Seeing as booarogue turned this into a PT thread (troll....lol). I am keeping an eye on M. He is starting to show some readiness, but I don't think completely. I might try a bit when I'm off the second week in August. I am going to re-introduce cloth diapers this weekend though. We used them until I went back to work in September. Then I decided to give myself a break to get settled back into work etc. Well it's about a year now...guess I'm settled. Lol. Kidding, but think it is a nice in between to see if he can show a bit more readiness. His daycare will work on it whenever we want, but he just transitioned to this new centre, so I don't want to overwhelm him. Basically we will see....

I'm trying to shop for clothes. And I realized I have no idea what I'm doing. Like I haven't shopped for clothes in like 5 years. I've been either pregnant or in between. Looks like I need to search Pinterest for ideas.

So after my first viewing of trolls I thought I didn't like it. Well....now I love it. We are obsessed. We watch the movie all the time, we listen to the soundtrack, she has a trolls activity book, and I plan to do trolls for Halloween. How cute would Poppy and baby Poppy be?
I may need to actually cool it.

Anyone use the Hip2Save blog? It's a good one. Anyway, she has a post about getting the Instant Pot from Kohl's for $63 (shipped). If you have a Kohl's card. DH does! Woo hoo!

Looks like I need to search Pinterest for ideas. Same. H keeps giving me a hard time for buying so much new stuff but seriously, I've been either pregnant or planning to get pregnant again soon for almost 5 years so I hardly bought anything. Now I'm doing a complete overhaul. Underwear, pajamas, athletic clothes, everything. Also, before babies I worked full time so the majority of my wardrobe was business casual. I just need completely different things now. Ugh yes, my wardrobe is in such a state of flux, TTC, pregnant, nursing, pregnant, then I will be nursing again. So many different sizes and needs.

45thparallel,GL with the appointment. I understand feeling conflicted by this. Thanks for the support. I feel helpless in this bc it is a French language assessment and treatment program we were in - so the things she needs help with I cannot provide. We were told she is mildly behind in comprehension and production. Although they only said comprehension because she didn't understand the specific way they asked her what her name was - in French there are a few ways and she didn't understand the "formal" way. We are waitlisted now for the 1 on 1 meetings they recommend. Shitty part is the waitlist can take up to a year. Arrrg. Sorry for the thoughts dump.

Looks like I need to search Pinterest for ideas. I spent about 2 months planning what I wanted for a wardrobe before I went back to work. So happy I did. Pinterest was such a help with planning what pieces I needed. What are you searching for clothes for? Work? Home? With the kids?

Love it skinandbones!! @45thparellel I hoped you'd have an update on here. That must be so hard having everything in a language you're not fluent in. I'm sure it's the bilingual household and in kindergarten she'll just catch right up! It's a shitty helpless feeling though, I hope the waitlist moves more quickly than expected!

Fun evening. We went to go get ice cream and played at an indoor playground. Ava made friends with a little girl about her age. I was creeping on their interaction and A said "oh, I like your shirt!" And tried to give the other little girl a hug. She is just so sweet, it makes me ache. I dread the day she gets her feelings hurt.

45thparallel that must be such a difficult place to be within a bilingual family. Just curious, what was their take on how your bilingual family plays a role? Hopefully she just needs the time to catch up, and perhaps by the time she comes up on the waitlist she won't need it. Do you have any private benefits to cover any in the meantime? If so, I think some private practitioners can be creative in how they bill in order to maximize the therapy received (like bill some to you for parent consultation etc.).

skinandbones looks great. I'm impressed your nose isn't swollen! Lol! I remember when I had mine pierce it got swollen and red for a few days. My skin apparently doesn't like to fix itself, so once a hole is there it stays! Lol! I lost my nose ring and went without for about two years and decided to put it back in last year. No problem! Lol! I think I can still get a small lip ring back in if I wanted! Lol

I did, redandblue! I am very excited to start using it. My next door neighbor uses one too so if I get any good recipes/tips from her, I will share. I know she has a recipe for beans that she likes. Off to GD to read anything new on the Instant Pot thread...

I'm sure it's the bilingual household and in kindergarten she'll just catch right up! It's a shitty helpless feeling though, I hope the waitlist moves more quickly than expected! Me too! We were given a stack of papers with a ton of activities to do with her to help in the mean time. The dr understood my concern with the wait (and knowing my background) so she gave me the activities that she does with kids one on one so I can try and translate them to english and do them at home. My Bf will have to spearhead the french side - no way will I ever be sure whether things are masculine or feminine! Having something concrete to do with her in the meantime is helping me feel better about this.

I was happy to hear that they were up on the research that a bilingual home doesn't create language delays, but when there is one present it can be a bit more noticeable. We were told to keep up with both languages and if she starts showing a preference or bias that hinders one language to compensate accordingly. I looked into private before we got into the most recent class. Its worth looking into it again tho!

45thparallel I will join you in a drink . Having a beer on the deck and hand 'sewing' new fabric on a bench cushion for the front hallway. I bought some gel table top fire pit cans and have some candles going, enjoying the fresh evening, pretending I'm by a campfire!
