vino, we did B’s room in Behr Sweet Bianca (for obvious reasons, lol). But she was looking for a light purple. I’m happy to share a pic if you want to see it IRL, but it is a bit more strong and vibrant I think than what you are looking for. www.behr.com/consumer/ColorDetailView/M560-1

Also, hi everyone. We got back from NC late Saturday night so I spent all day yesterday doing laundry and catching up around the house. Back at (tele)work today. My SIL offered to watch the kiddos for a while so I can have some peace and quiet so that was greatly appreciated.

lahdeedah I forget exactly where you are since you moved but are you safe from the hurricanes? tgrimes and klong11 will you ladies be getting those storms? Yup. I am not looking forward to it. I'm just hoping Laura doesn't get bigger than a category when it hits and that Marco doesn't bring too much rain so the bayous have time to drain before Laura comes. Otherwise we'll be dealing with flooding again.

I sanded the piano all weekend. My whole body is sore and my fingers are raw. I have the top of one of the legs left and then I need to hit up the piano bench one more time because I didn't get the nooks & crannies very well compared to the rest of the parts. Hopefully I can be done sanding by tomorrow.

Morning. The big girls are at my stepmom’s because V had her 2 month appt this morning. She got 3 shots and her rotatec vaccines. She didn’t do too bad. I stopped for a coffee, if you have a Caribou near you then you NEED to try an iced crafted press so good! Now I’m waiting in the sam’s club parking lot for my friend. They have huge monstera plants for $15 and I need one. I’m surprised with how many cars are in the parking lot, don’t people work? Lol I hope S has a great first day back lfig!

Paging OG N13er loony I know last year the wildfires were extremely close to you and I think maybe your moms home was one of the casualties. I wanted to make sure you’re safe. I didn’t know what part of CA you were in. Hey Girls Hey! We're in Northern CA. Thankfully my mom did not lose her house but the fire line ended up about a mile up the hill from her then. So far we've stayed safe, even though air quality has sucked everywhere and PTSD is a real bitch. Thanks for thinking of me!

I got them on super sale this spring but I assumed it was due to Covid, maybe they were actually clearance'd. I'll keep an eye out for you!

Hello! We have been at the pool the past 4 nights in a row so we are taking tonight off. It's fun. but exhausting.
Last weekend you may recall I tried to throw B in underwear and hope for the best. He did ok, but not great. So back in pull ups he went for the week. Saturday I started again. He has 3-4 accidents on Saturday but mostly while running to the bathroom so I was pretty happy. Sunday, he was accident free all day till 4:30 when I put him in a swim diaper to go to the pool. Today I decided to keep him home to give another day. He did great. No accidents all day till about 45 minutes ago. Then he had 2 within 15 minutes of each other. And didn't tell me about either of them.
I'm annoyed. Because he clearly can do it. And I am afraid that if he "willfully" pees on himself at school that they will make him go back in diapers. I'm sure they are already annoyed that they are dealing with this at his age.
Ugh

jewels PTing is stressful but you both are doing great. Keep at it and he'll get it for sure, I would assume that if you are communicating with them about the progress then they'll be ok with any accidents. Plus I kinda think that the daycare should be taking them every hour on the hour, you cannot trust a kid when they're knee deep in fun to stop and take time to pee. As Julia says 'THIS WILL TAKE FOR AGES'

MH is currently outside supervising B as he learns how to mow the lawn, he's doing great and was very particular that he would wear his old shoes 'cause Mom they're going to get so green while I mow the lawn, cause I'm doing it for real this time'.
ok kid, fill your boots with these adult chores.

DH took the big girls to H’s first soccer practice. It is 96 degrees with like 50% humidity so I’m glad I got out of it. I sent a ton of water so hopefully everyone has fun and is fully hydrated. jewels I feel like PT has to be all or nothing so I wouldn’t go back to pull ups. He’s doing great and will be accident free before you know it.

Oh I'm definitely not going back to pull ups trtlcrzy. I'm just concerned about DC. He's already the only non - PT kid and the new kid. I'm probably just projecting here. All in all he's doing pretty well. I'm hopeful for tomorrow.

Phew! long day here. I got B's room finished and mostly put back together--both kids need new lamps/drapes/artwork but at least the 'work' part is done and now I can focus on the fun stuff. I think next up is their bathroom and then that 'wing' will be complete, from a painting standpoint.
Most of the afternoon was spent on admin-type stuff...school paperwork, setting up appointments, etc. We decided we want to hire a landscape designer to come up with a plan for our front yard (and eventually the back, too) so I was stalking our neighborhood FB page for recs. I think I found two promising options and spoke with one today that I liked, so hopefully we can get that nailed down soon-ish.

Hello!! Today was Chase's first day at the new daycare and it went great. It's odd dropping him off to a place I haven't stepped foot in for about 7 years but he had no fear and is excited to go back. I only hope there are no prolonged closures ahead of us, but who knows?
Colin is so impatient for school to start. I am, too, honestly. I'm so afraid of any last minute changes, he's really counting on being in school a couple days a week. We've talked with him about the likelihood that he'll end up back home full-time, but I think a month or two of in-person classes would make such a difference.
Oh brother! So we ended up bike riding at the old (closed) middle school this morning because training has started at the schools. It turned into a talk about how the Sandy Hook kids used the school and that their school had to be torn down after a bad person with a gun got inside and hurt people. We didn't get too deep into it but I did explain that's why they do their lockdown drills. How insane that we have to have these conversations with our kids?!

peachsmama Please ask A how many coats of the Kona he did and/or how long he left the stain on before the polyurethane.

peachsmama Please ask A how many coats of the Kona he did and/or how long he left the stain on before the polyurethane. 1 coat, but that depends how dark you want. He let it dry an hour before poly. He doesn't let the stain sit on very long before wiping. It soaks in quick. He said make sure you use a clean spot on the rag for each swipe taking it off.

I guess I get to spend part of my day putting Evies name on her supplies. Im annoyed they waited til the last minute. Plus, one elementary school in our district is having kids bring in minimal supplies, in case they have to switch to remote learning. But we are sending all our supplies by the end of the week. The inconsistencies among schools is annoying.
Evies rheumatologist was happy with her progress, she thought Evie is at 95%, but wants her to be 100%, which i do too, so we are switching the anti-inflammatory she is on. Of course the script called in wasn't in stock, then they told me what the copay would be, so I called the Dr office back to switch it to pill for vs liquid. So hopefully we will be able to start that tomorrow.
