New Netflix series. I really just made this because I realized there’s an emilyinparis here and it tickled me. I’ve watched the first few episodes. She’s pretty annoying to me, but gorgeous French scenery and some cute French guys, sold.

I made it years ago after watching The Devil Wears Prada. Maybe I'll check out the Netflix series anyway lol.

I thought it would annoy me but after a few episodes Emily grew on me. I ended up binge watching it in two nights. I enjoyed it as the storyline progressed.

It’s good escapism fluff!

I watched it this weekend. "Escapism fluff" is a good descriptor. Emily is annoying and her clothing are over-the-top like her closet attacked her. The French people are stereotypically portrayed. But the scenery and men are nice to look at. My favorite character was Camille. Overall, it was light and upbeat and a decent way to ignore the world for a bit.

Emily: “Starry night! One of my favorites” Gabriel: “Mine too.”
Dying laughing at her thunderstruck look... like the chances of it being both your favorites is infinitesimally small 😂 Clearly you are SOULMATES if you both love the 3rd most popular painting of all time 🤣

The negative press for this show is really bringing me joy this week, lol. Lou Malnati’s even issued a statement about how disappointed they were in the show 🤣

I can’t bring myself to watch it because I know it will annoy me too much 😂 Oh, it definitely will! 🤣 People kept commenting on the Twitter thread by The New Yorker‘s TV critic that the better option than this show is Call My Agent. It’s a French show and on Netflix with subtitles. Have you seen it? I might watch that. (But I still don’t regret watching the brainless fluff.)
