vino those look amazing! I’m stealing that idea! Did he burn those owls and butterflies into the wood? He did! He traced them onto the wood, burnt them, did a varnish layer I think, then a couple layers of epoxy to seal it. He carved out the bottom to a small-ish pointe and added some sort of base.

Quiet day here, I'm enjoying being off work. There was a house fire on the street behind us early this morning, thankfully it was empty and being renovated so no one was home, but kind of scary. Sounds like a fuse caused it or something. We noticed helicopters but no sirens, so either our noise machines work too well or they didn't use sirens.
N and I did two target pickups - got some pillowfort curtains for the kids bc their stuff was 40% off yesterday, so I hope I like them. And costco instacart pulled through with wrapping paper in stock, bc I was starting to sweat bc I couldn't find any for pickup anywhere.

tgrimes my Aunt and her H have it. They were pretty sure covid was fake. Apparently, her H went to a pig fair with a friend. The next day that friend called and said he tested positive. SO I'm guessing the dude was in quarantine waiting on test results, but didn't quarantine properly. Either way her H got it and is pretty sick. He did a rapid test that came back negative, but his cardiologist said to take a 48 hour test, which came back positive. Now my Aunt has it too. I looked at her FB page to see if she took down all her "covid is a hoax" stuff, but nope its all still there. Wonder if she's changed her tune now though.

Those are serious skills! I told him that we found his retired from the military job, although that's in 4 years...so maybe a retired from ALL working jobs would have been a better angle. I dont need him putzing in the garage as a pensioner from the age of 45.

Hope everyone has a mild case. tgrimesM is usually my kid I don’t mind being home with because he does his own thing. Well these past two days he has been hanging around me and just bugging. I’m sure it just him being excited that Christmas is almost here, but can you be excited from 6 feet away and not climbing and popping bubble wrap right in my face.

So my Usps daily email says one of the packages from this weekend is coming today. We shall see. S’s meds came today finally after I jumped through hoops to get a temporary fill locally. Now, MH’s Xmas present. I’ve left that up to the universe. No telling when it will arrive. It was supposed to be here last Friday.

We just had lunch and its only 11:15. We normally eat lunch at 1. But M's teach made the schedule how it is at school and so we followed it. Hoping to get mj to nap on his break so I can get some work done. Girl has been on a destruction streak and I can't leave her alone for more than 2 minutes without all hell breaking loose. She is on the table or counter constantly. I can not keep her down. And when I'm folding laundry, she runs off with folded clothes. So I fold everything 2 or 3 times. I cant cook or clean without her destroying 12 other things. I'm about to lose my damn mind. And M's music assignment yesterday was to make an instrument..... who's grand idea was that???? so he's been making instruments and playing them. I need a drink. So, this is how S is and has been since that age. Unless she has a device in her hands. So I feel for you. My forever toddler is aging me at a very rapid rate!

Kids are in, lasagna leftovers consumed. Bed-time in t-minus 44 minutes.
(and obviously +1 to looking forward to bedtime basically every day...lately that is my only time to relax).
Speaking of, has anyone seen the thing going around on FB about the Muslim guy who wrote his observations about Christmas after spending it with friends? He described celebrating Christmas as a part-time job running from mid- November to 12/25. B/n the kids birthdays, being solo, new house requiring new/more stuff...truer words were never spoken!

Hey. Long day. Both kids had their last day of school today, Christmas break has officially begun. I still have a headache today, I assume from the vax, so I ended up napping with V this afternoon. My coworker took my shift tonight so I’m home. I think I’ll roll out the cookie dough, cut them out and get them baked so we can decorate them tomorrow.

Thanks. 😄 Captured the mood of 2020. It was hand sanitizer. I figured afterward it wouldn't be that obvious and want to get a few more shots holding it differently so it was more obvious, but MH and FiL (who took the pictures) were in a rush.
