Good morning! Still lots of snow here, but I was able to take B to school this morning. When I was pulling back in the driveway I accidentally tapped MH car. He was not amused.
Hope your days started better!

I'm so tired. I forgot what it was like to get up at 6 every morning for work. Cadence keeps asking to come to the office, mostly because she wants to set up a table outside and sell cookies.

jewels Did it cause any damage? It doesn't look like it did, maybe a tiny scrape. I have a little scrape on my car but I don't really care. I was driving like 3 miles an hour in my driveway and I have to pass his car to get to my spot. It was such a tiny tap, but he cares a lot about his car lol.

School are reopening next Monday. I’m happy for the kids and hesitant at the same time. Because the kids were so young, as soon as they were inside the school grounds it was just business as usual. Now they want to enforce all kinds of additional precautionary measures and I know that smart, but I’m also sad that even the last part that had a shred of normal is now lost. Plus the British version is already here and taking the country by storm, hopefully the school will stay safe... Blah.
Eta lots of hand washing, not coming to school with a cold, drop off/pick up cohorts, no parents inside etc. were already in place.

In other news... ssdd. I met my friend at a local playground, it was raining, but our kids (she has a 1&3yo) had fun anyway.

nam2013, Both my boys have been in school with all the precautions and they adapt so quickly. Honestly, I think it's harder for us adults. I would try not to stress too much about it.

nam2013 I’m sorry. My kids have been out for 11 months except for 12 half days in October for the middle two and 3 half days for the oldest. They would gladly be wrapped in full bubbles for a chance to go back, it’s awful.

MH leaves for AL tonight. I told M why he was leaving and she seems to be okay with it, right now. I don't think H would understand yet.

I didn’t formulate correctly. I’m sad because if the normalcy, hesitant because of the British version going around.

Morning.
It’s a weird day. We are all on the struggle bus here at work. Just little things that are out of whack as we do patients.
I’m leaving at 2 today just because. I need a couple extra hours to get some stuff done.

I need a couple extra hours to get some stuff done. I was kick ass on Monday. I worked, then picked up my groceries, had a store pickup at Target, did my work out, folded clothes and put them away, unloaded/loaded/handwashed dishes, prepped dinner, picked up the kids, cooked dinner, did the dishes again, uploaded all of M's school work and walked the dog. I had to leave work at 2 to accomplish all of that. Someone remind me of how awesome I was Monday when I suck at life while solo parenting this week. Lol.

I feel very stylish today. I have on my new jeans in a burgundy color, with a grey leopard print shirt and a jean jacket. M saw my outfit and had to change into her burgundy jeans so we could match.

I sometimes forget that other kids are in school while Cadence is not. One parent posted on our neighborhood board how it was her daughter's 100th day of school and she was looking for items to make her look 100. It made me sad because I hadn't realized it was already the 100th day of school that Cadence has been in front of the computer just for this year (not including half of last year) But, our district gave the ok for everyone to come back even though we're sitting pretty in Stage 5 over here. Sure enough more kids go back and suddenly we have 3 cases at our school right in a row. No thank you. Cadence can just sit her pretty little butt at home in front of the computer.

A year ago 16 weeks would have sounded absurd. In April my city will be voting on putting in new ventilation systems and bathrooms that work. Also absurd that we have to vote on that and it’s not just something that has to be done.

I’m a wine girl, with the occasional beer at a festival/concert, through and through, but I love a gin and tonic. I had one with elderflower syrup that was amazing!

My MIL also made a rosemary pear martini for thanksgiving one year. I've been drinking dirty martinis & cosmos here and there. How are you trying to classy up your drinking? With cocktails or better wine?

Hi! Dog had an infusion treatment first thing this morning; IDK if they're like this with every patient but they seem to love her so much. It makes me feel good about taking her there. While C was at preschool I got a couple things for her 'sock hop' on Friday (a Valentine's tradition at her school). They learned the cha-cha slide in class today and she is v. serious about it and has been practicing. My parents are coming over tonight and I'm supposed to be making chicken and dumplings. It's labor intensive so that was probably a poor choice but I've got all the stuff and everyone is excited about it

In case you are wondering, I'm still waiting on FB Marketplace lady re: the dining room furniture. I'm trying not to obsess.
I messaged her Sunday night about it before realizing the listing was several months old, so I figured it was long gone. But surprisingly she replied Monday that it was still available. I immediately responded that I want it. She hasn't looked at the messages. She's a resident at a local hospital, according to FB stalking, so I get that she's super busy, but sheesh. Perhaps it is still available b/c you won't respond to people that want to give you money?!

I did pick up a few nice bottles of wine since I got on a boxed wine kick with all the drinking at home. Trying to be better than that I also picked up St Germaine to try in a few recipes. And peanut butter whiskey. All this fancy stuff is expensive! Lol. And they were out of the ginger liqueur so I’ll try and stop at another total wine on my way home.

Like the smell of it makes we want to vom. However, when I went to my parents house with my sister the waiter was talking about how amazing it was. Yada yada yada. He gave us a free shot. It didn’t taste like whiskey at all and apparently that’s the new hip thing down there. I like my alcohol to taste like alcohol though, so I wouldn’t try it again. But you could definitely google some recipes with it. See also Moscow mules and palomas.

Only privates are in school here and I feel it too sometimes. The aftercare does have kids doing virtual class from school and j asks about that sometimes, but understands that since we can work from home, he is staying home too. We had to pick about sending back months ago and the county really didn't have good info on how the hybrid approach would work, so we are staying home since he's doing relatively okay. This all sucks though.
