I just ordered some distressed jeans for B. I thought it was so cute, she asked me if I would get her jeans w holes in them. She’s never specifically asked for clothing before so I’m all excited she’s developing a sense of style.

Had my second pt visit this morning. I went in jeans and a loose tshirt, thinking this is for my arm, so they'll have me do arm exercises. They first thing they did was put me on a bike for a warm up. Not cool.
Other than that it was just arm exercises, stretches, and the pt drilling her hands and at one point her elbow into my muscles to try and figure out where, how, and why the pain is.

I'm now at the office and got a message from mh saying that Cadence has stated she hates him, he's the worst dad ever and she wants to move away from him. This is because she got the tablet taken away by ME last night and I told her she couldn't have it until she was done with her school work and the playroom was cleaned up. So shes pissed and taking it out on him. I told him to just remain calm with her and explain that it hurts his feelings when she talks like that, but he has to follow what Mom said in regards to the tablet punishment. She told him she knows it hurts his feelings, that's why she said it and that she just needs to GO somewhere. I told him to let her take the cat into the backyard. I haven't heard from him since then, so she may have locked him outside or something. Who knows.

I do have one. I'm no expert lfig but I know a little. I recommend finding what you want to do on pinterest and then youtube how to do it on your machine. What machine did you get? I have the maker. Also, cricut vinyl SUCKS. luke use what they sent you, then buy siser brand.

S has pictures tomorrow so I got her a dress, plus they have some toddler leopard print sneakers on a really good sale so I got her those too.

They have good resale if you don't like it. I will be honest, its alot harder than I thought it would be. But just play and don't be afraid to waste vinyl lol

nam2013 , shes just really struggling. She was telling me that she hates being at home. She's bored and has no one to do things with. Mh is there, but he is working and apparently doesn't take breaks. I'm bringing her to the office on Wednesday since she only has morning meeting for school, then its all on their own learning. She can just do her school work and worksheets here. She's been having a lot of separation anxiety when I'm not around. So I get home and she's practically glued to me.

ETA: I'm wondering if I should look for a therapist she can talk to to help her work out her feelings.

Morning all. I barely had any time alone this weekend in the reno zone and doing little errands, shopping, and making reno decisions.

We emerged from the basement on Sat morning as we were allowed to walk on the hardwood floors, they are divine and came out better than I had expected, I'm in love. The contractor is here this week to do all baseboards, casings, install the new mantle and complete the ensuite tile flooring.

We got so much done this weekend; I got the new prints for the kids' rooms downloaded from Etsy and sent off to Costco for printing, bought fabric for my attempt at reupholstering my storage ottoman, MH sanded and stained a little table that I use in the living room, found a side table and lamp for the spare room, decided/ordered drapes for my room and ordered B's bedding/sheets etc. We are a little hung up on what to do for bathroom fixtures, but we have to decide, buy and install by next Monday.

lahdeedah vino My back is still sore...i went to the grocery store, etc. this morning b/c that stuff has to get done but I want to try and rest it this afternoon. It's the weirdest thing, I just have no idea what I did! 

Vino, thanks for asking about the lab, she is her normal self ATM. It has been an emotional few weeks around here. We got all the final reports from the oncologist, etc. On the upside, we caught it super early so the vet feels like we have some time before she will start experiencing pain/trouble eating/etc. Downside, it's a super aggressive cancer and really the only course of action for 'treatment' is removing part of her jaw, and chemo. And even with that, it *will* come back within a year. All in, we'd be at about $10K (which includes $2K we've already spent on the testing, etc.) Which is...a lot for an almost 10 year old dog that has a life expectancy of 10-12 years. If she was younger and we knew it would buy her several years or more, we would do it, but I think as things stand, we're going to spoil her rotten and give her the best quality of life we can for as long as she has left, and start palliative care when she needs it.

Blerg. It all sucks. Sorry for the novel.

klong11 I’m so sorry she’s struggling. If your h really is not taking any breaks during the day, it is a lot especially for a 6yo. Maybe he could try and take a small coffee break when she has breaks too? These days are so hard on both parents and kids, it’s one adjustment after another. Any chance she can dl with a friend one or two mornings a week while you work?

I can never hurt to try and see if she want to talk to someone. Maybe they can give you/your h some tips that might help. I try and talk to the kids a few nights a week after I’ve tucked them in. I’ll ask them about the worst and the best part of the day, why those were the best/worst, it often sparks a conversation.

And then there are evenings like last night when Dd was a complete mess over a kids coffee place we used to go through every week that is currently closed... I got annoyed at first, thinking ‘big deal’. I really had to take a breather and put myself in her position, for her not being able to go there for 8 months now is a big deal. Hugs.

flamingo I'm sorry to hear that she has an aggressive type of cancer but that is great that she is acting herself and I have no doubt that she'll be spoiled rotten and given the best love. It is very emotional having a pet with health issues, I cried non stop for weeks with Pete, it is absolutely devastating.

I'm dumb. I can set up a meeting with the school counselor so that she can talk to Cadence and see if she has any ideas on what can help. She's actually the mom of one of her friends, so Cadence is comfortable with her.

Sounds like they haven't found anything major yet with my dad other than some vitamin deficiency. They're doing the spinal tap today (I thought it'd happened yesterday) to rule out infection. His MRI and CT showed some funny stuff that they aren't sure about, may be from previous trauma. They also think he may have had a minor stroke at some point. He will need to cut back on drinking quite a bit for sure.

My mom has been able to! She said he's mostly just sleeping but doing ok!

flamingo what a tough choice to have to make. I did the same with Luna 2 years ago and it sucked. You want them to feel good and be around as long as possible, and never suffer. Id have made the same choice you did, spoil her rotten!
