E is on her way to her eye appointment with H. This is the first medical appointment he has ever taken her to on his own. I'm nervous, but this should be the most simple appointment and he needs to start helping with stuff like this, especially while he's between jobs. I convinced her there was nothing that would hurt today, told her they don't even have needles in the eye doctor offices.
I got up at 5 and got 4 miles in, so it's nice to have that out of the way for the day.
I've talked to a few moms who have kids with JIA or have it themselves, the past few days and it's making me feel better about things. There is so much information out there, so many treatment options, it's so overwhelming. I said something to H about it the other night and he told me he thinks the diagnosis is bullshit, which pissed me off. So it was good to talk to someone who has been through it. If he isn't going to do any research on it, I want to tell him to STFU because he isn't helping.

mwhip I told DH I may need to go to medical school myself to figure out DD. Want to come? We are hanging home waiting for the hurricane to arrive in the next few hours. Hoping for a quiet, boring day.

I think I'll pass on medical school, I had a hard time with some of my basic business classes...20 years ago (God, I'm old).

Morning!
Yeah, the storm passed us by without issue...I think we had 20 min of rain? The Gulf Stream really saves us. No surprise power is out in our old neighborhood in VA...can I say once again how happy I am to not be there??
No big plans here, I’m working on a grocery list and making some phone calls for dr appts, etc.

E and H finally made it back home. Everything looked good, so that's one less thing to worry about for now.

Hello!
We are currently getting pounded from the Hurricane and have a tornado warning. I am just praying the power doesn't go out. We picked up the boys before lunch so we wouldn't be picking up during the thick of it. Now I am on my computer and they are each on separate tablets. It's reminding me of the spring lol.

Morning. First day at the office and I wasn’t really feeling it, but hey what can you do... kids are in the tub, they’re of to bed in a bit. Hope for a quiet evening. Tomorrow we’re going to an orchard to pick some apples, and we’ll set up the kids pool in the afternoon.

I need to go to the store. I'd like to ditch the boys at my moms but idk if she has calls to make. I pulled all the next size up clothes for MJ and got the small stuff sorted into piles to give away. She has 4 teeth now and turned 1 and its like boom! My baby is gone. She's so big. Like over night, she's big 😭

My zoom meeting with the principal didn't really answer very many of our questions. Not his fault really, but don't have a meeting unless you have some more information. Multiple zoom calls a day with the entire class, multiple smaller teams meetings throughout the day, we'll be using the same HUB for the apps from the spring and that's about it.
They said they want to keep the same daily schedule that they would normally face to face, but nothing about how working parents are supposed to accomplish that. They just said when submitting work we had until midnight to do so each day.
I'm going to text our teacher (since the kindergarten class is staying together for 1st grade)and see if she has any ideas. I need to get a plan together for work.

Cadence is constantly messing with herself. When I question her she ignores me. My mom noticed and questioned her and Cadence told her that "mommy doesn't have enough money to buy me bigger panties." 🤦
My mom went out and bought her new panties, some shirts and leggings.
She also asked for solid colored panties because she's grown now. No more character panties for her.

Power was on and off for the last 2 hours but the storm seems to mostly have moved out now. I just got a text that the kid’s new glasses are in so if things stay calm, we will go pick them up when DH is done with his calls.

klong11 that's interesting because I catch Evie doing that pretty regularly as well. I'll have to straight up ask her if her panties are too small. Or just wait and maybe one of the grandmas will take pity on her and buy new ones!

I braved the grocery store with both kids—I think I’ve only done that once or twice since Covid began—and lived to tell about it, barely. The whiny voice and hanging on the cart or trying to stand on it (ahem, oldest child 😒) about did me in.
Now doing some dinner prep while the kids play outside. My neighbor is setting up a big inflatable pool so they’re occupied over there.

Finally decided on a range and it’ll be here on Friday, it’s been fine cause the stove still works and we have the bbq but it’ll be nice to get this old one outta here before I try and bake some muffins in there or something.
I’m heading out to Costco right away, I haven’t been since late Feb so I’m sure I’ll be loading up the Jetta and emptying the bank account 🤷♀️

We lost power immediately after I posted that. And estimates are either tomorrow or Thursday for return. So that’s great. Thankfully it’s not too hot right now. But I spent $300 grocery shopping yesterday. Mostly meats. So that’s not fun.
