Hi. Quiet morning here; C has ballet and then we're meeting my mom/dad/sister/nephew for lunch. She's due to be induced on Monday if she hasn't had the baby by then so this may be our last little outing with them for a bit!
I just finished my Christmas cards but am still deliberating sending one to my crazy aunt...my big decision for the day, ha.

Morning! The kids had their final day of school today, they went home in their Christmas’ finest & were very exited. Baby girl had ben restless & fidgety all day. Ds brought home his books and binders and worksheets, the house is a mess & I’m already stressed out on how we’re going to manage the five of us at home for the next five weeks without any of the normal outings...
I shouldn’t complain, most of you girls have been doing this for months and months. It just came out of the blue for everyone & timing for this sucks!
Tldr; I need to get a grip, keep calm and carry on, as the brits would say.

nam2013, you have every right to complain! You have a newborn! Plus, when it's out of the blue it's much more stressful.

And hello! Kids are restless, I'm restless. I typically always take them outside in between Clark's morning virtual learning sessions but it's so cold and I just didn't feel like it so we are playing in the basement. I'm sure I'll regret not getting them out.

I had to go to the extreme last night with Cadence and pull some of her presents from under the tree. I gave her multiple warnings so that I wouldn't have to, but there are now 3 wrapped presents from under the tree now in my closet that she has to earn back. I feel bad about doing it, but seriously nothing was getting through to her. It was also partly mh's fault. She didn't get her homework assignments done, so she was still screwing around with it when I got home. She had not done her cleaning at all. SO I said she needed to finish her school work and her cleaning task. She refused. She ran off with her at home tablet and it continued to escalate. The tablet was taken away, I talked with her about her work and she was just being lazy, it wasn't too hard for her. Then, I find out they were playing video games earlier and that's why nothing is done. WTF? So then mh starts yelling that he has his own stuff to do and it's hard for him to help her with school and do his work also. So I said, well, it couldn't be that hard if you two were playing video games. Not to mention that today is "band practice day" aka sitting at his buddy's house drinking and smoking and fiddling around with his guitar, for which he leaves at 3:30 for. I doubt his work even knows he leaves that early. Anyway, she has to "earn" the gifts back by getting her stuff done each day. In the end I'll probably just put them back under the tree, but I was just trying to get her to see that I'm seriously over her attitude about all thing. She told me that the gifts need to be returned to under the tree because if she wakes up and they aren't there then she is going to think the grinch took them and that will give her bad dreams. TLDR: my kid is still being a brat and got presents taken away for it. They will be returned to under the tree, but yeah....not my best parenting last night.

klong11 ugh I’m sorry. We all have parenting moments that we feel aren’t our finest. You’re an amazing mom, she knows that!

Oh and I accidentally touched the stupid elf in front of Cadence this morning. She freaked out. So she said she would do some research today on how to heal the elf.

Morning. I’m WFH. I’m making maps today. I haven’t had to do this since 2014/2015 so it’s a little rough looking but it should work. In theory. I’ve submitted my first 2 and waiting for the response to work in the rest.
The kids are crazy. E woke up calling for grandma. She thought grandma was here. She was not and cue the crying. The funny thing is she is not a fan of grandma normally. L then came in saying he missed grandma and grandpa
PDQ I will poof
C is freaking out. An employee tested positive and told their HR that she was not socially distancing with him and 2 other people during a meeting. So now they are all are quarantining for two weeks. One of the other people submitted proof that they were all following protocols and should not have to quarantine. He doesn’t know when HR will decide if they will change their minds or not. Tomorrow was a store review and he’s nervous his team won’t know what to do since they are all new to the department. I asked if the employee who lied (they have video footage of the meeting) will get in trouble and he said no.

Morning.
I’m having a slow morning again. I need to try to get to UPS and the post office in a bit. Every time I have passed these places in the afternoon, there is a line out the door. Hope I can get in and out fairly quick today.
I have to finish cleaning the rugs and carpet and start on the toy purging. I start back at work tomorrow for the rest of the week.

klong11 Meh, sometimes you have to find their currency and just go with it. If things need to change it's gotta start somewhere.

One of the other people she accused was the one who wrote the written (document on record card) and C was the manager who had to issue it to her because he was the manager on duty.

chrisy01 , which one lied? The one with proof or the other one? The one who has it. She said no one was social distancing during the meeting. The one with the video proof shows they were There is literally no point to lying, it could have been her perception of the meeting. Regardless of 6 feet or not, wouldn't everyone be considered a close contact and stay at home/get tested? So her lying or nattering about the meeting is kind of semantics.

I was going to say the same. Like if I got it I'd be so cautious about naming ANYONE I may have exposed. Especially if I were like, "ok were we 6 feet apart? 5? Did I slip my mask of to take a drink of water?"

Got back home and the pest control guy rang my doorbell. I completely forgot he was supposed to come today. I would have picked up some more in a couple rooms and straightened up if I had remembered. I’m sure he’s seen much worse, but I like for my house to be presentable when other people are over. 😬

Got an email from aftercare that a kindergartner tested positive so they're shutting the program down. Luckily I still have to work from home today and tomorrow. Not sure what I'm going to do for Thursday and Friday.

Technically, this is the last week of school and they already told us they wouldn't be continuing the aftercare program because the majority of the employees aka high school students, would be returning to F2F in the spring. So they wouldn't have enough staff to keep the program running. We had to find new arrangements for Jan-June.

I hat these sudden changes, hopefully the kids aren’t too upset 😕.
