Working from home while M is doing school work. It's fairy tale week so at least she'll be entertained and excited to learn. Friday they get to dress up.

WFH today. Hoping to get more SAP work done. I hate end of fiscal. L is going to school and E to DC so I have some quiet time. Nothing too exciting today

Morning. Work is busy, but it’s nice to be able to work from home. I made some French onion soup for tonight. I have a ultrasound and a PT meeting tonight, my parents are eating with the kids.
Tomorrow the contractors are starting in the yard. I do not want to be exposed to then, so we’re staying at my parents with the kids. Not ideal in these times, we haven’t had dinner with them inside since March, and now twice in two days, but I really don’t see any other way to arrange this.
Also I’m in leave from school as of today. Numbers are raging, especially amongst students and it was to stressful. This is not my normal way of handling things, but I need to put the baby and myself first.

Morning! Waiting for C to finish his first "class" and for L to stop whining so we can go outside. I made an appointment for the zoo later.

Morning. Ls sleeping through the night has been hit or miss. Last night was a miss so I’m dragging. H is already asking what we’re going to do all day, so we’ll probably find a park once it warms up.. it’s only 45 right now. And poor N has no good jackets for this temp that fit so i ordered her a light puffer yesterday but I’m sure it’ll be warm again when it comes.

I want a fairy tale week tgrimes! How fun! I found out a bit ago that our HR, Quality Manager, and Director of Operations, were all fired yesterday. I'm in shock. The DofO had worked for our company for 30 years. I want to go for a walk to clear my head, but I'm worried I'm going to miss something if I step away from my laptop.

B told me today that she didn’t want to take her umbrella to school bc it has princesses (Disney) on it and she’s embarrassed. I guess we’ve hit that age now where they care about looking ‘cool’ or whatever.

Morning.
I'm dragging this morning, B hasnt been sleeping through the night and waking up hella early. This new 'phase' started when MH got home and I'm not a fan. Between anxiety and his FOMO he cannot rest his brain and it's driving me nuts. I've tried; adding a night light, taking away the night light, taking out the monitor to make him feel like a big kid, adding stuffies for him to feel 'safe', shorter bedtime routines, more activity during the day, chatting with him, practicing breathing...every.thing. I'm exhausted, feeling like you've got a newborn when they are almost 7 is not cool.
WFH, grade 2 school and J home today, just another day in paradise.

Wow mwhip ! Sounds like they are cleaning house, I wonder what happened. We will never know. Since we were bought in December, communication is shit. Apparently one of our production employees has filed a sexual harrassement lawsuit against our company, the Quality Manager is the named person in the complaint, who there were 3 complaints against, so not a huge shock. But he did a lot of different tasks and took on a lot when we were bought. HR was a shock, although she had told my boss that she felt like she was being set up for failure. But people really depended on her there and we use a lot of temp employees, so that is going to be a shit show. The DofO is a total shock. He had great relationships with our customers, so I'm worried how they're going to see this.

mwhip my goodness. That must be so weird... vino ugh sleep deprivation sucks... does B have an idea why he’s waking up? he says that he just wakes up, tries to fall back asleep but then needs a hug from me to fall back asleep. Cute...maybe for the first night but over and over, nope. And by looking at his eyes by 5pm I know that he is awake for a while MOTN. So today I am going to talk about his 'hug tank' and 'fill it up' before bed. Which is so very unlike me to be soft and cuddly but here we are.

Morning!
We are back from vacation and have jumped back into real life. We have less than a month til D-day and I feel like that time is going to fly by. I really need to sit DH down to make a list of all that needs to be done. And of course he has watch duty one weekend and his parents are coming (🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤪🤪🤪😡) so that is 2 wknds that are basically shot. Cue stress.
I’m at C’s ballet class ATM, then we have a couple errands to run.

Morning. I’m at work. I am working my second department at my main hospital and they switched it up on me and I’m not thrilled. I would have kept my screening shift had I known.
The boys get their flu shots today at 6pm. We’re treating them out to dinner after- probably takeout because I don’t want to sit outside when it’s 60 degrees with a colder wind chill.

mwhip, Yikes, that is crazy. Will any of this trickle down to your position and create more work for you? vino, maybe a weighted blanket at the end of his bed so when (if) he does wake up in the middle of the night that extra pressure creates a new sensation.

I have definitely thought about a weighted blanket before, looks like I'll dive into research and get one. I'm sure he'd like it cause I still tuck him like the tightest burrito when he goes to bed, he has always needed to be some form of swaddled for bedtime, birth until now...... FX that does the trick.

There's an American Girl diner with all the accessories for $50 at the Kid2Kid here. I'm headed there after work to pick it up. It will likely be hidden and used as a birthday gift. This also means I can get rid of the play kitchen and just replace it with the diner. I hope it has a smaller footprint.

vino, I hear you on the newborn 7 year old. It's crazy annoying. She did tell me this morning that she successfully woke up, rolled over and went back to sleep last night. Cool, but you still yelled for me and woke me up, which made me have to pee, so I had to get up and silently trip my way to the bathroom in the dark in hopes that you wouldn't hear me in the hall. But good job. This week her class is talking about the emotion "worry". So she had to list 3 things that make her worry and #1 is that "mom won't be there". She wouldn't elaborate on it, so I left it alone, but I'm concerned that the death of my mom's dog may have triggered some death thoughts in her mind about people. I told my mom not to discuss cremation, and she did anyway and my mom let me know she also knows my dad's body is in the ground where we go visit. Also something I would have preferred my mom not tell her. Not right now and I wanted it to be told to her by me. So yeah. Welcome to the no sleep club!

I really don't know what is going to happen. In terms of me getting additional work, I doubt it. Maybe just more pressure from corporate instead of direct coworkers. My boss said she was told no one else needed to worry, but that's pretty much impossible. It's hard to concentrate on what I need to be working on. I tried to go for a walk, but ended up talking to the quality manager via messenger about it, then texting another guy I work with about it, while my boss was also texting me.
It's frustrating that the people who came down from corporate aren't having some kind of call or having us all come in, to discuss. Obviously we are going to gossip, why wouldn't you try to get in front of it?

I'm in the office. Thrilling to be here. Get the joy of re-doing training because my supervisor lost the certificates. Meanwhile one of my other coworkers is trying to stir shit with creating rumors that telework is going away entirely. I'm not playing into the drama because I think this is based on nothing but his "hunches." People annoy me.
