I got up with Mallory so A could sleep in a little. But she snuck in there and woke him up and made him get up to read her a book lol.

morning! It's ridiculously cold here, so other than picking up B at school this afternoon, I don't plan on leaving this warm house.

Morning. Last night when I was work I discovered my friend was in and she had her baby. She hasn’t texted me yet with a name and pic, and I want it. I don’t want to bug her though. Both big girls have a doctor appt in an hour, where hopefully they both get a note saying they can go back to school. Neither have a fever today. My sister might stop by this afternoon to visit, but otherwise nothing else happening.

Also very happy it's Friday. I'm hoping to get plenty done today so I don't have to work late and over the weekend like last week...I worked until 1030 Friday night, 4 hours Saturday and 3 hours Sunday. I think these kind of hours are the expectation for the new company. So I opened up my indeed search to include office manager positions instead of just purchasing. I really feel like I'm being set up to fail so I'd rather leave on my own terms.

My drivers are cracking me up. I sent an email the week of my surgery to let them know I was depositing payroll a day early since payroll day was surgery day. I put in there that I was fine and it was elective. One by one each has called to try and get it out of me 😂 nosey old men. One outright asked so I told him and he got real quiet and awkward. Don't ask if you don't want to know 🤷♀️

Morning...my Friday started like a Monday. Hopefully it perks up soon. I have been trying hard to cut out soda/caffeine. They really affect my anxiety and reflux pretty bad. But it’s harrrrd. So I haven’t been keeping it in the house and will occasionally get a soda when I am out and about. This morning I really neeeeeeeeeddddded a soda. So when I went to the store I bought a 20oz Pepsi. Got home, poured it over ice, then promptly knocked it over and lost it all 😩. So now I sit here...wallowing in my lack of soda. The struggle is real.

mwhip have you ever applied for any federal government jobs? I would assume there is a fair amount in your general area. Our purchasing agent is a GS9. And once you get in there is usually decent opportunity to bump up to other positions. Good benefits and leave, and steady job.

There is a position for the county that came up I was thinking about applying for, although it's very heavy in contracts and I don't have a lot of experience in that side of things. But I was going to submit my resume. Of course, I have to get into their website to do it instead of just submitting my resume through indeed. I'll probably do a thorough search for anything that sounds of interest over the weekend. I'm really regretting my decision to stay with the other job offers I've turned down over the past few years.

Post op appointment went good but I didn't get the tape off. 2 more weeks.. his experience is that's the magic time frame that helps with scaring. My mom also decided to have a consult with him and wants me to go, so I made the appointments for the same day. I'm now in the pedicure chair. I stopped at a friend's to drop off some baby clothes and ended up chatting for an hour. It was nice to catch up with her.

Appt went well, they ended up just doing a rapid test on H which came back negative. I didn’t expect it to be positive, so this is good news and now she can go back to school on Monday.

I checked my email after that last post and got one from the preschool that one of S’s teachers tested positive for covid. I wish I would have had that before I went to the doctor appt. I sent a message to him to see if he wants to test S now.

I have spent half the day answering emails for work. Since I’m furloughed I don’t have access to my work email, they just send to my personal email. This is probably a once every 2 weeks thing. Sometimes it’s simple, sometimes it requires more back and forth. So I am saving all of them to make my case for converting me to year round. There are certain things I am the only one who handles. So when that stuff comes up in my furlough time they freak out and contact me to figure things out. I have a simple solution....make me year round! Of course the budget people see it as not such a simple answer. Lol.

Sent an email to the bosses that I wanted to open up a discussion on getting my hours back. They agreed that through the move I should be there full time and then we'll see after that. Really it's not even 40 hours since Friday's are half days. They were very receptive and seemed glad I came out and asked them.

TGIF. Man these weeks have been long. I've had extra work to do with my other job for the past several weeks and 2 more to go. I can't wait until I'm done with it for a while.
So far today has been a much better day for me than yesterday as far as work goes. I've got a lot accomplished so far and that feels good. I'm still got a few important things to get done.
I recently watched Love Guaranteed on Netflix. Predictable and cute watch.

It’s teacher in service day so I’m home with M. We dropped H off at pre-k and hit up Michael’s. We’re making a Valentine’s Day wreath with coffee filters and then another one is tissue paper roses. I doubt we’ll get to the rose one today. My MIL is watching the kids tonight. I think we’re picking up Thai.

We’ve opened up vaccines for 75+ here but they left it up to each city and town to decide how to disperse. There’s only 200 available in my Grams town and they are using the Special Needs Registry to determine who gets them. Honestly I don’t even know what that is but I’m sure my gray isn’t on it.
MA opens up on Monday and you can make appointments now but nowhere on Cape Cod has it for DHs grandfather. It’s all so frustrating.
Other than COVID stuff, today has been good. I’m sitting on a table waiting for my annual physical. Stupid weight here is 7# more than home. I couldn’t take off my sneakers, it’s late in the day and I’m wearing a heavy sweatshirt so I know between that and the different scales it’s fine. I just hate seeing it. I have a fear of Drs from getting so many weight lectures over the years.

Apparently there will be no valentine's passed out this year. We of course already had Cadence's planned and partially purchased. 😑 The teacher said they are making a goody bag to hand out at the "party". So I asked if Cadence could add her Valentine's to it. Nope. And yet in the sign up sheet it asked for valentine trinkets....that's the same thing!!! I'm annoyed and thus not contributing....unless I see that no one is, then of course I will. She said they are making a virtual valentine. Must EVERYTHING be virtual???

If any other symptoms pop up I’ll get her tested with the PCR test.

I got info on H’s valentines party. She can bring valentines for all of her friends, a special treat for only herself to eat at the party and then they will be sending home the valentines to open. No mention of sending them early or anything.

Our school won’t allow the kids or staff to return unless it’s a negative PCR since the rapids are so inaccurate. I’ve heard get the rapid and if negative get a pcr. If positive you have Covid. So trust a positive rapid but not a negative.
Just like all things Covid, nothing is clear and everywhere is doing it differently!

No Valentine's here (unsure what regular school is doing but we are virtual) but I let the kids pick some out and we will deliver to neighborhood friends and family so they still have some of the fun.

I got a lot done at work today so that felt good. Now we're sitting and waiting for take out. Like others we're sick of the places close by so we drove to one of the restaurants we like and thought we'd just wait here so it will be fresh and maybe even eat in the car.

Spoke with the girl scout leader and we're going to do a mini valentine exchange so that the girls still get to make boxes and do a porch drop off. Cadence made heart crayons and we got little valentine coloring books to go with them. She's really excited about them, so Im glad she can actually pass them out.
