A friend stopped by last night and we went to a Greek place for dinner. I love Greek food. They have so many great vegetarian options. My family hates trying anything new so I thought they'd hate it and complain. MH loved it and the girls were ok with it. I'll take it!

Morning! Good luck today kim22, let us know how things go. No big plans here...I’m puttering around doing housework and I probably need to hit the post office at some point.

Morning. It’s cool and overcast outside, which is so nice. I know this means fall is coming but it’s going to be 90s the next few days so I’ll take it when I can get it. Regular day at home today, just hanging out. We will get outside this afternoon. I have laundry to put away. I hope everything goes/went well with the procedure kim22

I'm also annoyed it's only Thursday inthekitty. The weeks seems to go so slow. Which is weird, because I think back to big things that happened prior to Covid and it seems like it wasn't that long ago. It's like a weird time warp we are in. My example is the Chiefs super bowl parade. Standing in a crowd of half a million people, freezing my ass off, all freaking day. It seems so long ago, but not that long, and it was just February. I can't even imagine getting involved in something like that anytime in the future. kim22 I hope everything goes great for your daughter! My dad called me this morning and told me E woke up in the middle of the night and had a major meltdown because she missed me so much, so she wanted to come home early today. So I guess I'm taking her to the office quickly this afternoon when I run in. I told her I'm going to remind her how much she missed me, next time she's being a turd. I was out for my jog/walk and one of our neighbors who is moving was setting out some crates. I thought they would work great for Evie's toys, so the next time I went by, he had set out more and they were purple, so I stopped and asked if they were for someone in particular and he said whoever got them first. I came home and got my Jeep and went back and grabbed them all. We need to clean them out, he said they had been in their basement for years, so they're in the backyard waiting for me to spray them out. He had also sat out a small fan, so when I went out for 2 more laps, I grabbed it the last lap and brought it home and it works. I'm pretty sure him and H think I'm some hoarder/collector. I figure what we don't use, we can't set at the end of our driveway and return the favor.

Morning. My husband went to check out his classroom this morning, no sanitizers, cleaning products were available for use in classrooms, beyond ridiculous. Luckily I could get some big bottles trough my other work (major care organisation). I spoke to my supervisor’s supervisor today and we made a plan to keep me busy and safe at the same time, I feel good about it. We had a contractor over today. Apparently we need a landscaper to help with exces water in our garden. I’m so not in the mood to deal with contractors, landscapers, insurance company’s etc...

Hi.
I am just not feeling it today. I’m just exhausted from the past few days. I have less than 1 hour to go at work. I didn’t have much time to catch up on house things yesterday. M has been asking to go to Target since last Friday to spend some of his money so I finally took him yesterday. The surgery got in the way of his Target trip last weekend. He bought a $5 nerf slingshot. I should have got M2 one, too because they fought over it all last night.
Hoping to catch up on housework today.

Papa has a pool, she should have been playing in it all day today, since it will be her last time to go over there unless we make it another weekend. I'm just glad I can remind her how much she missed me when she's being a brat!

Blah.
Poor X had a textbook autistic meltdown this morning. They are very rare for him, but there was nothing we could do to help him calm down. I finally had to lie with him and hold him down with his blanket and pillow and he just wore himself out after about two hours. I feel like I wrestled an alligator. Hope his day gets better.💔
We decided to pull Dude from the center where he was doing his distance learning. He cried last night saying that they have no toys, they didn’t get recess, and he is afraid of the virus. I was torn on it because I felt he could use the socialization, but if he is very concerned and he isn’t getting time to play outside or hang with his friends, what’s the point? Kind of counterproductive. I didn’t see that situation improving his mental state. I don’t want him to think that he can get out of things he doesn’t want to do, but at the same time I want him to know his feelings are important. Still not sure we made the right decision, but I want him to feel safe and heard more than I need to force the socialization, I think.
What are your thoughts?

cagoldi sorry about X this morning, poor guy I agree about pulling him, they are old enough to understand their surroundings and needs to a certain extent. He's the one in the center all day and if he is telling you that he isnt getting to play etc then it's true, he has no reason to 'lie' IMO. So you pull him or bring it up with the center to understand their schedule and voice your concerns over the lack of socialization. This is hard and I dont think there is a 'right' answer in any of this but you know your kids the best and he's always been very mature for his age regarding his surroundings.

cagoldi I'd keep him home. I know it's not the same as peer group, but luckily he has siblings to interact with. I have a feeling a lot of these pop-up centers will be like that--minimal decor so it's not warm and homey because it's something put together on the fly. No reason to feel guilty if it's not working for him.

cagoldi I hope X has a better day today, poor kid. I also agree with what vino said, she said it better than I would have. We are all going to second guess the decisions we make for/with our children during this time. What works for one family might not or simply won't work for another family. We have to go with our instinct at this time. There is no right or wrong, it's just what is best for your family.

I definitely don’t think that he is or was lying, it’s not something really in his repertoire. Which is not to say he’s never tried, there have been a few occasions, but when I said, “I’m not quite sure that’s completely truthful?,” he would admit he was not telling me everything. I can tell when he is just trying to get his way versus very sad/upset, and it was definitely the latter this time. He just was lying in bed crying when I told him we had to get ready for school. Gah, so sad. Good news, though! We got our first lesson on the books for the equine therapy program as of next Thursday, so something to look forward to.

cagoldi I’m so sorry those break downs are so hard/heartbreaking at the same time. I agree with others, what kids need the most is to feel safe at school. If they don’t feel safe they most likely won’t learn and it’ll probably interfere with their ability to socialise, so what is the point at that stage... not sure what’s allowed and what isn’t where you’re at. But, if you want him to socialise with peers maybe you can reach out to two/three of his old school friends that live close by and arrange a play date a couple of times per week outside? We did this with ds and he loved to play with a peer iso Dd all the time.

Hi. We are home. DD did well. A pediatric radiologist did the test and found she has reflux but I don’t know if that’s the cause of her other problems or just something else she has. I have to wait to talk to her doctor later today or tomorrow. It was pretty cool watching the test, I really may have missed my calling to the medical field. My thumb is alright but the cut is right across the center on my dominant hand so I keep ripping it open. Tonight is the big board meeting to see what happens with school. I’m trying to tell myself it is what it is. Tomorrow we will head to the beach probably until I go back to work on the first. Saturday will be attempt # 4 to get T’s friends to come down. I really hope it works out, he is the one who really has done nothing.
