Just checked E's temp and she's at 100.4 F. She's had a gazillion poops over the last 2 days so she must be fighting some virus. Really hope it's dropped after taking a good nap.
H is headed to Iceland for a bachelor party today so I would not enjoy solo parenting with a sick baby and a not quite successfully potty trained (or apparently sleep trained according to last nights shenanigans) toddler. I should make sure there is wine and ice cream in the house.

Ok I was thinking something else when I saw pork belly. It's pretty much fat. I'd probably do 1 or 3.

Geeze starbuck. Your higher ups seem to be really awful at communication. And good luck with the freelance gigs! I hope they both work out for you!

starbuck when I started reading your post I thought you were going to tell us you wanted to adopt. I was like damn girl! Get a bigger house and bam! Let's fill it up! (I mean, you would absolutely rock more kids. You seem to be handling your current state with ease, but I just remember you saying you were done)

But it should be a great time and H really wanted to go for this friend.

I'm done regardless; they asked initially for the entire month and I said no to that. I'm over their drama. Plus, W is OOT with my parents next week but after that he doesn't have camp, school, or anything until mid-August when the church school starts back up. I'm not in the mood to deal with all that going on.

Who goes to Iceland for a bachelor party?? it was either that or yacht week in Croatia. I wish I were kidding. At least H and I were on the same page that yacht week wasn't a possibility for us.

Morning! ETA: er, afternoon
We got back from our trip last night; it was a busy weekend, hence why I wasn't around. We survived the visit with the ILs so hopefully won't have to do that again til the new year.
I've got B in 'camp' this week (muahaha) so hopefully I can hang out here a bit more.
Also, holy cow, my baby is 8 months old today. I feel like this year has just been a blur. #secondchildproblems

starbuck that all sounds really exciting and fascinating. I didn't know you were into writing. I think you'd be great at it! Ya my background in all nonprofit fundraising, but like the writing of appeals and grants and things like that, not the face to face side. I'd rather not write grants anymore but with the kids so young and requiring so much attention I think maybe now is the time to stick to what I know. I can diversify when everyone is older.

dashook and sophiegrace I am just happy to see you guys around. I wish things were going more smoothly at home for you. I understand needing some time to step back and deal with what's going on. You'll always have a place here, and a place to unload. It's all cyclical. Sometimes things are great and you guys have both been awesome to everyone here when we are hurting. So if you need to be on the other end and receive some love and get uplifted for a time, you'll get nothing but positive support when you need it. Then things will calm back down and someone else will need a hug and you will be there. Don't be concerned about how you're coming across and whether or not you have been super supportive recently. We have a history together, and a lot of goodwill built up on the board. I think this goes for everyone here, honestly.

This crowd sounds like the one a guy-friend of mine from high school runs with...they just went skiing in the French Alps for someone's bachelor party. #mustbenice

exactly. Eta: this group of friends obviously have a much higher disposable income than we do in order to choose this trip. But it should be a great time and H really wanted to go for this friend. That's crazy. I first thought I read it wrong. Then I thought there was another Iceland somewhere in Canada (remember, I don't know where the mason Dixon line is). But on a serious note I hope E is feeling better fast.

I am guilty of being away since the switch; I'm more 'in the habit' of hanging out on my other BMB since I go way back there but even my participation there has dropped off. For me it's just circumstances...ever since the move and moving in at my parents' we've just been go-go-going. I feel terrible/guilty popping in and out here and I really miss everyone when I'm not around. I can't promise the immediate future will be better but once I get B back in school in September and we are settled in VA I promise to be around a lot more. For better or worse

Are your friends celebs who are into pay for play by chance? Because that's all I think about when I hear about people going yachting thanks to the Blinds threads. Not that people around me casually talk about going yachting often... or ever.

I need to figure out my second career for when the kids are older. They are for the most part in financing in NYC in big firms. One guy is a chemical engineer. Another in corporate real estate. My H randomly fell into this friend group years ago through a craigslist roommate.

They just live a lifestyle and NYC is all about the biggest and best and keeping up with the jones type activities.

jubilantsquirrel I vote pork belly! +1 to people hesitating to post about downer things. Don't feel like you need to go away because of that, we're here to help you with whatever it is your going through. Also, this is me right now on the parental leave that my company owes me! I love my job ❤️ Now if only this place had hot guys serving frozen drinks life would be perfect. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
