As you know, s1 is with my inlaws this week (will be home for weekend and then back for another 4 -5 days). While I think he is listening and following directions I don't think he is having fun. I guess all they did yesterday was swimming, tablet and tv. They've tried doing the park but s1 hasn't been interested. I gave a few ideas, but they involve actually going places and I just don't think my inlaws want to do that (for some reason). I mean they could drive to a city that's about 45 min away (at least one or two of days) to find something. They live in a town with like 3,000. So not a lot to do.
I mean the stuff I gave was stuff they could do there that wasn't the park. S1 isn't a fan of the park unless he has a playmate. So I suggested McDonald play place and the library. Both of which are in their town. I mean, they had 5 kids. So...... they should know how to entertain them right? Plus I sent a lot of games.... which I'm sure Isaac would play if someone would play with him. *sigh* I dunno.

I mean we do stuff regularly but there is more to do here. Then again, I'm also willing to drive farther, occasionally, for different things

Waiting on dinner. Some local rose, and dinner is cooking. Not pictured: the children losing their minds over the time change. Me cracking my head on the car window because I crashed after not sleeping on the plane, and the three hours of extra travel due to delays

jedi - Awe, I'm sorry. It must be tough not having him at home, but also knowing that he isn't having fun. I hope that maybe they can get their act together and be more active with him next week.

Peekaru "Not pictured: the children losing their minds over the time change. Me cracking my head on the car window because I crashed after not sleeping on the plane". I'm hoping that you hit the passenger window while sleeping and not a vehicle crash! Otherwise, everything looks great!

I ordered some drink umbrellas to use at K's party and then remembered I actually have straws that have umbrellas on them already, so I'm thinking of ideas to use these up. Thinking of getting a few Styrofoam balls in two or three different sizes and making hanging decorations. Not sure how great they will look though. Hmm.

Yeah I mean my mil was so excited about this too. Because she wants to "make memories" like my parents do. Well they interact with him a lot. I dunno. He's only been there since Sunday and they have done some things. But I was surprised that after his swimming lesson (at 10) it was all tv and tablet after that because he didn't want to go to the park

That might look cute with small styrofoam balls. Worth trying I think!

fierymama or rectangular styrofoam and use as center pieces? Oh! That might work too! I'll have to see what I can find at the craft store! I also need to find the time to go.

Yeah, I mean turn the sprinkler on, bring out the riding tractor/lawnmower and ride it around (with cutter off), buy a cheap pool And fill it up, go back to the pool for more fun, bake cookies, play games, the library. I totally get down time too. But Monday they went to Dairy Queen and no mention of anything else (other than swimming lessons) so in sure there was a lot tv and tablet time the too.

Hey guys. Just popping in to say we are having a great time! Been chilling beachside all morning. Getting ready to head out to 3 daughters brewery. Then a nice seafood dinner.
For those music lovers, entire soundtrack to the movie, before I fall. I am in love. (Movie was good but sad...youve been warned)

I don't know if I want to scream or if I want to cry, but now K is coming home with a fever. That means two kids home tomorrow, plus an ENT appointment for one in the afternoon. I quit.

booarogue HIII!! I've also missed you, and meant to send out a search party (but got busy..sorry). Thanks for the tips on the glasses. I need to go see about having my eyes checked, and then will look for frames etc. How is W doing with the potty training so far? M refuses to sit on the potty, I think it's too small for him. But I also don't think he is ready yet to try it. We will see.

jedi, sorry you are feeling that your DS1 might be bored. Even down time can still be making memories. I read an article recently about the importance of children being bored, and it builds internal stimuli and the capacity to develop their own interests. I used to visit my grandparents farm every summer for a week or two (no t.v. and obviously no internet or tablets). There was definitely lots of boring times, but I discovered books, taught myself to play on their organ, and spend lots of time with the cows and farm cats! Honestly I would take the time to enjoy your one to one time with DS2.

avocadotoast is it backless? I haven't tried but I watched a video demonstration and have been interested since. Also, there was a fb video of a lady putting it on her husband. It gave him cleavage so it must work miracles! Lol!! Yeah, it's backless. Just sticks on. I think I'll give them a shot. I'll report back with my review! Im not sure how the strings will look under some shirts though... I'm not even sure what my cup size is now, but I'm gonna order on the smaller side, I think that's a safer bet.

I know they planned on the park but with s1 not wanting to play alone and his fear of bugs it's making that hard.

In other news, my moms club went to the splash pad/beach the other day. E was getting fussy and it was near nap. So we left. Right after we left a local talk show showed up and interviewed them. They were all on tv! We missed it probably by a few min

Post and run for now but I hope to be back later to catch up with everyone else, maybe I'll run into aydee. Went in for appt today with OB and had an ultrasound...baby was moving all over but there were some abnormalities. I go in to MFM Friday at 8am for follow-up, so I'll take any good vibes you have to spare. They thought they saw an abdominal wall defect and cystic hygroma. I'm trying to stay away from Dr. Google. I really just want to feel happy about this pregnancy instead of "I'm pregnant but...." which is what I've felt since the beginning. Trying to stay positive though.

fierymama, yeah what about turning them into centerpieces like jedi said? Stick a piece of styrofoam or floral foam stuff in a small vase, fill around it with sand and put in the umbrellas!
