FUCKING NOSEBLEEDS. That’s the rant. Ugghhhh. I just bled all over my shirt. that was my life when I was pregnant. Had them several times a week too. I never had them with my previous two pregnancies. Luckily I don't get them often, but this was my third this time around. Always in the right nostril, always completely out of nowhere. Unexpected benefit of wearing a mask at work: I can stick tissue up my nose and no one knows (not that they would care).

First appointment this afternoon! Strong heartbeat, feels like a singleton. I got like 5 tubes of blood drawn, so I'm feeling extra awful after that.

Nonniedee thatgolfb I don’t recall when you’re due exactly but I believe soon. How are you feeling?

Nonniedee thatgolfb I don’t recall when you’re due exactly but I believe soon. How are you feeling? I’m due 7/21 I’m…. Not my best tbh, but I’m taking it in stride. Nausea and vomiting are still happening, and I just have a million things to do with no energy to do them. I’ve had intense prodromal labor, but only after strenuous days. I’m honestly hoping she stays put until her due date. I still have things to buy/do

What do you still need for you and baby (or even the family)?

babybean my EDD is 7/29, but I have my induction set for 7/22 if baby doesn’t come earlier. I have an appt on Thursday and plan to check to see it that’s still okay. Baby was breech for a while (head down now, fortunately) and head is still measuring a bit small (normal for breech babies because they have less room?). But overall baby was measuring about 6 lb at 36 weeks, almost exactly average. I am feeling mostly okay. I caught my kids’ cold and of course it’s lingering for me. At least it isn’t covid, but I’m all stuffed up and can’t take anything for it. And I’m just huge. I can’t walk much without my back killing me. But I just have one last day of work on Tuesday and then I can relax a bit more at home and finish preparing things. Im done with all the big stuff like bassinet. I am having some bouts of anxiety which isn’t like me. Im keeping an eye on it, in case it manifests as PPA (which I haven’t had before, fortunately). I think once I’m done with work, that will alleviate some pressure.

thatgolfb yay for some down time from work before baby arrives. I’m sorry you’re sick and sore though. Pregnancy in July is no joke.

So, this will be long, just a warning.
The pay few months have kinda been curve ball after curveball. Recently, my sister planned a baby shower for my birthday. It was supposed to be this big surprise because I’ve never had a shower or a birthday party.
It fell through because she lives across the country, and was the only one planning anything. My siblings were pretty much uncooperative. In the end, she couldn’t secure a venue at her price point.
She was really torn up about it, and felt like shit for not being able to make it happen.
She asked if it would be ok to do a small cookout the next weekend, so I’d at least have something. I said that’d be fine, I’d be happy with whatever. So, she called my siblings to organize a cookout, but my nephew’s birthday was that weekend, and they had plans for him. I said I just wanted to see the kids since it’s been almost 2 years since I was last around them.
So they began planning a baby shower/3rd birthday. My sister instructed them to buy off my registry, so things could be sent directly to my home. I don’t drive, and the cookout was a train ride away.
Long story short, there was no baby shower. I showed up to a puppy dog pal themed event. I enjoyed my time with my nephews, and my kids had a blast. Nobody even glanced at my registry, they stopped on the way and bought a few outfits from target. I’m grateful to get whatever, but they asked what I needed, and I told them specifically.
I know people love buying baby clothes, but I didn’t need baby clothes.
Anyway, I ended up spending money to attend and having to haul target bags back on the train.
I wasn’t expecting anything extravagant, and I didn’t want that either, just a nice time with family.
So then, my sister came from across the country to spend a week with me. She was very helpful, and I’m so grateful she did that. But she and my mom are taking off for the rest of the summer. I was hoping my mom would be available to help out for like a week when the baby comes, but no go. She’s actually moving to a different state, so she’ll be busy with that.
The past few weeks we’ve had to make big purchases because things have just stopped working lol. Like 7 repairs or replacements at once.
I feel like shit that I haven’t been able to get us in a bigger place. I feel like I’m failing my kids. It’s so hard, and things are constantly falling through. So now, we’re doing our best with what we have, and it’s involved a lot of elbow grease and organization.
I am proud of myself for securing the summer camp spots. I didn’t want them cooped up with a crying baby.
Hoping there’s some big picture reason why things haven’t worked out how I’d like them to.
Thanks for letting me get that out, it really does help

Nonniedee, your feelings are valid. I would be disappointed. If you’re cool with it, can you share your registry? Or if you don’t mind messaging me a link

Nonniedee, I never come in this thread. Probably wouldn't have tnt, save for a bottle of red. I was at my MILs earlier amd she and her brothers were talking about their fond memories of growing up in Gerretsons Beach, BK. In a tiny 2 bedroom place. 5 people, 2 tiny bedrooms. What they talked about was the memories and good times, not the space.

It’s one of those things that eat me up because they’re such great kids, and I want to do my best for them.

Nonniedee I’m sorry you were dismissed like that, it’s a special kind of hurt that I don’t think everyone understands. Please drop that registry link so we can help celebrate you and baby! I get needing to vent just to be heard versus wanting advice or input, so I’ll keep it short and just remind you that you’re an amazing mother. Your babies are so lucky to have you and the last thing you’re doing is failing them. I’m sorry for the stress and financial strain. If there’s a way for us to collectively lessen the load don’t hesitate to ask. ♥️

And while I know y’all do things out of kindness, I don’t ever want take advantage. We have a lot of blessings in our lives, and are fortunate in a lot of ways. Things could be and have been A LOT worse

Nonniedee I’m so sorry things didn’t work out. I would have been quite upset, too. I know the feeling of constantly being put on the back burner and not made a priority at all. <hugs>

Nonniedee I’m sorry things have been tough but it sounds like you’re giving everything to your kids for them to have good memories of this time. Please PM me your registry if you’re comfortable. I’m in Westchester so if there is anything I can ever help with let me know. I’m not due until end of September with my third so I have my “energy” now lol.

Today is the last day of my first trimester. I feel like I see glimmers of hope in the nausea department. I haven't puked in two weeks.
I'm so ready to be done with is possibly my last first tri ever.

miawallace willow and anyone else with 2 kids in the same room - what monitors do you have/recommend? If my twins will be in the same room should I get a monitor with 2 cameras? Or 1 camera?

That was my biggest requirement. Only problem we've had is slow loading but we've been having WiFi issues so i don't think it's the monitor. ETA very small bedroom but i can see both kids in the two corners of the room. We have the monitor up by the top of the window.

I use an iBaby camera and have it mounted so that I can see into both cribs. My dad also got me these Kami cameras that were part of an indiegogo project and honestly I am not overly impressed with them. I use them sometimes to get closer views of the babies but mostly just use the one camera that can see into both.
