Things are just...going. Z is good, but still having trouble with 2 year molars so waking up often at night. My sleep is already bad. J had an appointment with a GI doc on Monday for poop issues. We have a plan in place. Maybe one of these years I will be able to get him potty trained. I have my own GI appointment this afternoon for abdominal pain that has been going on for about a month. J starts virtual school next week and I still don't really know anything, but I will at least find out who his teacher is tomorrow. Still waiting for the call to discuss his services since he has an IEP

We've been without electricity for two days. It's good to back. We are now the proud owners of a generator so we're better prepared for future outages. My ILs were so helpful. They brought us a hot meal, fuel for the generator, and cooler of ice filled with milk, cheese, yogurt, and juice to get us through another couples days if needed. People were driving 50-80 miles one way for fuel so that was especially helpful. Our daycare provider is still without power, but she's willing to take the kids, so we'll probably send them back tomorrow.

Not a whole lot going on over here. My husband is taking the baby (ha!) to her two year old well check today. My oldest is still doing online learning and I hate her homework. Lol, I am not good at teaching her or remaining patient!
I have had pulsatile tinnitus since being pregnant and have ruled out few causes. It’s effecting my hearing to a tiny degree. So, I have and MRI/MRA scheduled on Monday to see if they can figure out why. I’m mostly nervous they won’t find anything and I will have to live with it.

We have a couple of big wildfires and the smoke is terrible today. I had to ask our childcare provider to keep the boys inside. My chest is tight. It even smells inside.

kam3100, We were in the direct path of the derecho that went through the Midwest. Winds were clocked at 112 mph a mile north of our house. Our community is devastated. The damage is unfathomable, yet here we are. It'll be weeks before everyone's power is restored. We are one of the lucky ones with mostly buried lines from the nearest substation so we were among the first to have power restored.

PennyCandy, hopefully they get them under control and you don’t have to stay inside for too much longer.

ohreally, I'm glad you guys are ok. I'm surprised this hasn't been in the national news more. The pictures look devastating.

ohreally , I'm glad you guys are ok. I'm surprised this hasn't been in the national news more. The pictures look devastating. We're all surprised about that too. City crews and utility companies have been awesome in their responses. It's taken a few days for everyone to get their feet back under them, but free meals, water, ice, etc. all started today for those in need. Mother Nature has been kind with the weather since the storm so that's really helped with recovery efforts. The hottest our house got without A/C for two days was 79 degrees. It dropped to 73 overnight with the windows open. We should do that more often in the summer!

I’m wondering if you guys would be good with a more they thread instead of weekly? I know our group is slow to post. I also have a feeling that many of us wait for a new weekly thread before posting.

I don't mind starting the weekly. We were in a mini vacation this week and I forgot. 🙃 Ooooh color me jealous! Only was there Sunday through Wednesday, but the weather was perfect. The kids had so much fun on the beach. Haley loved playing in the sand. Only down side is that the beds at my aunt's house are not very comfy.

I commented on a local reporter’s fb post and the next minute I was doing an interview over zoom. It aired tonight. I wish I had put makeup on today! At least my hair was pretty.

I hope your message was well received by many. Not enough people take the time to understand the complexity of situations and how ALL people may be impacted.

Not sure how it's already Friday. Storm clean up continues in our community, I continue to plug along at work. Still no start date for school for any of my kids (due to storm damage to all 31 school buildings), so my husband and I are just trying to keep the kids busy on the weekends to help pass the time quicker. This weekend we'll get out the kiddie pool and camp out in the backyard, the following weekend we're staying a couple nights at an Airbnb 2 hours away to visit the zoo and do some hiking, and the weekend after Labor Day we're staying the night at a hotel with an indoor water park. Fingers crossed school starts around the 14th. Covid and mother nature are really testing everyone's patience.

Things are ok here. Just kind of chugging along. DS turned 2 three weeks ago and I can't believe it.

It has been a whirlwind of a week for us! We visited family last weekend since DH’s grandparents we’re celebrating their 50th anniversary. Then we had a small family birthday party for L with my ILs. L turned 2 this past Tuesday and we did homemade pizza for the 3 of us. Then last night, L and I drove to visit my family because my sister had her baby! She had a long labor that ended in a c-section, but she’s doing well and the baby is doing well! It definitely stirred up memories of L’s birth for me, but her c-section sounds like it was a lot calmer than mine (she was awake with her husband there with her) and she’s been handling it all really well!

My whole family is sick. Dh and the 2 year old have strep. Me and the 6 year old had fevers. I went to urgent care and they did a Covid test because I have shortness of breath. But today all of our fevers broke so we are on the mend. It’s been an interesting few days.
