lahdeedah, I have been falling asleep very soon after the kids are in bed. Probably around 745 or 8 and I sleep for 10 minutes. It’s not a full deep sleep so any louder noise will drag me out of it but I feel fully refreshed after the snooze, but then can’t get back to sleep til after 10.
I know I shouldn’t get into bed so early, if I’m not ready to sleep for the night, but I love relaxation that goes along with the stretching out in bed and watching a show.

Yikes vino , cannot imagine sending my kid off to school trying to hide symptoms right now. What is wrong with people?

My next door neighbor (the husband) had a mild case of Covid recently. Once he tested positive, the CDC called them to get their kids names, etc. to follow up with their school to make sure they were not attending for the duration of his illness. I was kind of impressed that they were tracking ppl down. 

Thankfully the wife and kids never got it (the husband was able to go to his parents' house to recuperate since they are at a vacation home currently).

They are definitely doing contact tracing here BUT if you aren't in the circle of positives then we'd never know.  I  haven't quite decided if its a good thing I've got the 'in' on the school happenings or a bad thing.  

Meanwhile my cat is outside running in the yard chasing leaves, I'd like to trade in my life right now for hers....

Here in FL they have a statewide 'dashboard' set up to track cases by school, including both staff and students. I think they also list the # currently quarantined (in the event they're exposed to someone via school). I don't really check it b/c I feel like I really only need to know if someone my child has come into direct contact with is affected, in which case I will be contacted. But there's a FB group dedicated to it and a lot of people are...obsessive.

I'm in the office today and super tired because I stayed up too late playing Mario. Yes, you read that correctly. A grown ass woman didn't get enough sleep because of Mario. Then I was watching a show in the background here at work while doing boring tasks and something emotionally unexpected happened in the show that wrecked me. I was full on crying, had to shut my office door and then preceded to cry through the entire next episode which was now in the forefront. So I'm just a picture of responsible adulting over here.

I feel like Clark Griswold at the end of his rant at the "Where's the Tylenol?" part.

Want some TKD gossip? So the last I left off with our TKD place is we weren't going to renew our membership when it expires on Black Friday. I can't stand the new instructor and neither can the kids. He's a douchey sleazebag who gives me creeper vibes (Rex-Kwan-do) and to top it off his classes suck. We more or less haven't attended the past two months.

MH has been having a hard time cutting the cord and has attended class here and there. Recently Rex mentioned something about a sister school struggling and he's going to swoop in and take over because he's such an amazing businessman (and narcissist). A couple of the moms were complaining about it and how they don't want their beloved Rex (who spends most of the classes flirting with the moms while he has a teen assistant teach) to go off to this other school. So next thing we know, the owner of the place sends out an email that Rex is leaving today and he has two important rules for instructors that he cannot tolerate being broken. This went out to everyone. MH and I are sure those rules have to be 1) No stealing, and 2) No sexual relations with students. What else would they be that would cause him to react so suddenly?

Remember bitchy mean TKD mom? The one who loves to go crazy kicking on me but throws a shit fit if I give her a taste of her own medicine and has done the same with her 12 yo daughter? Well she has also more or less disappeared from the school after being there obsessively. She started attending classes solo even though she used to act like tiger mom with her daughter about it. There was one super weird SAT class in which my family attended and Crazy Mom and Rex were there alone and making odd jokes about glad others came to join them and then after class was over she stayed alone with him.

We're pretty sure they either had an affair or Rex came on to Crazy Mom and she reported it.

Meanwhile the old instructor (the one we all liked who looks like Ryan from The Office) moved back from CA. His business failed because of Covid and I think he and his gf also broke it off. I'm sorry for Ryan's personal struggles, but it looks like he's eventually returning to the school full-time. For now the owner said he will teach a few days a week and Ryan will teach the other days, but the owner lives in a different town and has previously fizzled out on driving down to this school so he'll probably make Ryan take over again.

Whoa! inthekitty What a cluster of drama that is essentially a circle where things will hopefully go back to 'normal', minus the douche and the crazy mom.
Hopefully you guys can get back to what you love doing, as a family.

Well this sounds lovely. I’m jealous of people who can power nap. It usually takes me forever to fall asleep and any naps doesn’t result in me feeling refreshed.

Yes, Rivera mya? I think. Dad said it is being reported there as a 3 or 4. He's excited.... during the storm he went out on the balcony to watch. Said he's never seen anything like it and can't wait to see this. I noped him on that. Stay inside!

I just finished My Big Fat Mad Diary which is a UK show from 2013 that was recommended on Hulu. It takes place in the late 90’s and it was wonderful. And the main male character is so hot! But now I’m at a loss of what to watch next.


I live for that irl drama at tkd! What a hot mess!

Really? I think it’s kind of miserable. A power nap at two in the afternoon sounds perfect. Not at almost 8.

I just finished Crazy Ex Girlfriend last night. It’s a few years old but really really good. I’m starting Emily in Paris tonight.

Offspring. It's an Australian comedy/drama on Netflix about a neurotic OB, her sex life (some hot dudes star), and her enmeshed family. I've really enjoyed it, but holy crap that plot twist got me. I'll have to look into the show you just finished. If you haven't seen Upload on Prime I highly recommend it. I've got Utopia on my list (has Dwight Schrute) in it, but haven't started it yet.

Lolz. The tkd drama was something else. Holy crap. After all of Rex's shit it's satisfying to see him leave in shame (well, he should be in shame, but is too much of a narcissist for that...I'll happily project it onto him).

Cadence joined me in bed in the wee hours. I really wasn't surprised given her day yesterday. Her teacher did say she talked about why she was upset to the class though.

Today was easier when I left.
