I actually love our Elf on the Shelf. It mostly just moves around but occasionally brings a surprise (we got the new pet fox this year). Today he was in a bowl of Elf on the Shelf cereal. DD used to write him letters everyday when she was younger and the little boys are so excited to hunt for him each day.
Today T’s 2 best friends finally came over. It was another nice day so they were outside all day. I had margaritas with the moms.

Cadence is getting an elf this year. I told her I sent a letter to Santa saying I needed help keeping her in line. I didn't tell her about the elf yet. I put the book in with the Mrs. Claus gift that will arrive at our door Monday night. The elf will make her appearance the following morning.

We have an elf, but it doesn’t arrive until the Christmas tree arrives, which is usually mid December. I like plotting schemes with Dh on what the elf is going to do. It’s not so much about him keeping an eye on the kids, since the kids don’t get presents from Santa, but from Sinterklaas, who is long gone by that time. For us it’s more a fun holiday tradition, the kids love it!

We got an elf a couple of years ago. He sat out (on a shelf) one year, went away last year and this year is on the tree in the playroom. He doesn’t move and he doesn’t watch the kids.

The Elf keeps C in line. He doesn’t play games. Just moves each night. He watches C and reports back nightly. I told him that the elf was coming any day now and he yelled “NOOO!!” Oh yes kid, oh yes! 🤫 This is cracking me up!! |

Nothing happening here today. Im waiting on H to wake up, its almost 9, then I will make breakfast. I will run a few loads of laundry to my moms. Then just do some cleaning and watch football.

Morning.
At work again. It’s a wet and rainy day. Not much on the agenda today.
Tickle, our elf, always comes on Dec 1st with some Christmas decorations and treats. This year I got some Christmas cups, bowls, and placemats for them. I need to find a Christmas treats The kids look forward to it and he mostly just moves around. He may get into something like once a week if I feel up to it, but M enjoys looking for him every day. It really isn’t a chore for us since we just move him around the house.
Last night M wanted to come up with some activities we could do for the holiday. I’m having trouble coming up with some fun stuff so I may make a thread so we can share ideas. Most of my Christmas shopping is done and I want to enjoy the holiday and make it fun for the boys since we can’t really do any experiences because pandemic.

I'm definitely not ambitious enough to try to take over the world, but feeling the repetitious part.
I think I'll see if I can convince the kids to go on an easy hike. I need a change of scenery.

We are zooming with my family later. My dad's surgery is tomorrow. My mom can be in the waiting room and is going to wait to talk to the surgeon after the 10 hour long surgery but then she can't see him again until he goes home. I'm going to sneak over to see him while I'm at work this week though.

Holiday movies (both on Hulu):
12 Pups of Christmas--it was alright. Enjoyed watching it and the girls loved it. Probably wouldn't watch again though.
Happiest Season--has my beloved Dan Levy, but not enough of him. Drags on too long and one of the main love interests is a jerk and I couldn't root for the main couple to be together. I really wanted them to break up. Dan and Audrey Plaza couldn't save this one.

Lazy weekend here. We got our tree yesterday, first time cutting one down. L made the process miserable, but the tree looks great!
Today is dhs birthday. I’m still in pajamas and he’s going hunting in a bit so it’ll continue to be a lazy day while he’s gone. He’s requested pizza for dinner so I don’t even have to cook. Winning.
