I spent yesterday traveling to get LO from my parents and today trying to do some housework and possibly go to the pool this afternoon. Also, trying to get the baby to nap longer than 5 minutes... We made it to the pool, but had an epic meltdown leaving the pool with the oldest. Like to the point that you walk as fast as possible and don't make eye contact with anyone.

My parents are here and it is surprisingly nice. Soooo glad they are not staying at our house this time around, it is so much less stressful. Nugget is having a great time with grandma and grandpa and they are really enjoying spending time with her. Today we went to a museum together and then came home and grilled burgers and had cake for my dad's birthday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I've had many friends that have said it makes visits more enjoyable for them and their parents when the parents stay at a hotel.

I am a true believer, having house guests is stressful! And having my family over stresses out my husband even more, which in turn stresses me out. Plus, they come from California to visit, so they're never here for just a weekend.

I love having house guests, but admittedly, life would be so much easier for so many people if my mom stayed in a hotel/AirB&B when she visited. I can mostly roll with the houseguest that is my mother, but it definitely stresses DH, which stresses me.

Same, mapleme It's not so much that I get stressed, as that J get stressed. He's the SAHP, so having guests means they are hanging around with him and he's used to having some solitude, as much as one can have solitude with a toddler. He also likes to stay up late and play video games at night and having guests puts a damper on that since the guest room is on the other side of the wall from the tv.

I like house guests. But I also have never had a parent or in-law stay with me, only my aunts and uncles and sister and a few members of A's family.
I also get along well with basically everyone who would stay with us. So.
