What are you feeding your babies? Is it going well? Anything they don't like? Any questions/concerns/issues to bounce off the group?

We're doing mostly mashed stuff, with a few non-mashed. So far he's had: Applesauce Banana Avocado Blueberries Oatmeal Mum-mums and puffs Squash Carrots Turnip Potato Peas pudding Broccoli Chicken & turkey Egg Plain pasta Pasta with meat sauce (ground beef) Greek yogurt Peanut butter toast
So far he's doing well with everything. It took about a week to figure out what was happening and enjoy it lol. He's pretty good at self feeding (mum-mums, puffs, toast slices, pasta noodles), but hasn't figured out the sippy cup. I'm half tempted to get him a straw cup, but idonno if the water will end up coming out too fast with that.

We're doing BLW, so he generally eats what we eat at dinner as long as it's appropriate baby food (not sugary, salty, or hard). He's loved everything he's tried and eats so much that we have to cut him off because he's still supposed to get most of his nutrients from milk at 6 months.
He's eaten: roasted sweet potatoes roasted carrots acorn squash peas blueberries raspberries baked apples and pears banana avocado Oatmeal Egg noodles puffs to entertain him while the rest of us are still eating plain yogurt Salmon The tips of asparagus
I think there's more but I can't remember all of the foods at this point. He loves it and bangs on his tray for more!

We haven't done water yet, but that's mostly because I haven't washed the sippy cups yet.

We’re also doing BLW. I haven’t really kept a list of what we’ve given him, it’s pretty much what we eat for dinner and a couple snacks here and there. His absolute favorites so far have been shrimp (that was in a gumbo), avocado, and peanut butter on toast. Some other things we’ve done: Broccoli Red pepper (raw) Cucumber Chicken, a few different ways Pasta Asparagus Roasted red potatoes Eggs Steak Salmon But yeah he eats what we eat for dinner. It’s so fun feeding him because he actually gets excited to try new things. My first wasn’t into food at all. Here he is today, I gave him hummus on naan. Tonight I’m making scallops so I’m excited to see how he likes those.

I have been trying to do a combo of BLW and purees so far. My babies just seem very indifferent to everything so far pretty much, except for the rice crackers. Everything else they just stare at or don't try to eat, and with purees its very 50/50 whether they open their mouth and want to eat.
It's so weird. They are 8 months this week. My firstborn was obsessed with food and it was never an issue.

Example: Last night I gave them each a strawberry to try. They both just sat there, holding it or staring at it on the tray and just giggled or picked up and dropped it again over and over again. It's so bizarre to me that they both do the same thing too.

willow my second boy had zero interest in eating until around 10 months. I was actually starting to panic a little at the time lol. Then one day he was just like *k, I'm ready now*.

willow my middle kid also had no interest in food until about a year. I remember it being very distressing. Im also just doing BLW and I think T has had everything mentioned above except oatmeal and yogurt. He generally explores everything. Didn’t have much interest in hummus, but loves all other meats, fish/seafood, and beans. Steamed broccoli and mashed sweet potatoes are popular vegetables. Oh and pretzel sticks (with the salt wiped off). I’ve tried doing water from an open cup with help. He stares in wonder or laughs every time. I just don’t have any good sippy cups, so new ones will go in his stocking.

I’m not starting foods for a couple weeks yet, V will be 6 months on the 23rd, but I’m planning to start with purées. My first 2 were very different with eating so we will see how this one goes.

wasabi your picture from yesterday inspired G's dinner tonight lol. We had tacos, which would have been too spicy for him, so I took one of the mini tortilla bowls and put hummus on it for him. He had some sweet potato fries and guac on the side. Absolutely loved it.

We haven’t started foods yet either. I wait for 6 months and teeth. She turned 6 months on the 15th but she has no teeth yet.

I have V her first food yesterday, bananas, and she was not a fan in the slightest. She pretty much spit it all out. I’ll give her a day or two and then try again.

We just started solids within the last few weeks due to Cs belly issues. She hated mashed bananas but likes puréed from the store. She also hated avocado and carrots. So far she likes pears, apples, green beans, peas and sweet potatoes.
We’ve determined that’s she’s intolerant to dairy and eggs. Her GI said that we could try to introduce those things around 9 months.

What are we doing for sippy cups? I got a munchkin one at target and I kind of hate it. The handle snaps on the bottom and the second it it’s the floor (which is a lot) the handles pop off. I’m considering a straw cup or another, different sippy cup.

I’m considering a straw cup or another, different sippy cup. I think ours are Playtex. Very basic. We tried a straw this weekend when we were at my mom's and had forgotten to bring a cup, and he couldn't really figure it out. Edit: just double checked. Playtex Sipsters, Stage 1 soft spout cup.

I’m considering a straw cup or another, different sippy cup. I got these kind and they’re pretty good Philips Avent My Little Sippy Cup, Blue/Black (Pack of 2) www.amazon.com/dp/B01M690O9J/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_KWXdGbR5WFMX6?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1I tried the munchkin weighted straw cup but it’s so hard to suck out of it I couldn’t get M to figure it out. Today I just grabbed the take and toss kind just so he can figure out a straw and he started to get the idea. Hopefully once he figures it out he can start using the munchkin one.
