. There better be some damn good chess being played here or else I really hate this. I'm wondering if it's not because it hasn't been proven in court. The whole alleged thing. And they are likely playing this one as cautious as possible and don't want an appeal on something like them making those claims to the media during an active investigation or something. I doubt they are doing the whole intent to assassinate (or whatever the legal term is 🤣) from the case, just from the media.

And I wish I could make the pillow guy make sense. All I can come up with is he's desperate for approval from anyone he can get it from. His people are dropping like flies.

I love that all of them are saying they did it because dear leader told them to. It's gonna be hard to defend against that. This is a lovely compilation and more from the interview above at the end. Zero remorse or shame. They all need to be locked up.

I do wish the media would stop using the term "anarchy". Anarchy is an ideology that is on the opposite end of the spectrum as authoritarianism. It's not just lawlessness. The mob didn't want anarchy, they wanted authoritarianism.

I've been reading the subreddits QanonCasualties and ReQovery and this has been shockingly common.

My FFSC is I once many years ago (before I knew about the owner) bought a mypillow on Amazon prime day. I hoped it would help my snoring. It was the shittiest pillow I’ve ever owned. At least I got it on deep discount.

So many Trumpers seem so die-hard tRump, not really even identifying as Republicans. It’s about him, not political party exactly. I’m not articulating it very well, but I’m in awe of how many people put their lives on the line in support of him last week. I don’t get it. I liked Obama, but I would not be dying for him. Or any politician, ever.

But she felt the party didn't support her enough. She obviously voted Obama then. And then she liked him so she voted for him again. But then 2016 came and she was feeling even more bitter about the democratic party. I think trumps talk of "drain the swamp" really struck a cord with her and the whole run the country like a business thing. But somewhere she picked up a pair of blinders or something because even after the attack she was still pro trump and defending him. H called her out on every excuse with links and research proving her wrong. I never heard how she feels now but I doubt she is against him and probably thinks the impeachment is just ridiculous. Its just such a 180 from the woman I knew. I think it mostly started with his platform and gift of bullshit that sucked her in and then people picking apart his every word to make fun of him got her defending him and its just gone from there. But somewhere she also has forgotten all the shit Obama put up with. I actually asked H in 2016 if she needed to have her head checked because it was such a swing.

I won’t write anyone off for voting for him in 2016. I’m still mad and we all knew how terrible he was, but I know the “running the country like a business” reeled many people in. Fine. I’m still mad, but fine. But I cannot understand how anyone voted for him again! It’s unbelievable. My IL’s voted for him both times, too, and they really have no explanation for why. And I wasn’t meaning to imply your MIL would have died for Trump, BTW. I was just thinking out loud about his followers as a whole.

A lot of this sounds so much like MIL (except for the running for office part obviously). It was like she had to defend everything he did no matter how terrible. Everytime something happened that I thought for sure no one could defend, they dug in deeper. I always thought ok THIS has to be the thing... Child seperation to his terrible covid response to freaking insurrection and she is still defending him. I will NEVER understand. And don't get me started with the people who worship him and wear shirts of his face on a muscular body. It's just so pathetic and gross.

Child seperation to his terrible covid response to freaking insurrection and she is still defending him. I will NEVER understand. And don't get me started with the people who worship him and wear shirts of his face on a muscular body. It's just so pathetic and gross. I think the being reeled in by his "run it like a business" and "drain the swamp" part is pretty common. Then it's like once they have done that they are in a position of defending their stance because to admit otherwise makes them feel a fool. I have been listening to/reading a book about ADHD but it has a part in there about negotiations and it had a section I feel kinda applies here: "1. Separate the people from the problem The idea here is to get people's ego and pride disentangled from whatever the problem is so that the problem can be attacked without fear of attacking any person in the process. If the person is attached to the problem, the person may never change his mind, no matter how reasonable the solution, because he doesn't want to lose face. 2. Interests: Focus on interests, not positions This is what separates negotiation from debating. A debating team defends - or attacks- a certain position, no matter what. It is its sole interest to do that. Like an infantry, its position is its interest. Negotiation should never become debating (or trench warfare). In negotiation people have many interests, and it is the interests, not some debating position, that need to be satisfied. Indeed, one's position may sometimes go against one's interests and one does not want to be so identified with one's position that one cannot change it. This is particularly true with adolescents, who can back themselves in a corner during an argument so that they end up, out of pride, defending a position they really don't want at all." I think the trumpers have spent the last 4 years being attacked for their stance (not saying it's unwarranted but just hear me out) which has made them dig so hard into that stance so they don't lose face and eventually they are so deep in it that they have convinced themselves he's not a horrible person to justify it for themselves. I'm not excusing them at all. I just really struggle with why. I need to know why to pretty much everything. ETA: There's 3 more points to the negotiation stuff in the book but these 2 stood out to me as maybe a why.

Our county went to Obama for both terms then flipped to Trump for both terms. Drain the swamp and running the country like a business definitely made everyone switch. So many here are die hard Trump backers and still have Trump signs and flags. On the way to town someone has a giant “fuck Biden” flag on their barn.
No one here gained anything during Trump’s presidency. A lot have lost their jobs in the mines and oil and gas fields. Trump promised he would keep those jobs, but so many are still laid off. Yet they are still so loyal. I don’t get it.
