Morning all.
I tried to keep up this weekend but it was crazy around here.
I had to take Julia to the Childrens ER on Friday night cause of a sliver that caused issues for some time. On Aug 18th she got a sliver/cut from some mulch at my cousins playground area in her yard, for 10 days I did warm baths and band aids with cream and nothing came out. Friday morning she couldn't even stand on it, so we held her down and one pop and puss came out and after a couple squeezes the sliver came out, I thought it was the end of it but then she was running a fever and again couldn't put weight on her foot by 7pm and it was all red and swollen. Took her into the ER they did an u/s on her foot to confirm there were no other pieces but there was a puss sack, so he did a slice so it would leak out and said that the infection was moving through her lymphatic system which is 'normal' and that is why her foot was all red and had a fever. I got her a prescription for antibiotics and she is finally getting better and back to herself.
Yesterday I headed to the mall as soon as it opened and did some major power shopping but the kids are good for clothes now, we have alllll the bath bombs and shampoo/conditioner we need from LUSH and even scored a couple bathing suits for $10 for Julia next year from Carters and Old Navy. It was a good haul for sure.

Happy Birthday to you, @yummeecookie! Scary, vino! I’m really glad she’s okay! Happy first day to those starting today! These August sites are definitely strange for me. I’m not used to it at all. All my life it’s been an after Labor Day kind of situation.

Cadence is asking for bath bombs with toys inside. Anyone know of a good brand for those?

Hey guys! I responded on the other thread. But I’m happy to hand over modding duties. I want to apologize for not being around more. I kinda have stuck to my blinds hole lately. I do miss you guys and I will do better to check in and say hi to my N13 ladies. Let admin know new pw/ mod and she can easily change it!

Oh wow vino, what a scary thing. I’m glad all was taken care of. I can imagine my kids acting the same way, about not wanting to pull it out.

And thx for the bday love guys. With all the excitement about school, I’ve kinda even forgotten. My SIL came by w lunch for me, which was nice and now she is watching B (who only had a half day) so I can work.
The school pick up line is what nightmares are made of. It took me 35min to get thru it. I’m not happy w the disorganization, mostly bc I got there early but with the shit-tastic job they did directing cars, B was one of the last kids picked up, which she looked upset about.

nam2013, also did you check ASOS? I’ve had good luck in past. When I was largely pg wC, I had a wedding to go to and wanted something very specific and was able to find it there.

yummeecookee hope the car-line improves! Similarly, I heard of ppl waiting 30+ min at the two elementary schools that feed our neighborhood this morning. Ugh. vino crazy that all that was the result of a splinter! Hope the abx kicks in quickly. J is a trooper, for sure.

yummeecookee, Happy Birthday! vino, wow, I can't believe it still had a pus sac without the sliver (i call them splinters) still in. In other splinter news C asked me to look at a bump on his butt last night. He had a splinter in his butt cheek! How does that even happy with shorts and boxer briefs on?! He was very upset with the removal but it had to come out. He also tore his hands up playing on the monkey bars yesterday and ripped some skin off on one hand. Poor kid was a hot mess last night. He told me all of the injuries were worth it though. He had a play date and fishing with my dad yesterday.

As for today, not a ton going on but yet I have been busy all day. The governor had a press conference today to let us know if we can open in person school on 9/14 and we can. There are two districts in the state that aren't quite there so they will start with remote. I'm pretty impressed with everything they are doing. This week they have teams out touring every school to double check facilities for readiness and they were able to get rapid tests so if a student or teacher gets symptoms while at school, the nurse can do the test there and then. It's kind of nice being in the littlest state right now since a lot of this could never be done on a larger scale.

Well. 2020 strikes again. This time it was MH’s work. All but two assistants on the football staff got let go. So far we are safe. FX it stays that way.
I just can’t figure out why now? The contracts are through the end of this year and it just seems out of the blue since there is no football happening here until the spring.

yummeecookee Love tit for the commiseration on the pick up line shit show. I would like to tell you it gets better. But I'd be a liar. Our drop off has improved immensely, pick up...people are parked in the street when I pull out with my kid. I'm usually 15-20 cars back though. My mom asked when she could pick Evie up from school this week. I told her I wasn't comfortable with her doing it yet. My mom drives so slow anyway, I think she would get confused, so until things are more streamlined, I will continue to pick her up.

lahdeedah That sucks, I'm glad your H was safe, but the timing does seem weird. I hope your H continues to stay safe. I'm a KState fan, big 12, they are still anticipating being able to play. I've seen reports of Nebraska and Iowa (I think) wanting to try to compete in the Big 12 this year since their conference(s) aren't playing.

yummeecookee , Happy Birthday! vino , wow, I can't believe it still had a pus sac without the sliver (i call them splinters) still in. In other splinter news C asked me to look at a bump on his butt last night. He had a splinter in his butt cheek! How does that even happy with shorts and boxer briefs on?! He told me all of the injuries were worth it though. He had a play date and fishing with my dad yesterday. Well what I have learned is that if you pop it and just create a hole it will fill back up and kinda seals inside, thats why he wanted to do a little slice on the side to let it run out. Gross for sure, but its good information for when this inevitably happens again. Sorry about C's butt splinter! Glad you were able to get it out, and LOL to him saying 'it was worth it'
