Morning! How are all you east coasters doing???
I'm at work today. My sister, BIL and their three kids are at our house watching our kids. They aren't the neatest people so I'm fully planning on coming home to a disaster of a house but that's ok.

Morning!
Just made blueberry muffins for the kids. I need to do some housework today, and I'd like to take C to get outfitted for ballet. Would prefer not to take B along--hello, torture--but not sure what time DH will be home.

Rough nights sleep due to a migraine that keeps popping in and out but I woke up to the good news that Cs camp has power so off he went! It helps that his camp is between town center and the mansions. They always get their power restored quickly.
Should be a light work day. Which is good because I have another season of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After on my queue. It may also be bearable outside humidity wise so I can work on the porch some.

Morning! S and I are on our way to STL. I have an appt for another cortisone shot in my hand and S has an appt with orthotics to get her new inserts for shoes. My mom is meeting me for lunch and to sit with S while I go in for my appt.
Did I tell ya’ll my parents sold their house? They close in a week and are frantically trying to pack up and figure out what to do with everything since they will be going from a huge house to an RV. They got 2 storage units and then are bringing a load of stuff to our house for storage in a few days. But I didn’t want to hinder their packing efforts too much so we are doing today’s appts all in 1 day. We usually stay the night since it’s 3 hours 1 way. I will be exhausted tonight.

Also, we finally got Sierra’s surgery scheduled for the Vagus Nerve Stimulator. It’s the 18th of this month. I’m hopeful that this will give her some seizure relief!

Hello. Still no power here but the beach is back on. I just had an eye doctor appointment and now DH is on a call so not sure what we are going to do. Power was estimated for 10:15 am but that has passed.

Morning. The orchard was lovely and they had great (decaf!) coffee which is always a plus in my book. I slept fine, but feel exhausted. We’re having cold pasta salad for dinner, which normally I love, but I’m not in the mood, not sure wat I do want 🤷🏼♀️.

lfig safe driving today, that is a long day. I hope everything goes smoothly! I'm always in awe of people who can live out of an RV, I feel like a pack a lot of shit for vacation for a week, I can't imagine trying to pack my life up! I heard back from E's rheumatologist on all her labs. Confirmed the elevated inflammation markers, which has been pretty consistent since we went to the ER. She's also anemic, so we will be making some dietary changes. Her ANA is positive, which means she is higher risk to develop eye inflammation and will require eye exams every 3 months (and probably the scariest part of all of this to me). I'm going to email her back shortly and let her know we think the swelling is going down and she isn't experiencing anymore pain currently. also have her refer us to a pediatric opthamologist since her appt yesterday was at 8:30 and they didn't leave until 10. Did jewels power come back on yet? kim22 I hope yours is back soon!

mwhip their plan is to stay in the RV for a year. Then buy a condo with no outside maintenance. However, I think my mom is having some panic set in because she loves her conveniences. And all her things. I told my sister we should start a pool to see how long it lasts 😂. It’s a huge fancy RV and brand new.

I don't think I'm built for RV life either. I think even if it were just MH and me, I'd need more space from him than that would allow. Not to mention stuff. I could get rid of a lot of stuff, but not that much stuff. Long drives in a big clunky vehicle in which I'd have to go the speed limit or slower would also test my patience.

My period was an entire week late then blessed me with it's presence Monday and I felt like death Monday night and Tuesday morning so I took yesterday off. I felt more human about halfway through the day. The girls have been doing far too much Roblox so yesterday we broke things up. They made bird houses and painted them (I've had the kits forever), we played Yahtzee, and we watched the Dora movie on Hulu. It was actually pretty good.

I got a notice from my other job that there are yearlong positions available in Germany and HI. With remote learning I'd take either one in a heartbeat and be able to take the kids away from their school for a year without guilt since they wouldn't physically be in the classroom anyway. Unfortunately they are for a slightly different profession than mine so even if they'd allow it, it'd mean quite the pay cut. Otherwise I'd be gone so fast. We would just keep our house (we have friends that could look in on it) and rent a small furnished apartment/long term hotel. *sigh*

lfig I wish I had the courage to do what your parents are doing! How will COVID affect their plans? Traveling seems hard right now 😕. It’s going to be difficult for sure! And my parents have been pretty hard core social distancing because my dad has chronic lung issues. But they have a spot locally that they’ve rented for now to avoid too much traveling. Their timing for this kinda sucks.

mwhip good luck with a pediatric ophthalmologist. It may be different there....but S’s is in the children’s hospital and she goes every 6 months. We are always there FOREVER! It’s the worst out of all the specialists she sees.

I guess maybe it's just an eye doctor office thing that they have no respect for patients time. H said another father walked out with his son and kind of caused a scene over how long it was taking.

Not sure I could do the RV life but in theory I think it would be really cool. There are so many places I want to see in our own country--national parks and whatnot. DH and I actually came thru the shelter-at-home pretty well, although in some ways I am looking forward to his deployment. There has been so. much. togetherness the last few months.
We made it to the dancewear place (which was kind of a ways) to find it closed, open by appointment only now due to Covid. Wish they'd updated their hours on FB, internet, etc. But we have an appointment for tomorrow, and I did get some stuff mailed. Home having lunch now.

Germany is a bit too cold for me. I think a year in HI is about all I could do...I would definitely get 'island fever.' I need periodic changes of scenery, seasons, etc. Europe is appealing to me for the cultural and travel opportunities; we thought long and hard about trying to get orders there. But at this point in my life, having moved so much, I am ready to be settled and have the kids in 1 school and growing up near my parents. If my hometown hadn't been an option or circumstances were different, I might have pushed for Europe. eta: Guam was like, my worst nightmare. Snakes falling from trees, so remote, lackluster housing, etc. No thank you.

I had some friends that were stationed in Guam for awhile and they loved it. No chance in hell you'd ever find me there though.
I've had several friends that went to Europe to dance. Germany, Brussels, France, Italy. I really wanted to do that when I was younger and thought it'd be awesome. Not so much now with kids.

I’d want to move to Sweden/Norway, so much more space... Ideally somewhere close to my sister. It has a culture that appeals to us, much more nature/outdoor minded and really family oriented. In my dreamworld we’d start a little campground/coffee house/brick-a-brack store. Oh how my kids would run barefoot trough fields of wild flowers with mud on their faces, building forts out of wood... A girl can dream right?! ETA my parents and 5/6month long winters are holding us back .

I could easily do island life for a year although long term I'd miss seasons. I like that HI isn't just beaches but also beautiful jungle. I'm also over moving but if I were to take one of those opportunities I wouldn't "move." No renting the house for extra income because that would involve moving all my crap. I'd just get what we needed down to a lot of suitcases. Easier in HI than Germany because of only needing summer clothes.
