Technically, this is the last week of school and they already told us they wouldn't be continuing the aftercare program because the majority of the employees aka high school students, would be returning to F2F in the spring. So they wouldn't have enough staff to keep the program running. We had to find new arrangements for Jan-June. I’m sorry it had to end this abruptly! I hat these sudden changes, hopefully the kids aren’t too upset 😕. M will be devastated because her friend is moving over Christmas break so this would be their last week together.

Morning. I’m having a slow morning again. I need to try to get to UPS and the post office in a bit. Every time I have passed these places in the afternoon, there is a line out the door. Hope I can get in and out fairly quick today. I have to finish cleaning the rugs and carpet and start on the toy purging. I start back at work tomorrow for the rest of the week. Yes, I am seeing these monster lines here too. The PO is on one of the roads I need to drive on to get to B’s school and it created so much backup on Fri, that I was late getting there. I think I sat thru the same light about 3 times! I think the trick is to get there as soon as there open in the morning.

vino My half sister is still at my parents' house. They're still waiting to see the speech therapist. Augh. She is making my dad do his physical therapy exercises every day though and said he was able to eat some scrambled eggs yesterday.

klong11, I get it man. B has really been getting under my skin lately. I’m like - this is your chance to really make a last push on good behavior before Santa comes. She’s as rude as ever.

Just some slight tenderness with certain movements but he said the tendon inside takes a lot longer to fully heal.

Oh and I accidentally touched the stupid elf in front of Cadence this morning. She freaked out. So she said she would do some research today on how to heal the elf. I shut a cabinet too hard over the weekend and the elf fell. C burst into tears and told me that now he wouldn't get any presents because the elf couldn't go back to the North Pole. I reminded him that this happens before and I just need to put him back in the same spot without touching him. I used some tongs and put him back but C was distressed until the next morning to see if he moved. It was my first time regretting the elf.

chrisy01 will he be paid for his time off if he has to quarantine? I think it's too big of a company to qualify for the mandatory 2wks sick leave pay.

tgrimes , geeze you never get a break, do you? Can your MIL help Thursday/Friday? I hate to ask her because she already does so much and it's not like taking care of her parents was easy work, you know? Although M is usually an angel for her. I may just pay our babysitter to pick her up those 2 days.

klong11 I get it...my kid has been an absolute shit lately. She hasn't realized she has presents under the tree yet, but I constantly threaten that I will contact Santa and tell him to take her presents to a kids house who behaves. I daily find myself close to yelling because she just doesn't listen to anything I say.

Today was Evie's 2nd PT appointment. I went back with her for part of the appointment, but when they moved to a different area, I went back and sat in the front. I could still see and hear them, but she definitely opens up more when I'm not right there to answer questions for her, so I'm glad I left her. She said she had fun, so I'm really glad we got in.
My cleaning people are here right now, and just working.

Ugh. It’s 12:45. I came to town to go to the insurance office and the license office. The insurance office has a sign up that says in meetings be back by 2:30. The license office has a sign up that says out to lunch. Be back at 1:30. So I’m grabbing lunch at the local cafe. Hopefully that will kill enough time to hit up the license office for renewals and to get my “real ID” done. Then with some luck the insurance agent will be free. I was hoping to just make this a quick trip...but I guess it’s an all afternoon affair now.
The good news is that my cleaning lady is at the house so when I get home I wont have to do anything!

Tomorrow S has a follow up with her neuromuscular specialist for her hand issues. So we will leave at 7am...head to STL...appt at 10:50...go to my sisters and hang for a bit...then S has a dentist appt at 4:15...then we will make the trek back home. Probably won’t get home till after 8. It’s going to be a long day!

Hey. After I dropped S at school I ran to target (I never ended up going yesterday) and a local toy store that is close by. Picked up S and chipotle (they finally opened the first one in our city 2 weeks ago). V fell asleep on the way home so I took a quick shower and wrapped presents while S was occupied. I need to pick up a bit in case the ILs come over to watch the kids tonight. V is trying to grow up way too fast. She keeps getting up on her knees and rocking, she’s not even 6 months yet! She also is teething so crabby half the time. I avoid going to the post office by going to a local drugstore that has a post office thing at their customer service. Much faster. Sorry C was being a little shit klong11. I wish your H actually acted like a parent. Sometimes the things you say make it seem like he treats C like his little sister or something.

Why didn’t I think of this before. 🤦🏽♀️

The difference in quarantine rules in the country is crazy. Here you get quarantined if you so much as speak the name of someone with covid. I have a friend who is a teacher’s aid in another state who had a student in her class with it and all they did was make the sick kid stay home. Another set of friends are husband and wife, both nurses in separate hospitals. One got covid and the other called to say he couldn’t come in because his wife had covid and he was told as long as he had no symptoms, it was fine (he does not work with covid patients). So frustrating that we have so many rules and no better results. Just saw if NJ was a country, we’d have the highest covid death rate in the world.

Our post office has been nuts too...both times I had to wait for counter service bc I needed to do things the kiosk doesn’t support. So few people use the kiosk, though, and I really don’t get it...are they all paying with cash? Shipping internationally? Have all the time in the world? Idk.
I needed to mail my niece’s gifts so I went to a shipping business near where we met for lunch. No line, friendly service, and I feel good supporting a local business. I asked them if they’d like to expand to my neighborhood 😜

Good news on the PT front mwhip! I’m still trying to decide what to do for dinner...rotisserie chicken from Publix or call an audible and get take-out. B just came in looking for $10 to buy a Pokémon card off a neighbor kid. I was like, ‘buddy, you realize you can get a whole pack for $10 at target, right?’ (He’s got tons and I bought more for his stocking). I admire the neighbor kid’s hustle but sorry, B, not letting you make that deal.

Yeah, admittedly my eyes glaze over when he starts telling me about it, so that may have been the deal of the century and we just missed it b/c I'm a cheapskate Apparently neighborhood hustler "is going to sell his cards for thousands of dollars on the internet", per B.
