Our neighbor has one that we’ve used before (she’s older and when we were out of power for a week with sandy we made a deal that we’d fill if with gas and keep it running if we could tie into it). She’s away so she called her to see if it was somewhere we could access but she didn’t answer.

No where we could get one on this short notice but it’s literally the second time in the 10 years we’ve lived here that we’ve lost power for more than an hour so we don’t want to invest in one.

No power here or at the beach but talked to my beach neighbor and we didn’t flood so that’s good. The highway in is closed about 2 miles from our place for flooding.

jewels we went out about 20 minutes ago but my friend 4 blocks from me had been out for 2 hours and is back on now. Her estimate had been 2am so I’m hoping for us both it’s not too bad.

Shockingly we didn’t lose power in our neighborhood. 80% of the town is out though so there may be no camp tomorrow for C.

Still no power here. I also dropped the glass lid to a pot and it shattered in millions of pieces on my foot in the dark while DH was out searching for batteries. I had to clean it up with a broom and pull 3 pieces of glass out of my foot by the light of my bath and body works candle. Luckily my little handheld vacuum was charged enough to go over it a few times after I swept.

I’ll be drinking White Claws until I pass out if anyone needs me.

Don’t think I checked in all day. Just work then M2’s speech appt today.

While I was fixing my dinner plate and giving M seconds, M2 left the table. I thought he was in the living room, but he went outside on the back patio. Next thing I know he comes in and says he has to poop. I tell him go get on the toilet. I give M his food and I’m heading in the bathroom when I see him standing at the toilet looking suspicious. He had already pooped in his undies outside and took them off out there. He didn’t want to get on the toilet with poop in his butt. 🤦🏽‍♀️ I wiped him and got him in the bath.

I’m reheating my food - par for the course- when M2 runs out of the pantry with the bag of Cretors Chicago mix. I look over at his dinner plate still on the table from earlier and it’s still full. I snatch the popcorn away from him and tell him he has to finish his dinner. Surprisingly no meltdown, but I am still ready to lock myself in my room for the rest of the night. MH can deal with bedtime since he has been MIA for the last almost hour. 🙄

I read the book. We watched the first episode and MH said he doesn’t like shows like that about kids so I’m going to need this to go on a business trip and that’s not going to be for a long time.

As much as tonight sucks, I’m still better than last Tuesday when I was at the ER with DD while bil and sil were in the hospital. DH still did not get his Covid results even though his brother and my niece have now been cleared by the health department to end their quarantine (but I told them see you at Christmas).

A plus for the day is the hot tub is ordered and will arrive in November instead of January.

Most of my town was estimated at Thursday. And all my friends got it back last night. From the bitching on Facebook it seems there are some small pockets without power but most of the town is up.
My parents 1 town over are still out - estimate Saturday

tgrimes I listened to Defending Jacob on audiobook yeeeears back, I remember it being really good. We are caught up in Homeland right now (only 9 years late!) but maybe we'll watch DJ next, I doubt DH is familiar with it so he would be surprised.
