Yes, it's Thursday! One day closer to the weekend. And closer to getting above freezing here.
How is everyone in TX?
Evie is back in school today, I was so excited to drop her off! I have a call at 4 today with the same company I spoke to yesterday that told me not to move forward with any other offers until I speak to them again. It's a Teams call, so I guess I'll do my hair and makeup today for the video portion of it, although I don't think the microphone works on my laptop...I don't know how unprofessional it would be for me to tell him that and just do it over the phone.

My grandmother died last night. I'm fine, she was 100 and was healthy and aware until 1 week ago when she started fading fast. She really missed my grandpa who died in 2008, and this is what she wanted.
It's mostly just weird. We are doing everything over zoom. It feels so... awkward. I dunno, it's just a weird ending.

I'm so sorry for your loss jewels. It's hard to lose them even when you kind of know it's going to happen. Zoom would be a weird way to say goodbye. Hugs. |

Today was already a half-day for Josie, so they called off because we are expecting snow. I have a feeling tomorrow will be a delay or no school.
I’m working on painting the basement— one wall and the stairwell to go.

Morning. Yesterday was rough. I asked dh to come home at like 12 but his bosses said no so I had to parent until 5:30, at which point I locked myself in my room. I’m still not feeling well today, fever and headache, so DH stayed home. I called out of work already. I have big plans of staying in bed most of the day. I’m sorry for your loss jewels |

MH had to go to work so I’m home with the kids. We have a trickle of water and are on boil advisory. There’s another hard freeze tonight. I’m not sure what that means for our power and water.

yes she truly was healthy and with it right up till the end. She would regularly email me. I had a shared icloud folder that I would send her pics of the boys, and she knew how to use it!
The past few years she often expressed how upset she was that her body did not respond how she would like it too. She was not happy that she would tire out so easily and she always wanted to be up and about.
She was an amazing woman. She and my grandpa were both very involved politically and were more open minded than most 20 year olds. When my nephew came out of the closet at 15, she was 98. She called him to tell him how proud she was of him that he was able to express himself at such a young age and how much she loved him. Not so common for that generation.
Not about her, but about my grandfather... he was dying in 2008, and I flew down to see him. We all knew he only had a few days to live. He told me that I HAD to figure out a way to get him to vote early, because no way he was dying without helping to elect the first black president. I figured it out and did all the paperwork for him and he cried when he was signing it. He was born in 1917 and said he never ever thought he would see the day.
He would be horrified to know what the last 4 years have brought. My grandmother and I regularly discussed how surreal it all was and how disgusted she was in the american people.

Hello from work. C went to school today for the first day since March! Well... he only went for an hour for a little outdoor field day but you would have thought it was Christmas. So excited!

lahdeedah Ooh, good idea to download on my phone. I'll see if I can get it set up. It's through Teams, which I'm not that familiar with, I normally just join meetings on my laptop with it. trtlcrzy I'm sorry you had to parent yesterday while feeling awful. I hope today is better with your H home and you can get some rest. tgrimes We are warming up to 20 here today, so hopefully some of the energy can be pushed your direction and keep you all on the grid! I wish we were closer...I have cases of bottled water I could bring you all.

We are getting snow starting this afternoon through tomorrow. It’s over the course of a long time and estimated total of 4-6inches. I think the news of the crazy storms elsewhere has gotten to our after care place because they told us to watch the site for potentially closing at 4 and being closed tomorrow. They usually don’t worry about this stuff and often are open when school isn’t so I hope they don’t jump the gun. I doubt we are getting much at all.
I’m doing a bunch of trainings today and want to go back to bed. I also need to find time to get a gift for my niece because we are now celebrating her birthday Saturday at my in laws. We were going there to have late Christmas and her birthday is in March so I wasn’t prepared. Maybe I’ll have a chance to go tomorrow.
Cs Preston Stylez shirt came yesterday and he loved it! He actually pretended to faint because he was so excited. It was worth the wait and actually good quality.
