guster I keep placemats, a napkin holder and usually some flowers. Odds and ends like what you describe, I’d leave on our kitchen desk area. I think the basket sounds like a nice way to keep things corralled, though, if that’s what convenient for you. We have a big bare wall in our breakfast area and I really want a sideboard/hutch there.

guster I have a runner and a vase of fresh flowers on the table. I have back 'summer bin' that I keep just outside the door that is stalked with sunscreen, bug spray, hats, sunglasses for each of us and a little radio for when we're outside sometimes. I also have a pair of sandals for all of us at the back. Nothing drives me more crazy than the 'in and out' to get something you need then traipsing through the house. I also have a summer bin on the inside of the garage that has all the same things and they each have a bin at the entrance that we use year round with their seasonal accessories. For the bins I use the SKUBB series from IKEA. When we're not using them they zipper down and easy to store. Similar here! Fresh flowers on the table. I have a basket on the counter with bug spray, sunscreen, sunglasses, portable speaker, ect. The basket comes in and out with us.

Morning. Yesterday was a crazy day. I shared on Snapchat, but N split her eyebrow open doing somersaults on her bed and falling into her nightstand. Took her in and she got two stitches and the okay to go to sports camp right after that. So then the kids had camp until 8:45 and H slept until 9 this morning! The kids are going to my parents this afternoon to make Rice Krispie bars with my dad. I plan on a target run and maybe a walk with L. Then the kids have camp again tonight and I’m going to a friends to celebrate my sisters birthday. Poor N!!!!

I found $40 hidden in my wallet I forgot about and yesterday when cleaning the floors I found $5. Making it rain over here with my newfound wealth.

We slept in again here (wooo!), played outside all morning with neighbors and picked up groceries. Now nap/quiet time.
I'm making Korean beef and broccoli tonight. I ordered white rice but got jasmine rice. Is that a totally different flavor or does it work? I have no clue!

I currently have S&P shakers on our table. I like to do a tablecloth because it’s not the prettiest but the girls get it dirty after 1 meal. I need to get placemats, I bet that would help. We are bad about making piles everywhere. I’m working on it, but I really need to get a paper system together before it’ll be completely fixed.

I have a giant ass computer monitor on my table....still. I feel like if his office is empty then there's no reason why he can't just go back there. I would say he's saving gas money, but any money he has saved from the he has turned around and spent on guitar pedals and beer.

Random question for those of you with eat-in kitchen tables, what do you keep on it on a daily basis? I typically keep a runner and a big flat basket on it all day. The basket always has a paperback book in it (bc I read to the kids at breakfast) and my sunglasses in a case (so I can run them out with me to the deck),and sometimes an extra a cloth napkin). It will typically collect more throughout the day. I take the basket off when we sit to eat dinner together or when the kids have breakfast. I empty the basket of anything extra each night and empty it fully (no book/sunglasses) when I know someone is coming over. MH think this set up not the norm so I told him I’d crowd source. Eta: i keep most surfaces bare, bc I do not like clutter but I find the basket necessary bc otherwise I think the little things throughout the day would end up all over. I like the basket idea. I have fresh flowers in a vase 90% of the time and salt and pepper shakers. Right now I also have 2 candle sticks. During school lockdown I had a metal caddy thing with Mason jars of markers, pensils, glue sticks, ruler, kid scissors. That way it was all at our finger tips for school work. Seasonally I'll do decorations too. Like I'll put a little glass rabbit next to my vase. Or a ring of pinecones around it.

Well the girl who said she'd never have a pool, just bought a pool 🤷♀️🤦♀️ my parents and us are going in halves on it but it'll be at our house. My dad wanted one but my mom doesnt want to take care of it. So he's paying half and ill take care of it. Win win. Mom and i went and ordered it today. So itll be in in a week or so and we have an install date of August 9th. Then A will take his week vacation off work to build the deck and safety fence. Since we can't Vacation before he has to use his time. We're all super excited!

I only put placemats out when we eat. I think they’d be all over the table otherwise.

The basket on the table is mostly for aesthetics — I like the height and texture it provides and just happens to be convenient. MH think the table shouldn’t have to be “cleared” of it before we use it, but he has no style so I was using you girls to prove my point.

I leave my runner and flowers on for the meal, just the place mats come on and off. We dish out at the island though right now, maybe later when everyone can reach we'll do family style.

Oh man, I need to Up my centerpiece game. I have... none. Our table is never has anything on it because I feel like the kids are always making a mess and I’m always wiping it down. Maybe placemats at meals would help. And now I’m browsing runners and cute salt and pepper shakers. Lol.
My kitchen island always has a centerpiece. Currently a wood tray with a plant and candle.
I just dozed off after I put L down. It’s been a while since I’ve had a good nap. That felt great!

wineallthetime we ordered from Watsons, but a private individual is installing it since they're booked until May.. but you may want to purchase now, everything is on sale and he said prices are jumping in 2021. You can buy now and just jnstall it next year. So we got a 27 foot round above ground. Usual price for what we got is 5,700. We paid 4,000. We did an upgrade they're offering for 500, valued at 1,400. It got us a better liner, winter cover, steps instead of a ladder, thermal cover and a better pump. You get all the basic start up chemicals and he let each of my kids pick any toy they wanted for free. For install you need lime, 8 ton of sand, pavers for the pump to sit on and for the legs. Depending on your installater, they may provide it. Our guy is squeezing us in in-between jobs so we are going to have it here for him. But he brings a bobcat and levels the space and prepares it and installs.
