It worked!! He woke up a bit mopey that his feet were still cold under the blanket but he didn't wake me and I slept all night! We'll put some socks on him and see if this keeps up. I don't know why I didn't try this earlier. Yay!!! 👏🏻

i guess i should give that a try tonight with mine. also don’t know why i have not tried that at this point as this has been going on for a month or two now.
i got my very first stranger “it looks like it’s going to be soon” comment today at target. i told her i still had 2 months to go and she was shocked. 😤 i guess i should count myself lucky that it hasn’t happened before, but man people suck.

Did you try it? How'd it go? I had the grocery store owner just point to my belly and ask how I was doing the other day. I wasn't as obviously pregnant the last time I saw him and we are friendly when I'm there so I didn't mind it.

piratecat i still haven’t tried it. i think i need to stop being lazy and help my kid get some better sleep (and me too). i tend to drag my feet on the dumbest/easy fix things. 32 weeks this week and i think this is the first time i have felt like i am just done. i’m exhausted and i hurt. positive note - i’m at the point where i don’t have to wash my hair everyday. i usually have that fine hair that looks greasy by the end of the day no matter what and i love this part of pregnancy. i think that’s a thing? i have my 32 week appointment tomorrow. should be a quick one, but they will do a liver enzyme and bile salt check. how’s everyone else doing? any appointments or updates?

You're pregnant and about to have a baby and of all the times to need your sleep, this is it! I have an appointment next week for my gluclose test. I've gotten nothing ready for the baby and starting to feel anxious about everything else that needs to happen between now and the end of the year.

polson I hear you. I went to put on underwear last night and my pelvis just hurts, and I’m definitely looking forward to not having that anymore! But baby needs to stay in at least 9 more days so DH can get his 12 weeks of paid leave (it’s effective 10/1). I’m also in that awkward time where I just want to get all of the things done but it’s also too soon to do some of the stuff. Like I want to have the crib and changing area set up but the sheets will just collect dust if I put them on now, and it doesn’t make sense to set up the bassinest yet since it’ll take up too much space on my side of the room.

also have gotten virtually nothing done and i am starting to feel anxious about it - these babies are going to be here so soon. we finally got the kids’ rooms painted over labor day weekend so that’s one thing. my aunt is taking the girls to a park this morning so i can get to my mom’s and clean out my childhood bedroom set (i have clothes in the dressers from 20+ years ago🙈). once that’s done we can move that to dd1’s room and move her set to the baby’s room and then i can organize the nursery. i’m excited to start checking stuff off my list.
You're pregnant and about to have a baby and of all the times to need your sleep, this is it!
i needed to hear this. i am really bad at “self care.” i am really feeling like a bad mom because it would probably help her sleep better too and it’s a simple thing to try. eta i clearly don’t know how to snip quotes piratecat

polson, you're not a bad mom! When you're feeling exhausted and overwhelmed it's hard to think of what to do differently. I hope it helps you and her both!

I cannot stay awake! I don’t know if it’s the weather or what but goodness. I am literally exhausted to the core. I barely dragged myself up the stairs to bring some things up to DDs room. I made it through our morning 2 mile walk and went to the grocery store but now I am just like, dead to the world.

OMG 2 miles would send me over the edge 😮 We were going every day but with DDs playgroup schedule, it’s now down to 3-4 days. Most of the time I enjoy it since we go first thing in the AM and see all kinds of creatures, but I’m really just uncomfortable today. My pants aren’t fitting well, I’m sleepy, and DD is being insane today.

Well it didn't last long. We had a few good nights and then he was super congested which woke him up a few nights and then we're now back to him yelling for his blanket. I was frustrated and told him if he can't figure out the blanket he'll have to go back in the sleep sack. Also, it is not even cold.

Also on my pregnancy is fun train: my vag is so fucking sore today and I don’t know why. Is this just normal third baby shit that I have to deal with? It feels like I’m about 4 days postpartum. 😩

Fearsy commiseration - must be 3rd pregnancy. but i’m also pretty close to 40. my body has given up. i’m hoping it recovers. i’m going to buy myself some epsom salts and try to sneak a bath in one of these nights.

I’ve never been able to find a nursing bra that fits me right. My boobs are not cooperative. So my mom converts them for me.

I got one fancy Cake brand one with DD from Nordstrom and it was very much worth the $60 or so I paid for it. Right now I’m wearing a soft, wireless nursing bra from the Auden line at target because it’s stretchy and comfy. I love it a lot and definitely recommend.

That's exciting, Fearsy! What color? I have so much to do but feel a bit checked out of pregnancy right now. I have no motivation to finish the nursery (it's been painted but is still set up as a guest room). I did wash the newborn/0-3 month clothing and bought diapers, so I guess we're good for basics lol. When are you all packing hospital bags? I feel like it's way too early now, but I know October is going to fly by.

We are boring 😆 Washing clothes and having diapers is more ahead of the game than I am! We have clothes but they’re not put away and I don’t have a single newborn size diaper. We will cloth diaper once baby is big enough for one size diapers but we’ll definitely need some NB-size 2 for a few months. With my first I had my bag packed with a last minute packing list ready at 36w. With my second I had a list ready and waited to actually pack anything. This time I will probably do the same. Since we won’t be in the hospital, I’ll likely need/bring less. Maybe will start getting that ready around 39/40w. I have a history of going late so that still gives plenty of time. What’s on your packing list this time around?

White is classic I don't think I'll need much for the hospital; I don't know why that's the thing on my long to do list that I'm thinking about right now. I know I want to bring slippers, snacks, and I'm currently debating which book to pack. My priorities better shape up soon 😂

I have my bag 90% packed because it was something I could do and it helped me feel less anxious a few weeks ago.
I made a list for DH of stuff he might need to do for me if I don’t make it to the csection day- like reassembling the bassinet and vacuuming the nursery. He also has a list of last minute stuff to put in my hospital bag in case I need help (with detailed descriptions because sometimes I swear his glasses prescription doesn’t compensate enough for General Male Blindness).

Also I had some off swelling last night. I was on the computer working for 2 hours straight and got up to my left foot swollen and my right foot not so much. I ended up talking to the OB on call and she wasn’t too worried since my lower leg wasn’t also swollen.
Thursday. I just need to not have this baby before Thursday 😂 (really it’s too early anyway, I’m only 34+2 today, but I really need DH to get his leave).

my bile salts came back normal and my liver enzymes have almost returned to normal levels. i have no idea what that was about.
i need to think about packing a bag. probably snacks, book, ipad, something to wear home for me and baby, some nursing bras. i’m at a loss other than that. i also need to buy some pp supplies. i managed to snag an adult diaper from my grandmas stash (🤷♀️) in case my water breaks - h was horrified. i’ve been induced for both of my previous births and have no idea what it’s like/what to expect if i go into labor on my own.
