Romney will support 45s nominee. fucker This surprised me and then it didn’t. They want a Supreme Court justice who will overturn Roe v Wade, LGBTQ protections, immigration reform, etc. It’s the reason they continue to support this administration. They know Biden will not appoint a conservative justice. If McConnell was in danger of not having the votes, no way would Collins and Murkowski have released those statements. It’s all posturing.

One of my many fights with my parents over the last four years has been about the ACA. They voted for Trump knowing their grandson had a cancer diagnosis and therefore a pre-existing condition. I’m livid at them and don’t even dare talking to them right now because I would go full Hulk.

I was thinking I need to get our passports updated and then realized we aren't really allowed to go anywhere so why bother. I'll just dig a bunker.

My H needs to renew his and I need to get one for my youngest but I read something a while back that said the current administration was delaying or putting off passport stuff unless it was an urgent need so I just kind of forgot about it. I really want to get it done but, meh, like you said we can't go anywhere anyway.

Last time, I think it was for Bart, i can’t even remember...I was hoping they’d all posture that they’d vote yes and then switch during voting to stick it to Mitch and T. I don’t have that hope anymore.

But maybe I'll try anyway.

If nothing else, it keeps that Portugal option open.

And it was processed through the US, so demand might be down and a good time for quick turnaround.

The company I work for announced people could use company time to vote if they need to, and we are also allowed to use our annual volunteer time (8 work hours) to work on election day at a polling place. So now I am looking into that! Has anyone done it before?

His appointment lines up with when DD2's medical supplies started showing up late. Too late for us to use because her course of treatment would change. And now I'm trying to fight the bills because we used none of it because it showed up so late and is all unopened taking up a whole shelf in my pantry. I'm blaming Dejoy. I'm going to put it all in his yard and light on fire then ask my insurance to bill it to him. Fuck. **I actually plan to donate it to our home nursing agency who will gift it to refugee and uninsured families. But I have to fight the bills first. I'll just light a bag of dog shit on fire in his lawn instead.

So if few/no people can be in the office, applications can't be processed. Last I checked, they're catching up now on applications from June.

One of my mental checkpoints for how scared of the administration I should be has been if they stop or significantly delay processing passports for citizens, effectively trapping people here. It is probably ridiculous but I also figure if we haven't made it that far, we might be ok. And then I read that they were holding off/delaying and... My sanity is saved a bit today.

I was thinking about them trying to keep people here against their will but.....IDK, I don't feel like they'd do that. I feel like if a bunch of coastal elite liberals wanted to emigrate they'd just be like, "Ok, bye Felicia"
Idk. Who TF knows.

There is a person in one of my local liberal fb groups that is pushing for Jo Jorgenson because she 'cant bring herself to vote for Biden' and Idaho will just go red anyway.
I have so far restrained myself to ONLY saying knock yourself out in any other election but dont fuck with this one. (but nicer)

It's a long day on election day - I think it's 5:30am-7:30pm w/ two breaks. But he's really looking forward to it. I wanted to do it too but childcare would've been too hard to pull off with those hours. That's really awesome of your company!

I've served as an officer before and I loved it. It is a very long ass day, though. The overwhelming majority of people voting were awesome (even in the 2008 election where our county had recently split the precinct and I had to tell people they were in the wrong location - they were surprisingly nice about it), but I expect this year might be more... trying.

There’s going to be violence in Louisville tonight. 😔 Yep. The national news reporting the downtown already being barricaded off by the police and the state of emergency already being declared say the men who killed Breonna Taylor are not being charged. I bet the next step is the ONE who was fired suing for false termination (or whatever it's called) and either getting his job back or a huge ass settlement for which the taxpayers will foot the bill. ETA: wrongful termination? ETA#2: To be clear, I don't think his firing was wrong.
