Oh man. I’m sorry, STP. My best friend dog, a Border Collie, really lost his inhibitions the last few years of his life and it was super hard. It was frustrating but also I knew he wasn’t doing it on purpose. It’s so unfair. Big hugs, friend.

And she’s always been an asshole. So. I skipped ahead and got to this part and thought you were talking about the woman from FB and I was like oh no what happened. Should have read the thread haha

Scout looks so grumpy. All those gates are really cramping her style.

Scout looks so grumpy. All those gates are really cramping her style. She had also just discovered the magnetic lock was still on the pantry. My house looks like a toddler lives here 🤦♀️

Love a happy ending!
I’ve sprayed citrus oil on toys/pillows to keep the dog away. My dog definitely hates that smell.

I'm so glad this worked out for you! Great job lolacachia!! STP, would it help if STD had something of her own that smelled like your DS? Or would that just exacerbate the issue? I'm sorry this has been so challenging for you. I hope you know what an amazing human you are. Every pet should be so lucky to have an owner like you.

How do you eat a crate? Is the crate damaged or scouts teeth?
Also this was amazing.
My dd uses a burp cloth as a lovey. But only a certain kind that I can't find at target anymore. My local mom group helped secure me a back up which was so nice because I don't know any of them irl.

My local mom group helped secure me a back up which was so nice because I don't know any of them irl. She slowly, quietly chewed up the reinforced plastic of the first one. Second one she systematically chewed on the joiners on the corners until the sides collapsed. Third one we took away when she started on it bc she was determined.

I'm sorry this has been so challenging for you. I hope you know what an amazing human you are. Every pet should be so lucky to have an owner like you. I’m worried she’d get confused as to what was hers then. Thing is, she’s left Frank alone for 8 years no problem. She’s never eaten their toys or lovies before. Even when she was decimating underwear and stuff, she didn’t destroy those kinds of things. I think she doesn’t feel “normal” any more and that’s driving her actions. We’re working on some tools with the vet’s input. And I got her some bully sticks for older dogs, so she has something to work on.

As asshole as she is, she’s been a house training champ for a long time so as long as we closed hampers, she was ok to be free in the house and has been since she was a baby.
So it’s a tough adjustment for her to be limited. It doesn’t change it, but it’s not helping her anxiety, you know?
She’s just old and cranky. Bless her heart.

Our rottie pulled the bars off and opened up a 4"x4" square, and then somehow squeezed her (fully grown Rottweiler) self through that hole. The shit they can do when determined is amazing. We won't talk about what a moron mine was because she knew how to use her tongue to open the latches but opted for the potentially deadly magic trick instead.

If anyone doubts that goodness exists HIH and lolacachia removes all doubts.
I actually told my H this story and he said "wow, they take being thoughtful to a whole new level"

We had a dog (very anxious even with meds) that chewed a hole in the middle of the wall.... drywall..... and jumped through to meet us at the top of the stairs when we got home from work that day.. he was a rascal that one.

rosalind also found the smaller version, and he’s nestled in a safe space in my laundry room, on the highest shelf in the house. You’re all amazing. Just to show how much this means, a pic DS drew when he was 4 of Frank. He’s truly a beloved monster.
