I’m really pissed off. I signed up for a voluntary professional development training that was advertised as going from 9-3 for 3 days next week. I just got more info and it’s actually 10-5, which I wouldn’t have signed up for. It’s too late for me to back out, and now my husband is mad at me. It was also advertised as being for “all content areas” and now that I have the schedule it’s clear that by “all” they meant English, math, science, and history. I don’t think it’ll even apply to me.

I'm approaching the brink of exhaustion due to nausea at night. I've been teary and anxious all morning and I hate how I turn into a different person when I'm sleep deprived.
But on the positive side, my mom is babysitting this morning while MH and I run some errands. We went to a lighting store and bought the perfect bathroom light, and it was on sale for $250 instead of it's regular price of $900 😳. So I feel like a got a good deal and I'm glad I didn't end up ordering from Wayfair. Now we have everything for the reno and demolition/asbestos removal starts in just a few weeks 😅

We went to a movie last night! We are at full capacity here, but there were maybe 12 people in the theater? I’m exhausted, we watched Black Widow (okay) and the season finale of Loki (very happy with how this one went). I need a nap. Theatres just opened here, I can't wait to go to a movie again!

mintyblueair did you say the nausea is due to NSAIDs? Is it expected to get better soon? I feel for you!

mintyblueair did you say the nausea is due to NSAIDs? Is it expected to get better soon? I feel for you! Well I was told it was gastritis based on symptoms, and when he asked me questions decided it was NSAID use that caused it. He said NSAIDs are the most common cause of gastritis, especially in women. And I had been getting lots of headaches for a few months and treating them with Advil, as well as a weird earache that lasted for a week which I treated with Advil or Aleve around the clock. So it made sense. I haven't taken any Advil in about 3 weeks and I stopped all alcohol and caffeine almost two weeks ago. The doctor I saw said it should resolve in a week or two and I'm taking a daily acid reducer to help. But if it's not better in another week or so I'll go see my GP to see if there's anything else I can do.

I've been dealing with gastritis/acid reflux/silent reflux for a couple years now and it's been buckets of fun. It started as nausea for me (and that is now the easiest symptom to manage). Hopefully yours is just caused by NSAIDs and will resolve on its own. If not, I'm happy to give any advice or to point you toward some FB groups that have been helpful for me.

That was my first thought when I first started feeling nauseous! The only other time I've felt this way is during pregnancy. But I have an IUD and a perfectly regular period so I really don't think so. At urgent care a couple of weeks ago that was their first question. I assumed they checked when they did blood work but then I forgot to ask. But CD1 was 6 days ago and totally normal.

Ugh, I'm sorry to hear you've been dealing with it for so long. When I read it could become chronic I got worried. Did you have gastritis prior to developing acid reflux? I've never had any reflux (other than at the end of two of my pregnancies) so I really hope that doesn't get added onto all this. I'll definitely come to you for advice if it doesn't clear up soon for me.

DS1 just referred to Kamala as the “step-president” and it gave me a giggle. (He just forgot the right term)

I got diagnosed with a random smattering of things (gastritis, acid reflux and silent reflux), but have finally settled on silent reflux. I didn't get noticeable acid reflux until I got put on PPIs, which made everything really bad for a while. When it wasn't working (and made everything worse) my doctor wanted me to double my PPI dosage. I just stopped instead (slowly, because rebound reflux is real). Acid reflux has mostly has gone away, but I still get the pepsin reflux and nausea. UK Gaviscon has been a game changer for me controlling it (plus recognizing my triggers). Both my dad and my BIL control their reflux really well with PPIs, so it's different for everyone.

Boo. My kids have colds. I feel pretty strongly that it's a cold and not covid (there is a non-covid cold going around day care), but it means testing them and keeping everyone home. Technically, since DH and I are vaccinated we could still go out. But it's easier (and safer) to do the lockdown dance and keep everyone home. I'm so mad at everyone in this country that could be vaccinated and isn't. We could be done with this pandemic by now.

My neighbors are moving out of state (boo), and they passed on their patio furniture to us. I recovered all of the cushions, and I love how it turned out.

A mom posted in our town Facebook group that they’re moving here next month from NJ and we just figured out we lived in the same neighborhood there and they bought a house in our new neighborhood. What a small world!

Spent the morning at the ER with DS2. I was home alone with him this morning and his temperature reached 105.5, even after having been given Motrin earlier. He was shaking so hard and it scared the crap out of me. I know some moms are chill about fevers but both of my kids rarely even reach 102.
He seems to be ok though. No COVID, RSV or flu 🙌🏻.

I don’t know where I learned about applying sunscreen to my kids faces with a foundation brush but it’s been pretty life changing.

Thanks tj! They don’t know, but said it’s probably just a random virus. We’re supposed to medicate every 2 hours and go to the pediatrician Monday if he’s still fighting fevers.

so scary charlotte! I'm glad it's not one of those viruses. Maybe roseola? That's what they thought F had the one time he had a temp that high, but he never developed a rash so we still don't know what it was.

There is a NYT article about how one of my clients is the most influential spreader of coronavirus misinformation. I’ve always hated the company for their shyster behavior, but took the work because I felt like it wouldn’t matter to their success if I did or didn’t. But this is the final straw. And maybe I won’t be the only copacker or collaborator who stop doing business with them.
