Because of you I had chips and queso for dinner.
All of this stress and anxiety is not good for my waistline.

No drinking but definitely something comforting for dinner. My dog took a spill last weekend and x rays today confirmed it’s a torn ACL. The vet was shocked at how bad her hips are (she has had horrible hip dysplasia since birth) so they have to refer to an orthopedic surgeon to even see if she’s a surgical candidate, especially given her old age. The bill would be insane though and we already shelled out $1500 for her in October for a different surgery. This dog. Tagging sudsy since I asked her about this last weekend.

No alcohol for me since I had plenty yesterday and I work tomorrow. But I had cheese, popcorn, and fun size candy for my dinner so I'm covered. I really fucking hope I'm going to be drinking champagne tomorrow.

I’m sorry willow. I had a feeling that was going to be the case. That’s why I asked if it was a back leg 😞

I’m sorry willow. I had a feeling that was going to be the case. That’s why I asked if it was a back leg 😞 Yeah I was really afraid of it too. I feel so badly that they were so surprised at her hips (she had a TPO surgery on just one hip as a 7 month old puppy so she’s been able to live a mostly full life) because it made me feel like she’s probably been in more constant pain than she ever shows (which is nothing). It’s also just... a lot of money too. Guess I’m glad I already bought almost all of my Christmas presents... this dog is like my soulmate dog so I am not handling this well.

If she’s super old and you don’t want to go through surgery, that’s understandable. It can typically be managed with pain medication. She’ll just develop more arthritis in that knee.

My giant mess of a sister told me last night that her husband left her.
She moved in with him after like a month of dating and then married him a couple months later. I deserve a medal for not telling her I TOLD YOU SO. Although I did have to explain TO A 43 YEAR OLD WOMAN that you can’t possibly fully know a person that quickly. Because she kept on about, this just isn’t the man I knew. Bitch you never knew him!
I love her but good goddamn she is dumb.
My point of this post is that I need prayers to keep me from letting it slip to my parents who are visiting tomorrow. I am good at keeping secrets but I might dip into the wine and there are no rules with the wine.

Willow, my 10 year old Mutt Mutt has two rear ACL tears. She's not a candidate for surgery based on other factors, and we have done well with changing her food, pain meds and CBD supplements. She still has bursts of energy, but hiking days are over.

My four year old is cleaning the living room. He informed me that everything he picks up gets him “points”. I didn’t ask what the points were for because I’m not sure what’s happening, but I would like it to continue.
Drinks and making dinner with DH after their bedtime.

I'm currently in a school site meeting that I am dumb for joining. I mean yes, I'm happy to be involved in this new school that both kids will be in until 5th grade (TK/1st currently), but gahtdamn. I know what instructors I will try to avoid if at all possible. *Most won't even be there by the time my kids get older, likely, because it's transferring from a dual enrollment to strictly bilingual program starting this year.

It only took til my kid was 2.5 to figure out there were tiny soft scrunchies vs those painful rubber bands.

I’ve shared that we do a once a week play date with another family that we trust. DD was upset today at pickup bc they didn’t play what she wanted (it’s fine, kid politics, yadda). Specifically dolls, which her friend is kind of transitioning out of.
I was explaining that people move through interests, and that’s normal.
And the 8 yo piped up, in his serious voice: “I myself have gone through lots of phases. Trains. Minecraft. We’re entering a battleship phase now. That’s life.
:::long pause:::
Well, trains are more of a passion. But you get it.”
I love the shit out of that kid.

I’ve got hot tea. No drinking here as cd5 is really kicking my butt. DH set me up with a blanket and I’ve got my knitting. Looking forward to a quiet night with him before he goes back on shift tomorrow.

It looks like I’ll be out of a job at the end of February so that’s great. I get to have my maternity leave though at least.
And my kid’s preschool is closed tomorrow for cleaning after a parent tested positive for COVID.

I had a gin and tonic with dinner, which was takeout from the pizzeria. Thank God I didn't have to cook. I'm sick of it lately. I took my kids to the shore to see Lucy the Elephant. I've never been either. It was pretty neat. We had lunch at a playground and then went on the beach for a bit. It was absolutely gorgeous out today and I'm glad we went out and did something.
