I think I'm back on the correct side of Tiktok. Thanks everyone! In other news, MH is already sick of Tiktok 😂 My phone doesn’t understand TIKTOK. It autocorrects it into all caps and I just can’t. But I feel like an old when I’m like hey have you seen that TIKTOK?????

I really hope there's a thorough investigation that gets to the bottom of all this.

This is a good thread on why impeachment now is the right move. Here is where I’m confused. This absolutely needs to be done. Why not explore the 14th A S3? It seems to fit exactly what is happening. Why isn’t Pelosi or whomever taking this avenue which, I would think, has a more stringent timeline. Wouldn’t it then also for to the rest of his camp and those who still voted, on record, to continue with his coup? ETA: for the group, not only jaygee

I read that Clyburn thinks they should wait until after Biden’s first 100 days to give him time to accomplish some of his agenda before any impeachment trial. I just absolutely do not agree. Justice needs to be swift in order to discourage anything like this from happening in the future and to send a strong message to the people involved and the ones who sympathize with them. The severity of anything faded with time and people are more willing to move on and let things go.

I seen another Tweet about this from a not-blue-check person, but didn't know if it were true or not. Looks like it is 🤬. I'm confused by this. So Whip Clyburn has a regular congressional office in the Rayburn House Office Building like any other member (across a couple of different buildings) and that's completely google-able. Google "James Clyburn office" and it's right there. It's also on his clyburn.house.gov site. He also has a Whip office off the floor. Both have his name on them. So is he saying they found a third separate office he has that's not findable? It's completely possible, I'm just saying I've never heard of this. I'm not doubting what the Congressman is saying, I'm just trying to understand.

I’m not sure but I read some of the first interview he gave on this and it sounds like he has an unmarked office that he primarily uses. Why is unclear but that is his practice. Honestly, I’m not sure I’m with him on this. I think it was chaos and they were barging into every room. But maybe I’m not understanding. I often have trouble following his words. Great man, but a little difficult for me to understand sometimes.

ETA: for the group, not only jaygee I'm not sure there is a process for this, as the section is mostly to prevent those people from being elected in the first place. We should definitely be bringing it up for discussion though, especially for the sitting Senators and Congressmen and women who supported this coup.

I gues that section was more to keep former Confederates from holding office after the Civil War and probably hasn't really come up since. What a time to be alive.

After years and years of Fox etc normalizing violence, I'm not surprised to read that the "normal" attendees were just fine with everything going on at the Capitol.

I am inclined to think they were just ripping open and trashing every office they could.

He doesn’t want people to put stimulus dollars in savings. that’s not fair. He wants it more targeted to out of work people. Which ok. But still. I kind of understand that sentiment, but sending it to everyone is the quickest/easiest I'd also like to see some stats on how people spent it the first time around. For us it was a bonus and we spent it on small businesses and painting our home exterior, which was also economically stimulating because local contractor, and I know we weren't alone. Obviously that is beneficial as well. I would be fine with means testing as well. We don't need it; however we will probably spend it on yard projects if it was received. I think Manchin is overestimating how many people will save it.
