The weekend was busy with home renos, the kids were a major help and loved being involved. I just got an email this morning that the quarterly 'choice' for school has been taken away from us, so the decision that we make by Oct 15th will be the decision until June 2021. It's too hard to schedule staff and ensure a proper learning environment. I get it, this sucks for everyone but damn. Augh. I'm sorry.

I’m home from work on my lunch break before an online staff meeting. Our hot tub came in early and is on the way in the next hour! My school district is doing drive thru flu shots for staff Thursday so that’s one more thing I can knock off my list easily.

I just got A out of his crib and he'd taken off his pants and POOPY diaper. Then it appears he threw the poop around the room. Not delightful.

It really is a Monday today. tgrimes sorry for the last minute childcare change. Did they give a reason for why they changed their minds? flamingo I’m sorry. I hope you still have lots of good, happy memories with her to come. vino I’m sorry, I hope you can make a decision you’re comfortable with for the rest of the school year.

vino I’m sorry, that feels insane that you have to make a decision now for the rest of the year! Who knows where we’ll be in 3/4/5 months time... I sure as hell didn’t think we’d be where we are today 6 weeks ago.

I am so tired. I stayed up too late last night watching tv, which is my own fault. H apparently got herself out the door this morning. DH has been getting her ready and taking her to the bus so I just assumed he did it, but then he texted me and asked if she made it on time. I thought he was messing with me but nope, so I looked at the doorbell camera footage and she was out the door on time. Normally she wakes me up to help her but I guess she just wanted to do it herself. S had school and is now playing by herself downstairs. I want to take a nap, but I probably shouldn’t. H has soccer practice this evening and I’m just going to send her with DH. It’s been nice having him take the reigns on soccer, since I had to do dance all of last school year.

I was originally upset that they made us all remote, but it some way, it's easier to have the choice taken out of my hands. klong11 oof to the rough morning. I'm sorry trtlcrzy holy crap. Like she got up, got her self dressed, made her self breakfast, packed her lunch and grabbed her backpack and left? Wow! Child of the year you have there!!!

tgrimes sorry for the last minute childcare change. Did they give a reason for why they changed their minds? They said that due to the # of kids that chose F2F and the TEA guidelines for student teacher ratio, they will be unable to offer after school care at this time. They will reevaluate in the spring.

She woke up, ate a frozen waffle or pop tart, got dressed, put a snack and her iPad in her backpack and left. She eats lunch at school. I set a reminder on Alexa 10 minutes before the bus comes saying “time to go to the bus”. She usually comes and gets me when that goes off.

vino that's rough. I can't imagine making a decision for the entire school year. You definitely deserve a glass of wine after that decision making process! Evie gets up to an alarm clock, but I'm always awake and H is in the shower. She can get herself dressed, but no way she would her routine without waking me. Plus, she takes medicine every morning before leaving and she can't take it on her own. I wouldn't be comfortable with her going outside without me being aware of it, but I live by a busy road. I won't even let her stand on the front porch without me watching her.

guster, wedding, jewels Oh my thoughts...are you sure you want to ask, LOL We have been back and forth for in class instruction since these decisions had to be made. There are just so many moving parts, like everyone, trying to juggle right now. In chatting with my cousin, teacher at his school, I understand that IF a kid gets sent home due to isolating they do not join the current online school classes, they are given a platform kinda like we had in the spring so all the class teachings would be on google slides. Although B does wonderful with either platform, in class, online or google slides, him 'only' having the google slides would mean that he would not be occupied for the entire school day like he is now. Currently, I am able to work from home and he is 'in' school, we take recesses together, I ensure he gets his homework done and he is done by about 2.30pm, where he usually goes to build LEGO or calls his friend and play a math game together. If I choose in class, then any time that we are home completely disrupts his routine and into a new platform. Not to mention increasing exposure with him going to the OSC, travelling in the van with other kids, going to school with other kids, and every time I left work for the day I would essentially have to act as if I am working at home the next day in case one of them needs to stay home. I *think* that if they have a plan to get the kids into the online classes if they are absent for any reason then I'll choose in class. Then I just have to find a way to work from home for the next while so I can drive him to and from school as opposed to him taking the van with the other OSC kids. It was just announced today from the school board so I am going to give the school a couple days to send out their take on it and what specifically their plan is, if I still have questions after that I will follow up with the principal then probably wait until the very last hour to make a decision, which I am sure I will be convinced a million times it's the right or wrong one. /brain dump over.

Wow! So much going on today! @klongoria I’m sorry C is having a tough time with the transition to you working more. tgrimes Ugh, I hate when you have something all worked out and the the right is pulled out from under you. Good luck! wineallthetime I’m so sorry...but I’m laughing. You will too...someday! 😂. My cousin’s daughter did the exact same thing once. I think this would be a good thing to pass off to YH!

I'm in awe trtlcrzy. C does all of those things when he wants to go somewhere but on school days its a struggle to get him to move things along. I let C bike over to the next street alone to meet a friend down by the water. He wasn't gone long and came home upset. He said there were too many people there and no masks so it wasn't safe with coronavirus. I'm proud of him for making that mature decision when he saw people other than his friends. It sucks that he has to be put in that position though.

H got home about 1/2 hour ago and I got the full story. Sounds like DH got her all ready, all she had to do was get out the door on time. She said she knew she had to leave so she just went. She walks the half block to the bus stop every day so I really wasn’t worried about that. She only has to cross one street, which isn’t busy and she knows to look and wait for cars. I normally do try to be up before she leaves and help her.

Hello chatty Cathys! I put in a 9hr work day, w tons of calls, even having to take a call in the school pick up line, so this is my first time checking in today. I hope you can get some care lined up tgrimes. I feel like we are patching it together on a monthly basis here. Things are smooth-ish while I am WFH, but that could always change and then idk what I’d do about B. It’s scary for sure. I’m so sorry about your pup flamingo, truly one of the hardest times of pet ownership. Yuk @wine!

B lost one of her front teeth last night. I’m so glad it’s finally out bc it was loose for months- no joke. I’ll save the pic for Wed.
