Is anyone here? I feel like I'm talking to myself...more than usual.

Our lake plans got cancelled because I didn't realize we were short a life vest so we went to buy one and found out some asshat bought every effing life vest in town to sell online for more money. People are dicks. So I ordered some from Amazon and they should arrive today so hopefully we can get out on SAT.

Yesterday I watched the first movie that popped up on Netflix (The Lost Husband) and from the 3 seconds of the preview I thought it was a scary movie about people attacking a widow and her going to fight back. Nope. It was Hallmark-esque about a woman who finds love after moving to her offbeat aunt's farm. It was ok.

I'm at the office....googling how to paint a piano. I'm going to look at one after work that's a few minutes from my house. It's pretty scratched up but i think it might be easier to paint it than to try and sand/stain it.

Hopefully it's all in working condition and all i have to do is find some willing friends to help move it.

I'll just continue talking to myself...my mom got a baby shower invite from my second cousin. She hasn't seen this grand-niece in about 10 years. It's her 2nd kid. She's throwing it herself and because of Covid there is no actual shower, so it was just an invite to send her gifts. Plus you're also supposed to mail her diapers in addition to the gift and complete some cheesy little fill in the blank that had about a dozen items (stuff like "I hope you have your mom's _____," "I hope you never _____").

Tacky people are good for lolz.

I’m here too guys. Went to the gym this morning and just doing my WFH now. MH is trying to plan a last minute beach getaway for us before the month is over and school starts so maybe I’ll be traveling next week!

Hi I’m working from home today. C loaded the dish washer to the max last night but didn’t start it and then wondered why we don’t have any clean dishes this morning. Kids are in E’s room and I’m waiting on 2 grocery deliveries. I’m working but not very quickly.

Also hi! It is still in the 90 over here and my WFH space is upstairs in a room where it gets around a 100 degrees during the day, so I opted to go to the office. It was nice to see a few coworkers .

cagoldi He said it was crazy. The guy he works directly under, got a call at noon, that his brother passed away, so he is out for the week. I think it was kind of expected, based off what H found out, but he didn't really have someone to show him much the rest of the afternoon. He did see lots of room to make a difference, with all his experience, so I think it will be good, once he has proper training. Thanks for asking.

Nothing exciting here today. Just working, but it's slow.

cagoldi oh no! I’m trying to believe that a vaccine will be available early 2021. I read and article the other day that come November 26th the Netherlands we be back in a complete lock down... im due November 24, it’ll be interesting to see how we hold out in lockdown then 😂.

I dread this conversation.  At 43, I still monthly think how much I hate my period, how I feel gross, so I'm not going to be good at it.

nam2013 , M is the older one. She's almost exactly 2 years older than C, my N13, so she'll be 9 this fall. Thankfully she hasn't shown signs of being there yet, but I know some of her cohort is.

mwhip I dread this stuff too. I kind of hate that feminists try to tie feeling rah-rah and empowered about your period as a pro-woman thing. I can be pro-woman and feminist and think periods suck--because they do. Let's get real. Talking about it so far hasn't been too bad because I've very straight forward and honest about my feelings about it. It would be so inauthentic of me to act like "yay! Let's celebrate womanhood!" when it comes to this stuff. So I'm more like "yeah, it's gross and it sucks, but you can talk to me about it."

M will probably be a nightmare when she's full on in the throes of puberty. She already turns her emotions up to 11 when they strike. Woof.

I worked this morning. It was busy. Came home and ate lunch and I’m now willing myself to get off the couch to workout. I have to do it today. Nothing exciting here.

M2 was watching a YouTube show yesterday and ran to me and asked to go the beach. I wish we could kiddo.😕

I’ve been slammed at work today and right after I pick C up he has his guitar lesson. He hasn’t practiced at all so we likely won’t continue but I spoke with the instructor and he will feel him out tonight.

Our Governor said school opening will likely be delayed since schools are saying they need more time to prepare. We were supposed to start 8/31. Final decision will be 8/17. Looks like I’ll have to keep shelling out for full time care a bit longer.

Our board of ed zoom presentation was really something. The actual presentation from them was great but the public comments part was very entertaining. One dad’s turn to speak came and he was doing yoga in what I could only call yoga panties. Another mom wants fully virtual option but would also like the school to arrange play dates for her kid???? A board member apologized for his migraine and kept nodding off and then fell over like he died and his camera was just on him, head down on a desk. I kinda wanted to call 911 and have someone check on him.

Went to Target and bought school supplies blindly since we have no idea what we need and then went to the mall but lasted 1 store before C threw a fit and we had to leave.
