I finished it last night. It wasn't as scary as Hill House, but I really enjoyed it and that ending was so sad and powerful. Amelia Eve was terrific and I loved the Jamie/Dani storyline. I also thought T'Nia Miller and Rahul Kohli were SO CUTE. (PS if you loved Rahul in this, you NEED to check out iZombie.) I agree with everything you've said.

I finished it. It wasn't scary at all which was disappointing but overall I enjoyed it.

It wasn’t scary. It was slightly (i mean very slightly) suspenseful.
Good story, but full of plot holes like Swiss cheese

I never actually watched Hill House but watched Bly Manor. I really loved it. I don't think it was horror, but the story was so great for me. I especially loved the episode with the "She sleeps. She forgets. She wakes. She walks." We're watching Hill House now so I expect to be blown away since everyone likes that one better.

Hill House is closer to a traditional haunted house story, with more and scarier ghosts/spirits/hauntings. Bly Manor is a ghost story in the tradition of white woman ghost stories the world over, which is probably why I love it also, the tragic romance of it all.

It was ok. I mean, I still get scared about the bent neck woman a year later but the faceless ghosts just aren't quite the same. I did like the second to last episode a lot. Hannah left me with more questions than answers.

I looooved it. But I love rich, tragic love stories. Also, how have we not mentioned that Uncle Henry is Elliot from ET!!?
Also, the actress playing Viola looks so much like Angelina Jolie to me!

I'm always surprised when people are surprised to see him - he been in a lot of stuff as an adult, Saving Private Ryan for one. He also was the dad character in the flashback scenes in Hill House. But he's one of those people that hasn't really changed facially from kid to adult so it's pretty easy to recognize him. You see Angelina Jolie, I see a younger, taller Bebe Neuworth. lol

I thought it was a beautiful story and it’s been a week since we finished and I think about it often.
I just thought it was really beautiful.

I don't know, I guess I assumed he just kind of faded away and escaped child star curses lol Interesting comparison with Bebe Neuworth! I can see that too.

So it's been a week since I finished (I think) and it is still stuck in my mind. It was a beautiful story and I love it the more I think about it.

I liked it. Beautiful, sad, etc. there were definitely some large plot holes, but I am good at looking past those.
All of you saying it wasn’t scary are much braver than me 😆 I am a giant chicken when it comes to spooky things however.
