Job saga: MH got a call Friday about a position at a school in DC. I love the area and was a little excited at the prospect, but after knowing HCOL area and what it would take to get us there, I knew it wasn’t gonna happen. Head coach called him today and I was right. 🤦🏽♀️ It would be hard to enjoy anything there based on what the salary was. He has had to turn down other offers like this, too in the past couple months. Boo! That would have been fun to have you in the area. I can attest to this area being stupidly expensive or long commutes. Feel free to PM me if want any more info about the area. |

Work was super busy this morning but seems to have died off a bit. It is 37 degrees here right now (hot for vino but cold for tgrimes), but I am not letting it get in the way of me taking a walk later. Apparently RI now holds the record for the highest number of daily COVID cases per 100,000. Not the national record we want:( |

Hi Friends! I was catching up last night and feel out of the loop and annoyed with myself for falling behind. tgrimes I'm sorry things aren't great for your parents, I'm glad your siblings are helping out. Mh and I took the day off today. I had J's well visit and am charging my new dyson stick vacuum I got on sale at target (bought myself a gift card on sale this weekend and then used that to buy it- mental gymnastics to bring the price down). Finally got cards ordered last night, minted has some good quarantine themed ones so I overpaid. Hoping to get a tree tonight and drop off a picture at framebridge - seemed silly to sent it in when there's an actual store close by, but I didn't realize the hours suck, so haven't had a chance to do it yet. |

lahdeedah What a bummer. On the upside, it sounds like he's in demand...hopefully as the season winds down and more hiring/firing starts happening there'll be more openings to choose from.

At first I was like- hey we may end up having to live in an apartment, but it will be fun! Then I thought about paying for preschool for M2 and you mentioning school starting closer to 9- so before and after care, and I was like- yeah no way we end up being able to afford anywhere close. That salary is for a single person or a couple with no kids. It was fun to think about though. 🤷🏽♀️ |

Yeah, he gets new calls almost weekly. A lot of shuffle is about to happen, so we are just waiting. If nothing with college athletics shakes out, he has been told there is a tactical training position for him end of Jan/Feb, so we know he will have that. It’s in NC and I’m not thrilled with that location, but it would do. |

tgrimes I'm glad your half sister can stay for awhile, hopefully she can help convince them a move is necessary. Can your mom not handle the finances or are you just being precautionary and want to see where they are at and what they can afford? And WTF to you H leaving the house a mess again? As if you don't have enough shit to take care of! My dad has always done the finances. My mother knows nothing. But if they both die tomorrow, I need to know all of their stuff. But it would be nice to setup online bill pay and whatnot so they don't have to write out checks... |

I came home last night. The house is a freakin disaster....like much worse than the last time I left. I am not delighted. Ugh. I’m sorry. You should make YH and the kids help do most of it. Sooo.... two more weeks Of quarantine for work? 😈 I've pretty much spent all morning cleaning and doing laundry. Yup! I'm quarantining for work again.  |

Do you think your H would get his butt in gear to help if you told him (calmly) that you are extremely overwhelmed and need him to do XYZ? MH is pretty responsive with this stuff but when I was struggling with distance learning and maintaining everything I did this and was able to take the tasks and mental load that came with them off of my plate. Well, I thought so. But I specifically asked him to change the sheets and that didn't happen. He's complaining about being overwhelmed at work right now and since I have to work from home for the next 10 days, I'm sure he thought I'd just do it. Or it's my punishment for leaving him with the kids again. Who knows. |

Hey. I realized I never checked in yesterday. Nothing really to report, I worked in the am and then lazed around the house in the pm. This morning had been busy. I started listing baby clothes on fb marketplace. I also grabbed out the stuff from storage that V won’t be able to wear because of seasons. I’m ready to get this stuff out of my house. Of course I’m also doing the never ending laundry too. We went to petsmart after I picked S up at school, they have rescue kitties there and she wanted to see them. tgrimes sorry you came home to a mess. I hope your parents are receptive to moving to a LTC facility. It would still be nice if that could be near one of your houses. lahdeedah sorry the job didn’t work out. I hope the right one comes along soon. |

I got a text from mh saying Cadence won't stop eating candy. She just goes to the drawer without even asking.
I kindly pointed out that he was the one who didn't want to make family rules. I approached them about it last week and both of them quickly disagreed that we didn't need any house rules, that the chaos of our house is completely normal.
He has now changed his tune.
Also, I don't know why he was just watching her go to the candy drawer multiple times without telling her to stop. Rules on a posterboard aren't going to do anything if he isn't going to actively parent.

The partners called the accountant who is currently quarantining. She told them she no longer wanted to take over the office manager's position. That it was too much work.
So then they went to the office manager and offered her what she wanted in order to stay, which was just 18 hours a week. She declined the offer.
So now I don't know what they are going to do.
I let them know I am here to do whatever they need me to do. So the one partner started giving me stuff he would normally give to Smokey, his secretary. Uh, that's not what I meant!

I'm sorry for all the stress tgrimes. DH is always annoyed at me when I come home from work trips. He intentionally keeps the boys up so by the time I get home after a full day of traveling, I get stuck doing bath and bed solo for 2 overtired kids. And the house is always a wreck. I think if he did that after a trip to help out my parents that l may end up in jail... |

wedding I was supposed to take over the admin part of the job and the account was taking over the accounts payable/payroll etc. portion of it. They never really presented me with those tasks. Not even to tell me what all they were. Thus far I have basically taken over receptionist duties, dealing with promotions and client gifts, office maintenance, and my regular job of creating and tracking files, proofreading documents, etc. I'm not really qualified to do the accounting. I'm sure I could learn, but I don't know what their timeline is on everything. I may ask one of the partners tomorrow what's going on and where I stand as far as admin duties.

Happy birthday tallb! I hope a good offer comes through soon lahdeedah. tgrimes when MH is messy and gross I fantasize about cleaning up all the clutter and crap and dumping it on his side of the bed so he has a lovely surprise when he tries to go to bed. Got a lot done today. Feel good about it. Got way more wrapping than I planned so I'm mostly done except for the Santa gifts and I'm waiting closer to Christmas to wrap those. Discovered I'm pretty even with the girls but I had one more thing for Cass and it was a bigger item. So I ended up ordering M a rat cage. I'm going to let her know she needs to work harder before getting the actual rats, but this way she can start getting set up.
