This is a combined TTC thread for EVERYONE currently TTC. Whether you're a first timer, a many timer, or an old timer come on in and pass the time as we struggle through WTO and the dreaded TWW.
As this is a combined thread there will be talk of LC, losses, and IF struggles. If any of these are hard for you please just let us know in your first post and I'm sure the lovely ladies on here will be happy to add TWs to accommodate.

Decided to start the October thread for anyone that's still around. I'm no longer bleeding, but just waiting around until my cycle comes back. We are currently NTNP.

Hi! Hope you all don't mind me joining in.
Month/Cycle: Month 9
Timing: no clue
CD/DPO: 30
Symptoms: none
RRCS: I was recently diagnosed with PCOS and while I am not surprised by the diagnosis I am sad. We aren't really sure if I am ovulating so trying to figure out what we want to do from here.
GTKY: Favorite cold weather meal? Green been stew. My Mom makes the best and I have been craving it like crazy. Just waiting for it to cool down some more before I try making it this year. (Mine is never as good unfortunately)

ambiguousmango welcome! Hope you get answers on your ovulation. Sorry you are dealing with uncertainty. Thank you. I had suspected I was not ovulating but it's still a bit of a shock. Luckily I really like my OB. So hopefully things will become more clear in the following months.

I’m sorry ambiguousmango. PCOS is a pain when TTC but can be treated successfully. I would suggest starting to look into switching to an RE. They are much more experienced and can safely help you with treatment. Hopefully you have access to one local to you.

@robotwrestlers we have thought about searching for one but we are so early in the process I thought it might be a bit premature. But maybe that is unsound reasoning and I should look further into it. I just kind of assumed that since we just got the diagnosis they would want to see that we have attempted the plans set forth by our OB before accepting us.

ambiguousmango Feel free to go at the pace you are comfortable with. But I would think with a diagnosis from your OB, they would accept you as a patient. It’s a lot to take in, so process it and go from there. I’ve been in your shoes and it’s a lot. Do you have other kids or will this be your first?

robotsvswrestlers We have one son who will be four in January. We got pregnant right away with him and I had a pretty uneventful pregnancy. My OB is hopeful that if I can lose 10% of my body weight that I will start ovulating again. She has also said she can start me on Femara in hopes of forcing me to ovulate and get pregnant that way.

ambiguousmango That sounds like a reasonable plan. Are you on Metformin? That is an option. Taking ovulation induction medicine without monitoring can be tricky. You don’t know if it’s working or not and can end up with cysts or ovulating multiple follicles. Just my two cents. Good luck on your journey and I hope you start ovulating again!!

ambiguousmango Just echoing robotsvswrestlers...take this with a grain of salt bc I personally have no experience with those meds...but my sister went through the process and her dr didn't do any monitoring while she was on the medication- she ended up having an ovary removed due to being twisted under the weight of all the follicles. I would advocate for monitoring if I were you.

robotsvswrestlers I am not. I had a ton of blood work done and they said my insulin levels were normal and I was not prediabetic if that makes a difference? They also said if I did go on Femera I would have to have blood work at the twenty something day and a bunch of other stuff. Unfortunately I kinda blocked it out because she mentioned the increased risk of multiples and I decided I would rather persue other avenues beforehand. Also sorry I feel like I am monopolizing the thread but I am so grateful for everyone's help and support. I feel like such a newbie and don't even know what questions really to ask. So seriously thank you guys.

catlady22 oh my gosh that is so scary. If we decide to eventually go that route I will make sure to be monitored. Is she doing okay now?

catlady22 I’m so sorry! That is definitely worst case scenario but can happen. ambiguousmango Don’t worry, it’s nice to have something to talk about! My doctor put me on Metformin this last round of trying just to see if it would help. I’m not overweight, no glucose issues, etc. It can potentially help you produce follicles/respond better to meds and reduce inflammation in the body. The bloodwork at day 20 something would only be to confirm ovulation I’m guessing. It wouldn’t tell you anything about number of follicles.

Month/cycle: started TTC again this month. We have an 8 yr old(in 2 days) and an 18 month old.
Timing: no idea when I O’d, but based on when my temp spiked it was probably CD 18. So if that’s the case we are at -6, O, and +2.
CD: 20
Symptoms: fatigue and headache
GTKY: Fave cold weather meal has to be Shepard’s pie!

Month/Cycle: 17
Timing: -3 and iui #1 this morning
CD/DPO: 13/I triggered Sat. night, so that means I ovulate today I think?
Symptoms: I have been having lots of hot flashes, I think from the clomid.
RRCS: I'm really hoping this works! DH post wash count was only 4.9 mil which makes me a bit nervous.
GTKY: Favorite cold weather meal? Soup! My favorite is Chicken Tortilla.

ambiguousmango First off, warm, squishy hugs because getting a diagnosis sucks. Anecdotes/advice in spoiler Yonder when I was diagnosed with PCOS (also non-IR, also caused anovulation in me), we just went straight to a RE. They're specifically infertility doctors and PCOS is absolutely an IF dx. You should easily be able to set up with one when you are ready.
I would also highly recommend being under the care of a RE if/when you decide to take Femara/letrozole (generic) because when I started taking drugs to induce ovulation, I went from not making any mature follicles to growing 2 or 3 every time I did a medicated cycle (first 4 cycles were Clomid, my last one with RE was Femara/letrozole). Bloodwork won't tell you how many follicles you mature, only a binary yes/no on whether you ovulated or not. The *only* way to know how many mature follicles you could ovulate is by ultrasound (which many OBs won't do, while REs almost guaranteed will). If you're scared about the possibility of multiples, make sure you are getting proper monitoring done so you know what you're walking in to, especially since you don't have any idea how ovulation inducing medication would affect you (I was getting my results on the low end of dosage). All the best luck to you and I hope you're able to get some good results if/when you pursue a next step. The 3T/IF board is a wealth of knowledge to draw from, if you ever need another source of support or info. <3

My period started yesterday. I am trying to take it as a good sign that maybe I ovulated but I'm still crabby. I think I need to delete facebook off my phone. It feels like everyone has announced they are pregnant, and while I am happy for them, it has been rough for my mental health.

So my MIL & SIL messaged me and MH in a group chat “some of SIL baby registry items are on prime deals if y’all want to shop! Including a steam mop she needs for the nursery!”
Am I right to have this kind of piss me off? Because wtaf. H thinks nothing of it. But for one I already told MIL what SEVERAL things I got her and two how rude to begin with? Like it’s already hard enough she’s having her shower now and MH is helping plan it when we had almost the same due date. It’s just a kick in the face reminder and now it’s like super gift grabby.
I could just be in a piss poor mood but who knows.
Oh also my best friend is pregnant. By accident. With a guy she just met. I’m thrilled for her but also super jealous about it.

onyx solidarity. I have pretty much the exact same situation. SIL has a due date 1 week behind my loss. I decided not to go to the shower and only send a gift. DH thinks I'm crazy for that. You are totally justified in your feelings.

You are totally justified in your feelings. Ya MH got really salty when I said I was going to just drive by. He basically said he understands why I don’t wanna go but hopes that I do and that I should be celebrating with her and I’m like I AM AS BEST I CAN

onyx I'd definitely be upset about that. Very gift grabby and thoughtless. I was due 1 month after my sil and it's hard to be around her and the baby.
