Yes, I’m really liking it. I like how I keep going back and forth on what I think. I didn’t read the book and I assume I will be surprised by the ending.

We spent a little time yelling at the TV. (“Why won’t she get a lawyer?!” “Like she would actually meet with the husband?!” “He’s really going to the husband’s house?!” But we’ve been entertained. I like the hot cop. Donald Sutherland is still such a great actor.

Yes loving it. I did read the book and I really enjoyed it but the show has strayed quite far from the book so I can’t tell how it will end.
One thing the book did really well imo, which the show opted not to portray, is how the extreme wealth in Manhattan was alienating for Grace and distanced her from the school community (the tv show BFF/lawyer was more of an acquaintance in the book). Her father in the book was not as wealthy as on the show either. It added a richer dimension to the background story and I enjoyed reading about the different class dynamics at the school and in the community.

She does seem to not quite fit in but don't really explain it. That would make more sense.

I was just planning to start this after getting an email ad for it, cast & plot description sounded promising.

We binged the first four episodes because of this thread. It is very, very good! I'm really wishing I would have read the book before because I bet it was a good read! Anyway, so many questions, lol. I have thoughts about the blond friend.

I've watched all four episodes. The early ones were very compelling, but the most recent felt a little slow. I really can't tell where the story will end, though, which I like.

YIKES to the very end of last nights episode 😳 I was side eyeing him bc a very, very similar thing happened in a book I just read but the way the writers gave us that twist was nicely done

Binged today! That was definitely on my radar. Not sure how they are going to pull off tho. I can think of a few plot holes.

I binged all 5 episodes last night. Also gasped at the ending of the last episode though I suspected it was coming because of the way the scene had been set up. Are we open to (spoilered) predictions in this thread? I did not know there was a book and now I wish I had read that first.

Spoiler
My heart of hearts has always been suspicious of the friend. I'm making that my final answer. It has to be premeditated though, because whomever it was wasn't caught on the street camera like Grace was. So that's why I don't think it was the boy.

iruntodrinkMy related speculation under the spoiler
I feel like it ties back to Hugh’s character (lol already forgot his name) saying there had been one other “pity fuck” or something like that. One other time he cheated, but “it didn’t mean anything”. Maybe it didn’t mean anything to him, but she was secretly in love with him.
It doesn’t make sense to me that they’d be devoting so much screen time to her otherwise. She doesn’t add a lot.
The hammer thing is some kind of red herring. Like the boy somehow found it and thought he could protect his dad by hiding it? I dunno.

The whole scene with the mom back in England was super creepy, though.

My guesses below the spoiler {Spoiler}I've got a couple of running suspicions.
One is that the lady who was killed is not actually the real woman. They keep talking about her face being bludgeoned beyond recognition. If she was crazy enough she could set it up. Of course this mean the cops didn't do any tests to make sure it was her, but I think it's likely.
I'm also a bit suspicious of the son of the murdered lady (I wish I could remember her name). He could have planted the mallet in the case. It's a stretch but has crossed my mind.

I've been waiting for Lily Rabe to have a bigger role but also
Kidman's dad really hates her husband. Maybe he had a hand in it?

I like all of these theories, I do agree that it’s not anyone we’ve been lead to suspect so far. I feel like anything is possible at this point and I’m looking forward to the finale tonight.

I have a few theories. {Spoiler}It has to be someone with motive who is really angry. 1) Henry did do it because he found out about the affair. 2) Grace has a mental health issue, possibly DID and had a relationship either romantic or a weird friendship with Elena and killed her and Henry found the hammer and is covering for her. It's possible her patients are figments of her imagination. 3) Sylvia is that affair Jonathan mentioned. She killed Elena in a rage, hid the hammer in an attempt to frame Jonathan at his house which Henry found and hid thinking one of his parents did it.

I'm wondering where the heck all the money went. Jonathan both drained the bank account and spent $500k, I think he paid someone off.
