thatgolfb , it is the top of the threshold for normal, but my OB explained that BP should be in a dip at this point in pregnancy. It typically drops in second trimester. It's more the rising trend that he told me to watch for, and in three weeks I've gone from consistent readings of ~105/70 to 120/80. ETA: It also depends on where you start, so says my OB. I started with a BP just on the lower end of normal, so the recent readings are unusual.

Isn't a BP of 120/80 like... super average? lol. Do they want you to be below that number? That was my thought too! I think I was at like 117/80 last week at my appointment. I tend to be higher when I first walk in (white coat syndrome) but I was happy with that number. I have white coat syndrome, too! They have had to retake mine pretty much every time. I did have higher BP at the end of my pregnancy with DD, but I am not too concerned yet. My friend that is an OB did say that BP tends to actually get lower in pregnancy, especially early pregnancy, which I thought was interesting.

thatgolfb, I know what you mean about energy. I've been doing a ton of cleaning and organizing, and I always start off with a ton of energy, but by the end, I'm ready to pass out on the couch! Have fun with the Doppler! Mine was a lifesaver until I could feel movement, but I still use it for fun sometimes.

bethkate and thatgolfb, my OB's nurse always takes my BP the old-fashioned way because the automated machine at the office gives higher readings. I definitely have a bit of white coat syndrome with the first reading and the second is always lower! She also NEVER STOPS TALKING which does not help. My OB has me monitoring at home because he knows my readings are usually better, haha.

We did some light yardwork on Sunday (all I did was plant some herbs and a couple other things) and my lower back was killing me by the end, and I was so tired. I took a nice nap after lunch, LOL. My weekend post-lunch naps have been on point lately.

How far along are you? 22 weeks today
Appointments coming up? 24 week appointment is on the 25th. According to the ultrasound at that appointment, I will probably start going to a specialist
How are you feeling? Physically I'm feeling fine although this is a lot harder when running after a toddler. LOL Emotionally, that can vary by the hour. As long as I'm busy, I stay out of my head and don't worry. When I'm not occupied my mind jumps to worse case scenario for this pregnancy.
Any updates/interesting tidbits from recent appointments? Not really
QOTW: What is your favorite summertime treat? ICE CREAM. I'm that lady that will run out to the ice cream truck by myself with no shame.

How far along are you? 21 weeks
Appointments coming up? Just had my 20 week so nothing until August
How are you feeling? Pretty good though I do notice I'm slowing down a little. Not sure if it's pregnancy or the heat.
Any updates/interesting tidbits from recent appointments? I had a conversation with the OB about some headaches I've been having. I asked if it could be hormonal, maybe food triggered, or possibly a sinus infection (I felt a rush of pressure when I bent over in yoga the other day). Instead of indulging me she suggested I see a neurologist. Fortunately after the appointment I realized I'd been using the wrong contacts in my left eye and changed them and so far no headaches for 2 days. I think I'll give it a week before I call a neuro.
QOTW: What is your favorite summertime treat? Ice cream or Italian ice, though I do enjoy some nice cold watermelon.

laurensc927, I had a ton of headaches between 12 and 20 weeks. Mine were hormone/dehydration related. Your contacts in the wrong eyes will definitely do that too!! I feel like a referral to a neurologist is quite the jump, but I'm not a doctor lol. I'd wait to make an appt too. My nurse straight up told me to stay inside when it gets so hot out due to dehydration risk. I've been listening to that advice as much as possible. Heat + Humidity = unhappy pregnant lady.

grumpycat I should specify it's the right prescription strength but not for astigmatism. I think maybe I was trying too hard to focus out of that eye, especially since the headaches were all on that side of my head. I've been upping my water intake too to see if that makes a difference. I had a lot of low grade headaches around 12 weeks, a splash of coffee seemed to help them for me. They haven't really been happening since probably 18 weeks now My app assured me they were normal!
