It's going to be in the 90s and humid today. Supposedly the heat index could go up to 105. No thank you.

Mall walking depresses me but I don't want to go two days without getting a good walk in. Plus I'll have to resist Auntie Anne's pretzels. I can't wait for this heat wave to be over!

I honestly couldn't figure out what day it was this morning when I woke up, it has just been one of those weeks. Mh worked 7 of the last 8 nights, which means I was solo parenting, we are both exhausted. Today really sucks for him though because my mom has 2 doctors appts so I'm taking her and he is coming home to watch the kids on no sleep.

I'm looking forward to getting my prime day stuff too. I got a DustBuster. Much excite.
It's rainy here so I'm feeling blah. The traffic getting into work was bad and DD spilled smoothie all down her arm while on our way out to the car. It's been one of those mornings.
Also at drop off today one of Bs teachers said she gives him a week and he'll be crawling. Gah. Not ready. Why are my kids always hot to trot on on their motor skills? I don't have time to do more baby proofing right now!

Dinner was so nice last night. After we got home Mil complained about the cats and the smelly litter boxes. Sigh. She is not a cat person. There is more to it but H & I feel upset.
Anyway working from home today. Hoping to get in some cleaning today too.

Just me and the olds at the mall. 😂 They need to stop walking three across. It's slowing me down.

I'm working from home today and had considered a mid-day rin (RUN). But my boss' boss decided to dump a big project in my lap. Lame.

The options are so limited, crowded or expensive (museums, etc) when it's hot out. I have to force myself to go out on those days but I need to get out at least once or my mental health suffers.

I did 1.5 miles with both kids in the stroller and another slow mile with ds walking. I resisted pretzels even though they smelled delicious. 💪🏼 peaseblossom55 did you end up at Olive Garden? ellabee I just put up a couple toys with smaller pieces since dd is getting into everything ds leaves out.

Lakes, we went to the mall yesterday with my mom to get shin guards for the toddler. I know I live in a smallish town but there was literally no one there. I let the toddler loose and it was amazing, maybe in worse weather there more people. ellabee, I was just asking myself that about my kiddos this morning, R can stand up on things for a while without me holding on to her and I'm not ready. My toddler is weird and doesn't need much baby proofing so I will have to get on that for the baby. meeggaannw, I'm sorry you've been doing so much solo parenting. I know how draining that can be, I hope you can get some down time soon and sounds like your husband could use a day off. peaseblossom55, I'm glad you enjoyed your dinner but I couldn't imagine complaining about someones elses litter boxes. I'm not a cat person but I would never agree to hang out in someones house that has them and then say it smells. My husband works very far from home (60 miles) so he doesn't go into the office everyday but this week they are doing training so he has been working long days and today he has to go to dinner so my parents are helping me take big R to soccer. I'm so happy we moved down to be closer to them or I wouldn't be surviving with two little kids, sometimes it would be literally impossible to do thing with both of them. I"m sorry to everyone going through a heatwave, I don't know how you deal. Its been in the upper 70s here and so perfect. We played outside so much yesterday and today we are going to play at the park by our house. I'm assuming/hoping air-conditioning is standard in these areas.

I'm so thankful for having family close by too neekoneeko. We drop in on my MIL and she makes us dinner all the time. I also head to my parents' house whenever I have both kids and no real destination. Its invaluable to us.

Omg guys. I am side-eyeing the heck out of sil's hospital/doc/ped. It sounds like she got zero advice about feedings/no LC meetings/no info about jaundice babies/etc before being discharged. The docs also moved the two day appointment to six days because of the jaundice? Not sure if that's normal but she said they wanted to give the jaundice time to clear up with the bili blanket at home. Anyway. He's a week old tomorrow, still pretty jaundice, and not putting on weight...because she wasn't feeding him often enough. I'm sure the jaundice is making him sleepy so they thought these long stretches were normal. This is a well known, pretty fancy hospital. I'm pissed on her behalf.
She had been texting me for breastfeeding advice but I never thought to ask how often he was eating. It sounded mostly like latch issues from what she was telling me.

Lakes, I'm mad for her, too!! What the heck??? 😡😡😡 I'm with meeggaannw. It's always in the upper 90s here and triple digits at times. Everywhere is crowded indoors and you basically have to wait until dark to get any decent excercise outside. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

M is 6 months today and has started sitting unassisted for longer periods this week!
It's been a hot week at the beach but at least there's a constant breeze. Tomorrow is our last day before heading home Saturday. DS is going to have quite the reality check come Monday! He hasn't had a normal/routine week in almost a month and is going to be so sad to not see his cousins every day.

I just have to vent real quick and then I will rtmft. Mh had the kids all morning, I laid r down for a nap and then took my mom to her doctors appointment. I spelled out what he should do while I was gone, when to feed and how much and how long R should be up before the next nap. I stressed at least 3 hours. I just walked in the door at what should be the 3 hour mark and R is awake in his bed, waking up from a 40 minute nap. I want to scream. He put him down at two hours, too early, so he didn't take a good nap and now he is going to be a fussy mess and it completely throws off the rest of the day. I'm so frustrated, seriously I can't even leave for 3 hours without him throwing the routine right out the window? I get pushing him longer but putting him down early just pisses me off

Oh no Lakes! That's terrible. Is she back on a good feeding schedule with him? Is the bili blanket doing anything? SO frustrating.

ellabee she texted me as they were in their way to get his blood drawn. His levels were slightly elevated when they left the hospital on Sunday but he didn't get a blanket until Monday after a home nurse visit. Hopefully they've gone down a bit but the ped said he was still "very yellow". She knows she has to feed to wake now, basically every two hours, and try to get him to eat 1.5-2oz. She's pumping because he's had trouble latching at home so she knows she's producing enough milk. Hopefully he does well the next couple days.
