Me? Why? I’ll take it though! I put on those quarantine lbs and i will take any comparison with anything that’s not the couch monster I’ve become. I feel like looks and personality! She's so funny and confident! I’ll taaaaake it, you sweet baby angel.

I signed up for fall baseball since he liked summer so much. He moved from rookie to instructional and the schedule is insane! 2 hours practices and games 3 - 4 times a week. These are 6-7 year olds...this is crazy right? Or am I in for a rude awakening when it comes to kids activities It was like this in VA. I hear it's similar here so I didn't sign up for fall ball, but B has mentioned spring. DH and I didn't really grow up baseball fans so I have zero experience with it, but I feel like it's one of those things I need to expose my kid to, to rule it out if nothing else. LOL. I could write a novel on my thoughts on kids sports being so intense at such a young age, but I'll refrain

Josie’s first zoom went well. They read a book and talked about first day jitters. Her teacher called this afternoon to explain some things, and I feel comfortable with the remote schedule for now, but I know we’ll be back soon. She did say recess was hard and that it’s tough to have kids sit in their desks for so long so she’ll try to incorporate some mini exercise and dances next to their desks so they get a movement break! Are you guys completely remote? Did you have the option? I know you’re not that far from me, so It’s interesting how it varies. Josie ( and Charlie) is remote by choice for now. Her school (We’re in CT) is back 5 days a week full time. We’re waiting to see how MH’s school (in NY) fares with the rules — seniors in high school on a hybrid schedule— and I’d love for some of the kinks to get themselves worked out before we send them back.

Yeah I remember you guys moved to CT. I hope it works out well, for them and YH. We’re doing hybrid and my little one is back full-time, so my older one is doing pods on distance days at the little one’s school. It’s crazy this year. I hope we stay where we are and don’t need to go remote.

Cher, How’d the pod situation come to be? A few of my college girlfriends had to make pods for their kids and it was practically cutthroat.

Cher, How’d the pod situation come to be? A few of my college girlfriends had to make pods for their kids and it was practically cutthroat. So, that’s kinda how it was here. There’s “cool” pods and such. But, we’ve been really cautious and I didn’t want my kid to go in a basement with other kids who haven’t been as cautious as us just because the cool moms set it up. My little one has an amazing preschool. Their camp was open all summer without a single case. They have on-site Covid testing for kids and staff, they converted the entire campus to be outdoors (even in colder weather), they hired a medical director, etc. So, they decided they would do pods for kids on distance learning days. They’re going to keep kids from the same district together but enrollment hasn’t opened yet so they don’t know if it’s possible, two teachers to a pod, they will follow all the guidelines they used at camp this summer. Plus, they applied for an extension to their camp permit and a permit to be considered essential childcare, so even if Cuomo closes schools, they can stay open. They’re also offering music, dance and other after school lessons, so kids can do extracurricular activities. I just feel like this is probably the best bet for having some sort of socialization for the kids for the entire year and I appreciate they’re taking proper precautions rather than just getting a bunch of kids together and hoping for the best. Pods are such a thing here. I don’t know anyone who isn’t doing a pod. So I want him to have that socialization and extra help but I need it to be structured.

Sounds like they are serious about baseball. Lol

Hi Cher! Glad to see you here! Sounds like you’ve got a great schooling situation! I just scheduled an appt for new tires and an alignment tomorrow on the way to STL for Sierra’s appts. This is somewhat risky because if they are running behind it could cause me to be late for her appts. But it needs done. I will probably regret this tomorrow when I’m sitting in the waiting area trying to keep S entertained!

mamabear Cs schedule would have been one 1.5hr practice and 1 game per week.

C was hysterically crying in his room because he was trying to do something on his tablet but couldn’t because he can’t read. It’s the first time he’s made any indication that it bothers him. It was heartbreaking. 😔 I gave him a melatonin for the first time in ages and snuggled until he fell asleep.

H is in soccer, right now they are just doing practices and her first game will be on the 12th. Then it’s just one game a week (Saturday) and one practice a week (Monday). Randomly there is like one Monday game.

She’s doing great. We still are battling seizures, but hopefully over the next 12 weeks as the device they implanted increases its intensity, we will ideally see some improvements!

I saw the post of her going into surgery. I can’t believe how big she’s getting. When did these N13 kids become kids? I’ll keep my fingers crossed you guys continue to see improvements.

Randomly there is like one Monday game. Baseball was probably the most time consuming for a non-travel kid’s activity. Also, it never ends. I like soccer because of the time limit. Gymnastics and hockey are a lot but we are in deep in those. DS’s rink is finally opening Friday but no games until at least November. His league is out of NY so we have to follow their rules, not NJ. Gymnastics still doesn’t know if there will be any competition this year, that’s why I let DD join travel soccer. That starts tomorrow so she will have gym Monday, Wednesday, Friday and soccer Tuesday-Thursday. Her new meds are making her sleep until noon so we have to see how it goes next week when virtual school starts. Tomorrow is the day! I’m back to work and C is back to the sitter. It’s like Christmas Eve, I can’t go to bed even though I will be sitting in an empty, hot classroom watching lots of training. Poor T has no school and no activities still. I wish I had a pod for him or that we could convince him to play hockey (which would be 5 days a week).

Different country, I know, but We’re signing up ds for baseball coming season but it’s just one game and practice once per week. Also games are capped at two hours tops at this age.
