few weeks I'll be eligible.

I side eye people who lie to get the vaccine, particularly if they work from home, but it doesn't surprise me. Did you see those ladies who dressed as grannies to try and get it in Florida? SMH.
It'll make such a huge difference logistically when they can get down to 1 shot and no super cold refrigeration needed.
I hope by the time the kids get it the side effects will be less extreme, but I think that's unlikely. I remember the flu shot used to suck every year in regards to side effects, but in these past few years it's been much better.

When I get their benefit package, I'll review it and I'm sure accept the position. Probably turn my notice in tomorrow or Friday. We are supposed to get our performance bonuses soon, which isn't enough to make me stay longer, but I feel like I deserve. I got the letter this week with my amount, but it didn't say when they would pay it. I'm hoping it's in process to pay Friday and send my letter after it's in process, so they can't stop it. I wish I could see their faces when they read it...

The girls both thought today was Friday so I think they're going to be dragging the rest of the week.
Yesterday sucked for me at work and I hope today is a little more manageable.
TV talk:
The Imposters was really entertaining. I'm enjoying season 3 of Good Girls although I think they're already getting to the point where they're just going to be spinning the same storylines over and over again. I don't see how it could have more than 1 more good season. I watched the third To All the Boys. It was ok, but I wasn't a fan. I think it kind of wore out it's schtick of Lara Jean living in her head. And it tapped into one of my personal pet peeves of privileged kids stressing about which ivy league college they'll go to and acting like ivy leagues are all that exist. I realize that saying the big names is obviously something most of the audience will know and have something to grasp onto, but I very much eye roll to the elitism of the college world.

So vaxxing will be a big mission of the NG...we chatted about it this weekend and joked if my fellow mental health officers will be tasked to deliver shots. They told us they'd happily give us a class so we could be credentialed to do so and that they've talked about training infantrymen to do it.
