I just did a shipt order so I could get bbq chicken wings. I went around the house looking for things that were low. They weren’t the exact ones I wanted but they were still good.

Got the diner! Ends up it is Next Generation, not American Girl, but so are her dolls so whatever.
Dentist called. They apparently scheduled Cadence with a dentist that doesn't do the procedure she needs. So they moved her appointment to Nov. 2nd.

Morning. Work is busy, but it’s nice to be able to work from home. I made some French onion soup for tonight. I have a ultrasound and a PT meeting tonight, my parents are eating with the kids. Tomorrow the contractors are starting in the yard. I do not want to be exposed to then, so we’re staying at my parents with the kids. Not ideal in these times, we haven’t had dinner with them inside since March, and now twice in two days, but I really don’t see any other way to arrange this. Also I’m in leave from school as of today. Numbers are raging, especially amongst students and it was to stressful. This is not my normal way of handling things, but I need to put the baby and myself first. I’m sorry you’re dealing with so much stress. If it makes you feel any better, the studies so far show pregnant women not having worse outcomes than the general population from covid. You just have to do your best to stay healthy: wash hands, mask up and social distance.

Happy national coffee day! I’m on my second cup. Today has been the same as usual. I was wiping down my counter a little while ago after making my coffee, picked up the torani syrup, rammed the pump into the bottom of the cabinet and sprayed myself. So now I’m sticky even though I’ve wiped my arms off multiple times. It’ll all be gone for good tonight when I shower. I am making tacos for supper and then I have to work. Sorry your mom told cadence all those things klong11. I would have wanted to be the one to talk to her about them too.

trtlcrzy it’s Taco Tuesday here too 😁 Now at tennis...the kids are on a closer court to the viewing area today so it’s easier to watch. We’re getting pelted with acorns (under big oak tree) but it’s pleasant out otherwise. Kind of funny, literally 30 years ago I was taking after school lessons here and now I’m here with my own kiddo.

So I’m happy not to be going back anymore! My other job I can do from home and in two weeks that’ll be done too 🥳.

U/s went well! The baby is dipping a little (from p70 to p50) but I do not trust the us we had before this one, so I’m hopeful baby will stay within normal range . We got some cute pics and the even showed a tiny bit in 3D, he/she has DD’s nose . Back in three weeks .

chrisy01 I just saw an article about layoffs at your company. Is it weird that they are announcing layoffs will happen before it happens? Seems weird to panic the workers before the time. Has your park opened up in CA?

Has your park opened up in CA? I was just about to post about this. No our park hasn’t opened. I don’t know if I’m safe or not. An email went out to let us know we will be getting a call. I think they did this for the people who are furloughed and don’t get company emails or aren’t checking.

Now we are probably getting tacos for dinner. 😋
My coworker just sent me a pic of a letter she got from our hospital. They have allocated a few million to give out a one time payment to workers (depending on hours worked) for our hard work during the pandemic. I think that’s pretty cool. Now I didn’t get that same letter today. I am wondering if it will include per diem staff, too. If it doesn’t I will have a problem with that because I feel like I have worked my ass off working the temp screening and in my department since this all started. It would be shitty for them not to include the staff they depend on when the full timers are out sick/take off/etc. I guess we will see what happens in the coming days.

Last week our school district sent out several announcements about starting small group instruction for certain students (likely SN). Yesterday they announced plans to start to do in person instruction for K again. Now today they sent out a notice about it all being put on hold until further notice. I wish they wouldn't say anything until they're sure. Even though it didn't impact us, it gives me a taste of the shit-show to come when the kids return to school. As much as I want them to go back, I don't want back and forth stuff. I'd rather wait until there won't be any "take backs" because I think that'd be really hard on them. With a prospected second wave starting in a few weeks I'd rather hold off.

I’m not going to say I’m shocked but I’m still sad. Even if I’m not let go, I’m sure someone I know will be. If it is me I’m not sure what we will do but we will be okay. So I’m not stressing but I’m sad.

So I’m not stressing but I’m sad. I get just being sad about the potential of it affecting people you know. I feel like I’ve been hearing sad/bad news from people I know every week for past month and the weight of it all is just so depressing. Some days I feel super down about everything, but trying to be grateful for all that we do have.

The boys did amazing for the flu shots. M2 went first and didn’t flinch or cry so I think that helped M to be brave. Last year it took both of us and the nurse to hold M down, but he was a Champ this time. Even I was impressed.
But they have been misbehaving ever since we left, so 🤷🏽♀️.

My hospital always includes PRN employees but it’s always a percentage of what everyone else gets: ie FT gets 100%, PT gets 50%, PRN gets 25%. I feel like it should be based on hours worked, not just status though.
