I’m happy to see the familiar faces but everyone just seems so weird!! Idk if it’s because it’s been so long since I’ve seen them (I’ve never done a full rewatch), or it’s because the actors have forgotten how to play their character, or it’s the writing, or if they’re all supposed to be a bit “off” because they’re dead but blah. They’ve all been so cringey to me.

So this set up and all the fan favorite characters coming back is them setting up the final season right?? It has to be.

The Lexi and Mark stuff felt weird until the last part where she was talking to the two of them together and they were saying the stuff about grief being part of love. That felt more natural. I did like Mark being all annoyed that people can’t give him credit for his ghost advice lol.

Also I find it interesting that even in this scenario, it is still being shown as slightly Merediths choice fo stay or go, like it was when she decided to drown herself. When we know that with COVID it’s not really a persons choice given how unpredictable the disease is.

I read an article that Lexi is filming somewhere so they Had to put her in the scenes using technology and a green screen. I think maybe that explains the forced part of their scenes a little bit.

I know it's a way to move the plot forward and show all of the past characters, but it feels very... boot-strappy?

I mean, I know in most cases, someone with a serious medical condition isn't actually "choosing" whether to come out of it. But in particular, with the pandemic still going and people losing family and friends, it strikes me as slightly insensitive to make it appear as though Meredith is choosing whether she wants to live or not.

I cried during the proposal. I’m such a sap. I'm not watching, who got engaged?

Oh yeah I forgot about the proposal, I totally teared up too. It is amazing how much Maggie's character has chilled out and became a much more likeable person once she found someone she was compatible with. Winston is absolutely gorgeous and also perfect for her.

When she first appeared I thought it was CGI! Then I figured green screen when there was such a difference between what it looked like behind her vs behind Mark. Then they were only together when they were far from Mer and she was never in the same shot as them face to face.

It is something I have had talks with my therapist about many times. I actually said it to my cousin the other day (before I watched this episode) after learning that his dog passed. It's a comforting way to help accept and allow the grief to come as it does.

Finally caught up this season. It is a meh for me. Why have we not seen Ellis on the beach? Honestly, we got George but not her mother? What?
I woukd have liked Derek, Lexie, Ellis and Andrew. That's it.

I’m glad Mer is awake finally. This episode was okay overall.
The anxiety turned relief of Linc and Amelia seeing his parents pulling up in the RV was painfully relatable.

I liked the end with Avery wanting to use his money and influence to help and asking where he can help the most. I also liked Hayes and Maggie working together and her getting back in the OR. Everything else was boringggggggg

My goodness I was a mess at the end when the dad was tearfully talking to his baby. It probably doesn’t help that I have two littles that are about the same age. Ugh. I’m glad they didn’t have the baby die.
I’m laughing that Merediths first thing she says is to get Weber to talk to Jo. There was no Jo and Jackson in this episode though which was disappointing.
Linc really is such a good guy. I’m glad Amelia has found someone who is willing to help her through her hard times.

So irritated with next week's previews. ENOUGH WITH THE DAMN BEACH! I thought we were past that storyline.
I know Sarah Drew is returning, at least for an episode, so that must be where Jackson is headed. I will be so glad to see April again.

I'm quite ready for the beach storyline to be done, too. Really glad that's not where we see April.

I was assuming he was going to Minnesota where all the protests were happening.

I was also thinking he might be going to see his dad since he brought him up to his mom. But as an east coaster I have no concept of how far 11 hours of driving from Seattle will get you. I thought April moved away from Seattle but I might be remembering wrong. Harriet is with her.

You know. 11 hours isn’t going to get him to Minnesota. 😂 I guess my theory is wrong! Maybe it is April!

I didn't even think about April when I was trying to figure out where Jackson was going.
I thought this was a good episode. I was so nervous for Winston and I'm glad he was okay. I like his character and want him to stick around.
I'm confused about the timeline though. This season started depicting March or April 2020 and now it looks like it's June 2020. I wonder if they will catch up to the present?

So with what seems to be more character sharing, the lady that had surgery (came in from the protest with Richard) is Phylicia Rashad who plays Beth's mom on This Is Us. And she happens to be Debbie Allen's sister (Jackson's mom/Catherine Fox).
