I failed my 1 h this morning (142) and am super bummed. Another thing I didn't have to deal with with the twins. Those of you who have taken the 3 h, how did you feel during the test? I very much have an aversion to puking so I'm nervous for it because I've heard horror stories.

I just took it Friday. It was fine.
They had me drink the same drink as the first one. I did mine first thing in the morning and was super thirsty (I usually drink a big thing of water first thing in the morning) because I was told to fast/no water or other beverages after midnight. They took a blood draw, had me drink the drink, then did blood draws every hour for 3 hours. The only thing that made me nauseous was sitting in the lobby with my mask on the whole time, but that’s just because my nose is so stuffy I’m a mouth breather and it was just too. much.
I ate like a pig right after though, it was glorious.

Also, I failed with like a 139 on the first one, and passed the 3 hour. My understanding is it’s really easy to fail the 1 hour and doesn’t automatically mean you’ll fail the 3.

Thanks mothafuckinteatime, that's reassuring. I'll be taking it first thing tomorrow morning. I guess that's one plus to doing it here at the hospital, at least I have a bed and private bathroom in case it makes me feel awful.

I failed the 1 hr and passed the 3 hour with DS. It wasn’t fun, but it was ok. I was lucky that they had me in the infusion suite, so I had a super comfy chair, tv. Also brought my computer and IPad to pass the time. It was kind of nice to be alone for 3 hrs, but it got boring. And by the end I was hungry/felt junky. I recommend bringing a healthy snack or meal to eat as soon as your last blood draw is done.

I took the three hour a few weeks ago and I took it with my first baby as well and honestly it was fine. I didn’t feel bad at all just hungry.

Thanks, ladies! I am definitely making sure to order breakfast so that it will arrive right after my last draw so I can stuff my face accordingly.

Something’s in the water on our board because I just got the call saying I failed the 1 hour test and have to take the 3 hour ☹️. Thanks for making this thread! With my husbands work and not having other childcare idk how I’ll find the time to go do it.

I feel like it's super common to fail the 1 hr test and pass the 3 hr test. Have you gotten results back yet, pbandj714?

I failed. Passed fasting and 1 h but was high on 2 and 3 h.
On the upside, I'm home!! Can't wait to manage this on top of just being generally worthless in bed trying to keep this placenta attached. Welcome to my pity party.

Welcome to my pity party. I’m glad you’re home but having GD on top of things is really lousy. I’m sorry!

Sorry for the GD diagnosis pbandj714. I hope it’s easily managed. I did the three hour test this morning. I felt pretty good until the last hour. Luckily there’s a sandwich place across the street. I never inhaled a meal that fast in my life! Lol I haven’t felt very well the past few weeks so I’ve convinced myself GD is the reason. I guess I’ll just be pleasantly surprised if I pass!

Fingers crossed for you! So far, my numbers have looked great as long as I'm careful. It's not quite as awful as I imagined, but damn will I be happy when I can eat all my favorite carbs (in excess) again!

Got the call this morning that all three of the blood draws were abnormal. So I’m waiting for my testing supplies and have an appointment set up with a nutritionist. H has been doing his best Wilford Brimley impression all day.
